As you can tell --- I was able to finish setting up the new desktop w/ the wireless network & can get the internet now

Have given up on the printer tho....don't know what else to do w/ it (other than ) I plugged in the usb cable into the back of the base (like I would to the laptop) but they don't want to talk to each other I have saved the 2 signs that John made for us onto a usb stick & will try to figure out how to print them out (where). I think Michelle said I could go to some place like Walmart, but....can they print from a usb stick?

finally came home at a decent hour tonight, 6:30pm Please remind me next month NO MORE LONG HOURS

Paul's mom had her 3rd hip surgery last week, she is over to the skilled nursing ward where my mom lives. She was lucky to get a bed there again I feel bad I haven't been able to see her much during all this stuff (or take the kids to see her) since I've been at work. Oh well it is what it is.

Have you downloaded the latest driver for the printer.

(Going out on a limb here, seeing as we're a Mac household)

Are you trying to print wirelessly or do you have the printer plugged into the computer?

(Again, I'm a Mac guy. I just plug things in, so sometimes Windows is a mystery to me.)

One more thought, does anything happen when you print? Any little printing icon down in the task bar? Can you see if there is a print queue. It may be stuck in queue and you might have to start the queue.

Windows 7 or vista? What brand/model of printer?

Did you have the computer on when you plugged in and turned on the printer?

Yes Walmart should be able to print off a flash drive (usb stick). At least the one in Quesnel does. You might also be able to send the pics to Walmart online (at least the Canadian one does) and get them printed for pickup...

Yes I did have the computer on...also printer was already on.

Walmart (or someone else) on file....hmmm...I'll go look into that. Hadn't thought of that option.

Unplug the printer from the computer. reboot the computer. after it has fully booted up, plug in the printer again to the computer. if that doesn't work go into control panel and delete the printer then reboot the machine and try plugging in the printer again. Windows is trying to move towards Macs plug it in and play but because there are so many 3rd party manufacturers (something mac users forget) it doesn't always go smoothly.

The next thing to try is to delete the printer again and unplug the printer from the computer, then install from the disk and when prompted plug in the printer, but not before.

The issue with a weekend is that we need 1 day to take the kids to the grandparents and 1 day to drive to the airport. then we need 1 day to drive home.

So the best we can do is a Sunday arrival or a Saturday departure...

I feel a bit better in the afternoon until my good friend texted me that her mum is sliping away (she is dying as she got ovanries cancer) same as my mum... My friend Alison (not cruise with me at PC) another one Alison was very upset and nervous as her mum live 4 hours drive... So she is going tom morning to see her also her brother live in Dublin, have to call him to come down to see her... Oh I was crying when she showed me the fax which she got it from her mum's partner as it was so lovely words and explained her...Oh dear, I was sob sob front of her... I felt very softies after lost my parent long times ago... We had a good chat tonight... Oh I am thinking of her at sad times....
