I went MIA from the computer this weekend, but had a great time.
We went to Prince George for the weekend and got the Christmas shopping done. I had a girls night on Friday and went shopping with my sister, Ken's sister and Baby Emily (6months old). She was a sweetie, and her mom is so funny as she is quite nervous to let the baby out of her hands and sight.Saturday Ken & I went shopping while the kids visited with their aunt & then grandparents.
Sunday a bit more shopping before we headed home. Kaleigh went to a year end party for her soccer and Santa was there. Unfortunately, she ended up not feeling well and having a fever for the evening. Today is a Daddy-day for the kids, and its so cold -33C (-27F) this morning, that we kept Shaelyn home from school. Wish I could have stayed home all day with them, but I'm here at work.
to all who need them.
Deb - I totally understand your feelings about your father. I have no contact with my father and occasionally wonder if I should open that door again. My parents split up when I was 10 and he was horrible for making efforts to see my sister and I. After a few years he just quit coming around, and instead every few years would initiate contact with me through a third party (At 16, it was through my boss; in grade 12, through the school principal; when I started the job in Quesnel, he sent flowers to my workplace on my birthday). The first couple times I would go see him after he'd initiate things, but he never went anywhere with it. He did tell me that he had found it easier to pretend my sister & were dead than to actually attempt to have a relationship. I gave up on him. I'm blessed with a wonderful mother, and in my teens I actually gave her mother's day and father's day gifts a few years; after all, she was doing it all, she deserved all the credit![]()
