Feel Better Deborah...

We had some good news ... Sukie is going to be a blog for one of the Tribune company digital sites. They made toe firm offer to him yesterday. Now there is contract to review. Not sure when his blog will start to appear, but you can be sure that it will be 100% "Brand Sukie."

Hola! Raining cats and dogs here in sunny southern California, and will be for the rest of the week. This is day three of Venetias new job. She is feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed. After years and years of the same routine, she just feels lost. But hopefully it will all start to fall into place and she will feel more at ease. She does like the new ladies she works with so that is a major plus. Thanks for everyones well wishes and support. On a different note, I think I might want to return the Olympus camera I got for Christmas. Leaning toward the Fuji Ian reccomended to Deb for John. Thought I was ready for a camera that you big boys and girls are using, but I thought wrong. It just is too bulky in my hand and seems to make a lot of noise when it takes a picture. I didnt relise they made point and shoots with such a nice zoom capability. I love our small Fuji point and shoot, but just need to be able to zoom closer. So I think V is gonna order the camera Deb got. QVC has it right now and their return policy is nice. Thanks Ken for helping V out with the Olympus, but just not for me afterall.

Bubba... Tell V that we are all pulling for her!!! She's gonna do GREAT and after the first week I'm sure it will all start to fall into place...

Hi Friends, just back from the wound doctor. The infection is better, but not completely gone. I'm back on antibiotics for the leg again. The doctor says I'll be on them long term. I have a six month script that I just started. He's trying to clean up the dormant bacteria after it goes away on the surface. He wants me to clean the leg with white vinegar too. I feel like I should be making salad. haha.

He's a wonderful and brilliant doctor that I have faith and confidence in...he doesn't have a clear answer so we're trying what we can to keep it from coming back repeatedly.

Monica, I so very much agree with Nan......

TURTLE FARM.

I had the same dilemma when we did the western. I wanted to go to the water but I wanted to see the island. We settled on doing the tour and turtle farm before it was finished with the pool and all. I want to do another western so we can go back. It's impossible to get it all done in one trip and there's more I want to do there.

V....Hang in there sweetie, change and new is hard in the beginning but it does get easier in time. Just keep it in stride and it will seem different in two weeks. Liking the people is the most imortant thing, so at least you have that. Let them help you, even if it's just to vent. hugs.

Bubba....John LOVES his camera. It's lightweight, it lets you just point and shoot or you can manually change the settings if you want to play. It has a great and easy zoom too. Good for V finding it on QVC. I hope you get it and I hope you like it. Let us know.

How was your weekend with G and Jon....did you take any pics? I'm sure you had a great time.

Hi to everybody!

Hi Deb...

Bye Deb... (I have to take mom to the store...)

Oh and Ian, better go buy Sukie a special felt tipped pen that he can use to sign autographs with....especially now that he's moving on up to the big leagues.

Yes, I would like an autographed copy of his first blog in print. You said something about it being digital....I'm not sure what that means or how it works. Please explain.
:confused3

Many congrats to Sukie for landing this gig. It's good to be him.:rotfl:

He just turned 18... he was born 3 1/2 months early... and he's been a miracle ever since... He's my buddy... whenever I'd be working at Metro and Kyle came in he would sit with me and after a while I'd realize that Dave (his dad) was answering the phones (my job) and Kyle and I were playing computer games!!! :rotfl:

Kyle's very involved with Special Olympics... he's on the Wildcats Hockey team and he competed in tennis last summer at the NJ games. :thumbsup2

He's not going to be able to play for a while but he's anxious to get back to his friends...

&&&& since he can't talk with a trach in... he's discovered he can text everyone!!! :cheer2:

I will of course let everyone know when his blog starts. He's still dealing with the contract at the moment.

I'm hoping he gets some publicity out of this.

I'm glad today is over. It has been very, very odd.

My new manager was in from back east, but has not yet met with me. There are only two of us here in Chicago that are part of their team. You would think that at least we would have scheduled some time together.

But I suppose there's a plan. I just don't know it yet.

Man I must be getting old. I have no recollection of helping someone to buy an Olympus ... I tend to move to wards the Pentax, Canon and Nikon cameras.

For a prosumer I tend to lean towards the Canon Powershot S"#" IS series (I think it is on S5 now). I had an S2 and loved it as it was one step behind the DSLR IMHO. I don't know much of the Fuji line at all as I seem to have an aversion to them, or at the least a blind spot, for no rational reason whatsoever.

But hey, you are welcome anyhow. Sorry it didn't work out. But I REALLY understand.

You need to broaden your horizons Ken. The Fuji has gotten excellent reviews with image quality better than the comparable Canon.

Ian, excellent news for Sukie :cheer2:

Deborah, hugs for you and for your friend :grouphug:

V, hope each day gets a little easier at your new job :grouphug:

Monica, we loved the Turtle Farm too :thumbsup2 Of course, it came second to swimming with the stingrays, the one at CC was way too small so glad we had a second chance to experience them ;)

Kathe...

I hear that the stingrays have quite a reputation... ;)

Deborah - :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Kathe - I swam with stingrays in 2004 in Nassau - Blackbeard's Cay excursion thru DCL - not sure if they still offer this or not. No real need to do it again.

We have the Island tour booked thru Captain Marvin's.
