Hi Kathe. How's the back today? Is it sciatica? If so, a back support pillow and anti-inflamatories seem to work well for me when it flares up. It's extremely painful. I hope it goes away soon.

I've struggled with sciatica for about 10 years. The only time I had some relief was when I was going to a chiropractor regularly when I had insurance that had chiropractic coverage. What I hate most is when it's been gone for a while, then suddenly I'm walking down the hall at work and my right leg starts to give out from sciatic pain on that side. Wham! Out of nowhere, then I struggle for a few days with it until it goes away again. I have a Homedics brand Shiatsu chair insert that I use for a couple days to make it go away.

John says we have kitty consierge in our house. Whatever Ella wants, Ella gets. I said she should have been named Lola.

I brought an electric blanket back with me from my FL visit....I know how strange that sounds....but it was colder in FL than it was in PA when I was there and all my frigid weather clothing was in PA. Add to that the fact that the hotel room barely had heat....we were freezing. We bought sweatshirts in size 3X because that's all that was on the shelves and we bought an electric blanket.

I love the electric blanket and have been using it at home since we got back. Ella LOVES the heat. I'm sitting on the couch with the blanket over my lap. Ella wants to get under the blanket and sleep at my feet. So she claws at me and the blanket until I let her under. And I always let her under. John says we have kitty concierge at our house. We exist to accommodate Ella.

Perfect example of how cats are! I love it! ;) I miss having cats. They're so entertaining. Siamese are my favorites because they REALLY have some major "cat-itude"! :thumbsup2 I plan on getting on after the guinea pigs are gone.

Not sure if it's sciatica :confused3 The pain is going down my leg some, but also up into my back on that side too?Still having spasms.I am using a heating pad which is helping some. In any case, I'm taking something with Advil in it as well as muscle relaxants but now my tummy hurts

This is also the anniversary of the day I lost my husband :sad1: It's been 8 yrs now.

My parents had Siamese for years, and they certainly did have "cat-itude"

It definitely will!!! :goodvibes

I'm sure I will, Kathe. I'm going with a lovely fellow DISer and we're staying at BLT for 9 nights which we're both v-e-r-y excited about!!! Here's a link to our pre-trip report should you fancy a peek... ;) Hoping very much to meet up with Monica whilst we're there... :thumbsup2

Well, I like to get those dates in the diary EARLY!!! :rotfl2: The not-so-vague plan is to spend a week in DL celebrating not only my half century BUT also that of the Enchanted Tiki Room!!! :woohoo: I was born on June 22nd 1963 and the Tiki Rooms opened the following day so I always think of it as my personal Disney attraction... ;) I'm then hoping to fly to Hawaii from LA for at least a week of sun and sand in the new DVC resort... :cloud9:

It's a great feeling, Deb!!! :yay:

:thumbsup2 It all sounds great! Love your pre-trip report:goodvibes

Tons to try to do today in the 3 1/2 hours before picking up Tyler, so I'm off! :goodvibes

Hugs to you, Kathe.:lovestruc

Just posting to say "Hi" to everyone and to say "Wish you were here!"

Kathe, for what it's worth, when I had sciatica, I found that ice helped me a lot more than heat...that's what my doctor recommended.

CHERI...

GET OFF THE DAMNED COMPUTER... YOU'RE ON A CRUISE!!!!

(and NO farming...!!!!!!)

Now.. where was I??? :lmao: :lmao:

Richard and I are going to DL before the Repo - I'm hoping to book using DVC points and stay at GCV... I think it would be worth it, Kathe. We went to DL for NYE 2005 and even tho' the park was heaving, the atmosphere was great. We loved it... DL is my absolute fave park of all (I think it's because it was the original) and am planning to be there for my 50th in June 2013. party:

Kathe... you can still sit by the pool... only with Kaz.. (and maybe me... mom talked about booking this morning over breaky...)

See you, Kathe and your Mom there, Shell... :thumbsup2

OMG!!!! I feel for you, I really do!!! My lovely Grandfather used to boil tripe in milk and the smell... :faint: Only thing worse was when he boiled a pig's head to make some disgusting pressed meat affair called "Brawn"...

It just gets worse... :sad2:

That's how my mom did it... she said that it used to take 6 hours to make and I was lucky it only took a short time... funny though... the house still smells 12 hours later!!! :crazy2:

Miserable weather here today. Pouring rain. I would rather it be colder but sunny. At least I don't need to venture out in it.

Thanks for letting me know what my weather is... :rotfl:

Deb... just be careful... I almost set my bed on fire with one of those... but that was back in the early 80's and I'm sure yours has an automatic shut off... mine didn't even have a polarized plug... :rolleyes1

I believe it is said that dogs have owners but cats have staff!!! Sound like it's true!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Didn't you ever hear the old expression?

"Call a dog and they'll come running... Call a cat and they'll take a message and get back to you... " :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sciatica is part of what I'm dealing with with the pelvic pain.. it's bad today.. I'm already 1 vicodin in... (and suprised I can still semi spell...)

Get a cat and it'll take care of the guinea pigs...

At least she's not sleeping, Michelle

Cheri, say hi to Monica and Jackie for me! And listen to Michelle, go have some fun!! But if you insist on chatting here...how's the weather? Just how much fun are you all having? Do you have other tablemates? Wish we could all be there with you!

Kathe - when are you going to DL? I'm so far behind and trying to keep up with 5 threads is not helping!
