V!! - congrats on the new job ((hugs)) for that :)

So cool to see you about & great news about the cruise :)

Gaylean - great to see you too!

Hi Mon,
Thanks, I'm really looking forward to something new, new people, new responsibilities, my own really big office, but I'm also really :scared1:. I think I surprised myself in taking this leap. I'm not big on change so this decision is really huge for me.

Glad to hear you can talk again, and you have the long weekend to relax.

Gay wants us to come and party with them tonight, but it looks like I will be stuck at work all day, and the drive with holiday traffic would not be fun, so Bubba and I will be staying in and celebrating at home. I plan on putting away christmas this weekend and catching up on laundry. Maybe sleeping in too.:goodvibes Gotta love long weekends

Take your butterfly magnet with you - keep it in plain sight & know that we're there with you :grouphug:

Have fun what ever you do, & be safe :)

I'm very interested John. I'm looking at that model as our next "upgrade."

this is one cool toy, the instruction manual is 140 pages :scared1: :scared1: and I am just starting it but for now I can pop away in full auto mode :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 it can slam up to 40 frames in rapid fire and then lets you merge them to get more clarity :confused3 :confused3
need to practice a lot.

Welcome to New Year's Eve!

Sukie called me this morning and told him that the surgery is definitely cancelled and now he's on solid foods, because apparently his intestinal track is returning to working order.

I'm expecting that they will discharge him this morning, so I'm not going for a visit. Just waiting for the call to pick him hp.

This has all be a HUGE relief. I was extremely worried about the surgery.

The doctor said that this is the 5th case he's seen of something that looked like an intestinal blockage but was an infection (though the part I don't understand is that Sukie had no fever).

I guess there must be a bug going around, at least in some geographic radius since the commonality is the geographic proximity to this hospital.

So, it looks like we're going to have New Year's Eve at home!

Great to hear!!! I'm sure he's glad to be leaving the sausage loving people behind!!!

Yes I am, I love it. :worship: :worship:thank you Ian for the tech support on this, :worship::worship:It is a cool tool and I will be posting all kinds of photos from the cruise!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am very glad that Sukie is getting better, hope they let him come home ASAP. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

So???? Test pictures please???

Great news Ian. Enjoy a quiet New Year relaxing.

I daren't go look at my ruined farms etc in case I start them up again.. I am going to have so much more time to waste on other things now!!:lmao:

You can play Country life... nothing has died there... ;)

Hi Mon, glad you're starting to feel a little better.

John's actual birthday is 1/11....we just celebrated at home with his son and now we can take down the tree before leaving for vacation. We'll be in Nassau doing a wine and cheese pairing for John's real birthday.

I should be much better in a week. Can't wait to see you at Fishlips. So far, Lisa and Darrell will be meeting us there. YEAH!!!! We'll get John to take pics of the Magic leaving port.:laughing:

Yeah.. like you guys won't be running down the jetty yelling "Come Back!!!" "I want on!!!"

May peace break into your house,
and may thieves steal your debts.

May the pockets of your jeans
become a magnet for $100 bills.

May love stick to your face like superglue,
and may laughter assault your lips!

May your clothes smell of success,
and may happiness strike your cheeks.

May your tears be those of joy,
and may your problems lose your address!

In simple words...

“May 2010 be one of the most blessed years of your life.”

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that matter, don’t mind; and those that mind, don't matter”. "In God We Trust, All Others We Monitor".

Have a Safe & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Just read about this.....OMG!!!! How scary but at least he'll be home for NYE.

I'm in Tampa so not reading much. Hope everyone is doing good!

I hope it's more responsive than your little Sony was. That's how I ended up with a Fuji, I was in a store and seeing which cameras had the shortest latency between flash photos.

I'm eager to hear more. There might be a new toy in my near future!

I brought Sukie back home and very happy about it. What a big scare that was, but we are so relieved that he did not have to go under the knife.

He's resting and is on some antibiotics and some other stuff for infections.

The good thing is that he came home on the 31st. We had hit our deductible for 2009 in the fall, so if there's any thing good about this, it happened on the "right" side of the year, before our deductible resets at midnight and we start all over again!

Update on Sukie.

He's also a bit irritated with his roommate's family. They seem like nice people but are under the delusion that the hospital room is a clown car and are trying to see how many people they can cram into the room. They have very loud conversations, frequently involving the phone on speaker so everyone is shouting and the people on the phone are shouting.

I think his favorite part of today was when people crammed into the room for a prayer meeting. The only thing that might have made the event even more complete for him was if they started passing back and forth sausage rolls over his bed.

I would have preferred if he was in the hospital that our doctor is associated with because it's one of the best in the Chicago area, but unfortunately it was just too far away given the state he was in last night.

However he's very pleased with the staff and the quality of the care he's getting.

He's in very good spirits. I'm exhausted and not going back tonight. I didn't sleep last night and it's snowing now and I really don't want to be driving in the snow when I'm this tired, even though the hospital is not far away.

I guess we'll see how he is tomorrow. Right now I'm preparing to spend New Year's Eve in the hospital.

Love the story of his roommate ;) and better yet that you are home now :thumbsup2

yes I hear that. Maybe willie can break another limb tonight, so we don't have to endure that dreaded deductible again in 2010

Just kidding, no more broken anything in our family.

We batted around the idea of going to Santa Barbara to see the mission (and invade Bubba & V) but decided to stay home. We're going to go out to dinner with my mom and see the light show at a park. Big display, woo hoo :woohoo:

Then back home early to avoid the DUIs on the road and I bet ya asleep before midnight.

Work has been kicking my butt. I'm tired when I get home, so I go to bed much earlier than my night owl ways of before.

Deb, get rid of that darn bug before the cruise :wizard:

Happy New Year's to all and to all I'll see ya later

Hi everyone!!

I was able to leave work today at 130pm (suppposed to be 530pm) :cool1: I headed over to Target & then went to see SHerlock Holmes (recommend) :thumbsup2

Now I'm home...settling in for the night...no out on the road w/ the crazies tonight :rotfl:

YEAH SUKIE'S HOME!!! (really good news cuz of the deductible too :goodvibes)

didn't make it onto the computer yesterday or today.
Finally got on here today for a minute and have to run before getting caught up. I am way behind, but did see a post saying that Sukie is in hospital. Hope Sukie is doing okay :grouphug:

Okay, I'm all caught up!

Venetia - congrats on the new job! :cool1::thumbsup2

Gaylean - Hi! sorry I missed being on here when you were! Hopefully we'll be online at the same time eventually! Happy Anniversary to you and Jon!:lovestruc

Deb - hope the ear clears up soon!

Marilyn, Michelle and Monica - hope you all feel better in 2010!

Gydell - great New Years toast!

We're staying home for New Years Eve again. Once hockey is over it'll be game time and munchies. The kids are looking forward to staying up late!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Taking a little break from exhausting TV viewing. Sukie is sleeping on and off. No parties for us tonight! But, we did go out on the front porch to get a good look at the blue moon.

Happy New Years everyone!

Feeling better - yeah! 3rd night in a row though of only 4hrs of sleep - it's going to catch up w/ me I'm sure!

Started putting pics from Thanksgiving on snapfish....if anyone wants me to send you an invite to see pics, let me know (email is best). Don't want to just post as dsis doesn't want the kiddos pics on line.

Hoping I get sent home at 1pm....thinking of going to see a movie on the way home (after stopping at Target).

Monica, I'm glad you are feeling better too

Michelle, glad you are on the mend too
