Our first cruise was in 2001 too! (October)

Ours was September. We just missed you.

You'll be platinum for 2011 cruising too....same as us. Is the Oct 2010 three day your last gold sailing? It will be our last.

Lisa, I'm so sorry that you had to cancel the Baltic. I'm thinking they may offer it again in the future for a more reasonable price. In the meantime, you get to go to Hawaii, lucky dog!

I'm happy that you booked the 3 night with us in Oct and then we'll do the food and wine fest right after that. How perfect.;)

Yes he is married, to a Brizilian beauty (OK, I just assumed the beauty part). Besides, I'm old enough to be his MOM! It's just about having cute boys around....you know, the reason we all want to hang with Ian and Sukie. Hmmmmm, and John, and John and Paul........

.

IS THAT WHY we hang out with Ian and Sukie???? I'm glad I finally got the memo. I didn't know it was because they are part of The Beautiful People....hahaha....that really makes me laugh.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Oh ok, I forgot about the 4 night. Which TA crossing are you doing? Westbound? That's the one that I'll end up doing, but not until next year.

Yes, Westbound this September. I'm really looking forward to it now and there does seem some really nice people onboard. Of course Angie, Dennis and PJ are just 3 of them!!! :cool1:(Jackie has defected and Cheri cancelled!!!:sad2:) Noel and John are going too.

The hotel we are staying at in Barcelona has about half the rooms taken by the TA cruisers!!! What a laugh!!!

Thinking of doing the Segway Tour of Barcelona. Also lots and lots of walking.::yes::

Oh good....I get to find out from you all about it. I'm doing the same one next year.

What hotel are you staying at in Barcelona? How many nights before boarding? Is the hotel near the airport or the port or the shoreline? It looks like there might be some nice beaches in Barcelona since it's right on the waterfront. You'll have to keep me informed of all your plans and activities. This will be our first time in Spain. I've been to Germany and France. John has been to London. Neither of us have been to Spain. I'm looking forward to it.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

And.....we'd need a 4th at our table.....I'm just saying.

OK...now to get Nan and Willie back on board.........
It would be sooo coooool!!!

Oh, you know you want to....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
And I know you know I know I want to!!! :rotfl::laughing::rotfl:

We have 8 down and 2 to go then we're platinum. I expect to get there after my 2 short b2bs in Oct this year. Then I'll be platinum for all of my special 2011 sailings starting with the Dream maiden voyage. How awesome!
:worship: :worship: :worship:

My 1st cruise was in May 2005 - a 3 night taster on the Wonder with Sophie! The 2nd was our VR 7 night Western Carib in September 2007 followed by a 4 night DD in May 2008, the Mexican Riviera in August 2008 and last September's Tortolly fabulous cruise with you guys!!! IF I managed the EBTA that would be my 6th... :goodvibes

I think your choice of hotel depends on what you primarily want to do, so if it is the beach then go for one near the beach, but you will have to catch buses etc for other places. We originally booked a cheaper hotel but it was a little way out, which would have meant public transport to everywhere. Things do seem rather spread out in Barcelona!!! So, as we like some historic things , and ambling around the atmospheric streets we opted for a central one on La Ramblas, the bustling street with trees and little stalls. Hotel Praktik Rambla. We should be able to walk quite a few places, even down to the harbour if we are fit and healthy!!! There is a slightly cheaper sister hotel about 6 blocks away that some are staying at, but we will have a meet at the one we are staying at I think. Someone is organising a bus on embarkation day to take those who want to, to the port!!!! There is quite a gang. There is a great range of hotels from very expensive to hostels, and some fantastic apartments. There are also different areas of Barcelona to choose a hotel in also. We might even change our minds and go for an apartment.

Marilyn, thank you! What a wealth of information. I'm taking notes.

I suppose I will have to get on my thread and see who is organizing what. I have a long time before I need to go over there yet. Maybe I'll just say hello. I really don't follow any of my 2011 cruise threads. It's way too early.

Well, John likes historic but I like the beach so we'll see where we will stay when the time comes. I suppose I should check with the friends that we're travelling with as well.

I really found it quite stressful looking at all the areas. There seem to be about 5 or 6 areas all with differing characteristics which are great areas to stay. I was a little overawed at first until I worked out what we would spend most time doing.

HAPPY FRIDAY !:cool1::thumbsup2

Jackie - congrats on yet another cruise booking!

Marilyn, Cherie, Deb, Kaz, Monica - You ladies are all nuts (in a very good way ;))

Michelle - you're nuts too (in a non-cruise booking way that is still very good! ;):goodvibes )

Nan - I understand your disappointment in not getting the same parents/kids for little league. It doesn't always work out that the kids and parents get along. :goodvibes Hope you're going to have a good work free weekend.

Deb - KWIM means Know What I Mean:goodvibes

Hi Shannon. How is the snow where you are? I think there is supposed to be more snow here this week, but we wont be here to 'enjoy' it!!!;)

What cracks me up is the fact that Disney tiered their castaway club membership and the thieves are spending all their tax return dollars to book multiple cruises to get to the next level....me included. It makes me laugh. Yes, we're addicted and we just can't help ourselves. But it's the happiest place in the world and where we all want to be.:goodvibes:goodvibes

:sad1::sad1::sad1:

You are so smitten.

Does he have a ring on his finger?

You're going to start stalking him soon.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

START???? :rotfl2:

Thanks Shannon!!!  (one of us has to keep a firm foot on the ground... no matter how much she doesn't want to... :rolleyes1)

Have fun 'missing' your snow ;):goodvibes

We had some snow last week, but not much.
We had a milder than normal January and lots of the snow melted away. So Feb is being nice too :goodvibes

Deb, you're such a bad influence!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I'll have a little chat with Richard about it tonight... ;)

IF I booked it, then our 1st Platinum cruise would be the Alaskan one in August 2011... :rolleyes1

It's Jackie who is the bad influence. That's how I ended up booking the B2B on the Dream.

I too would be on the East Bound Transatlantic. I blame Sukie for having children and grandchildren. Why he would consider spending time with them in October more important is beyond me.

OK, so should I move my 4 bookings to a travel agent and if so, which one? Who is offering on board credits.

I had worked with a travel agent before, but I'm a bit embarrassed to write her and ask if her agency is doing on board credits or not.

I have rather hefty onboard credits for the Repo and Alaska because they were booked onboard and a very nice Pennsylvania fairy godmother moved them for me to the ones I wanted.

Some tarty redhead chick who I shall not name, got me hefty on the B2B on the Dream.

I'm thinking that I could parlay those credits even higher. Also, how do I get the credits for using my Mickey Rat Visa card?

Ian, I don't think you can get the $25 ($50?) Visa credit if you have OBCs from on board booking. Lots of people love DU for their TA and they saved my patootie on my Panama fiasco. I have a TA (that Woody uses) and can recommend them. I can call you this weekend with that info as I can not post it.

Which reminds me, I need to e-mail them and get the details of my B2B from them...I can't seem to locate my paperwork from the ship.l

I did fax over the card for your OBC's in November, but I'm going to mail it also just to be safe.

.

We went out to dinner. We discussed. We still can't decide.... :cool2:

We wait, with baited breath. :cool2:

Just talked to Katypop and got the scoop on the excursions she is doing and a hint of when formal/formal/semi-formal nights are.
