Off to work at WW in about a half hour.

I'm so sad. We went to Costco yesterday and I didn't buy myself a toy. There was nothing I wanted

I thought I might buy a video game, but the adult in me said, "You can't have any new games, until you've finished playing the one's you've already bought."

I hate when that bossy SOB sticks his nose into my affairs. Besides, they didn't have any I wanted ... well they did have one, "Drake's Fortune 2", but he stopped me from buying it.

Then I got home and went on Amazon and almost bought "Assassin's Creed" (the first one) for the PS3, but he stopped me again!

I guess I'll just spend my time off from work trying to finish "Heavenly Sword," "Prince of Persia," and "Infamous."

This coming week is a short week for me. I'm only working 3.5 days this week. I'm off from the afternoon of the 17th. I return to work on Monday the 28th.

We don't celebrate Christmas so we really have nothing planned. Perhaps going out to see "The Princess and the Frog," and also perhaps venturing out Christmas Day to see "Sherlock Holmes." We may just stay in as well.

We bought a couple of jigsaw puzzles to work on, and I've got a couple of really nice bottles of wine left over from Thanksgiving to enjoy.

HOW many times do I have to remind you to knock that :furious: off your shoulder???

It's just something you get used to and don't know what you're missing out on because it was never there. I remember moving to NYC for the first time. I had just left my small hometown knowing everyone since kindergarden and we were all the same age. Now I find myself in NYC living and working. Everyone I meet is from a different place and all different ages. I loved it. But every father's day everyone had some special story and to me it was just another day. That's when it hit me that I didn't have a dad. I was 20 years old. I'm fine with it now...I'm over 50. Your perspective changes a lot when you hit 50. You're now starting the downward portion of your life....no more climing. So you figure that you have earned everything that you want in life, so you get it and have it. I guess you can call it spoiling yourself. It works for me!

APPARENTLY, it doesn't work for Ian. IAN SPOIL YOURSELF, it's ok you're over 50 and you have started the downward portion of your life. Tell him to shut the duck up. You have earned it dahling. Just do it....like Nike....that's another motto of mine. I love that line. Buy yourself 5 new games, who cares!!!!! Enjoy yourself. Enjoy your life and live it! Each moment counts....don't waste even one. BUY THOSE GAMES!!!

Hugs and love to you. JMHO.

I wonder if my step mother wasn't around if I would have had more of a relationship... but he chose and he had 2 totally different families...:confused3

comment on FB - not sure what all info they have on me but I keep getting stuff for Altanta ... didn't think I lived there.

U sure???

Morning kids!

Monica, I did the math on our cruise and counting the tips we have a 73% discount over the current cost of a Cat 5 for three adults! :woohoo:WOW! TA discounts ROCK!

.

Oh good. rub it in... :rotfl2:

I'm off to get a pedicure and buy new shoes today....oh wait, I'd better do that in reverse order! Will get some breakfast first, as I've consumed all my groceries and will need to get more of that too.

House de-cluttering is progressing, will do my bedroom today and then have all next weekend for the office/craft room (and it will take every minute of it too)!

Need to call on my Disney rewards card (which expires this month). Someone on the DIS posted that you can get that transfered to a regular Disney gift card before it expires. If not, looks like I'll be shoe shopping at the mall that still has a Disney store and will buy a beach towel or something......

So that's my day......

.

I did that last week... :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your help Holly. I now have the Wii, the Wii Fit with Balance Board and Jillian Michaels Wii in my Amazon Wish List and I'll pick them up on Wednesday....my next pay. Now it makes perfectly good sense to me. All totalled it's about $350. Not bad if I use it. Do you just hook it up to the TV? I have a satellite box, DVD player and Bose all hooked up to my TV now. I have no idea if John knows how to hook up a Wii too. Guess we'll find out. I think I'll use it so I'm happy to have it. Now if only they will put Zena Rommett's ballet class and Alvin Ailey's jazz class on Wii, then I'll be in my natural element. In the meantime I'll try what's available. :cutie:

& your first recital is???

I almost forgot about it...it was with a recruiter who couldn't give me the answers I needed to determine if I wanted the job or not. I was her first call  I think the company is a counsulting firm that offers same kind of services that I do but on a bigger scale. So it could be good, but I'm not sure if my attitude about being disappointed in the recruiter not being able to answer my questions put me in a not to call back pile. I was a bit pissed at the whole thing. I was at my client's office so the call we interfering with actual work. Long answer to tell ya - not sure yet

Still in my jammies but we need to get up and out to get to our cookie decorating party. Mols baked the cookies this morning the house smells great when she is at work :woohoo:

told you not to wear your jammies to the interview... :upsidedow

Sorry Deb, I know nothing about hooking it up, but I'm sure John can figure it out since he hooked all the other things up. :thumbsup2

That's very good to hear Holly. Finally! Keep the poison around all the time. Never pick it up. If you get one, you get tons of them. They breed like crazy. So make sure you have lots of poison all around all the time. Then you'll never see another mouse that you don't want.:banana::banana:

I sure hope so. I hope I have no more that die in the house. That smell was horrible! I've had 3 people tell me they had to rip out their walls to get rid of poisoned mice that died in there. That scares me, but I have to do something and take my chances.

Sort of nervous to go to work tomorrow. One of the guys and I have been flirting a bit .....he started it.....and it just kept escalating and I sort of called him sexy as I was leaving on Friday. His face sure turned red! OOPS!

Holly... stop sexually harrassing the co workers...

Planky tries it all the time & I just threaten to put him out in the snow...

:rotfl2: Well.....he started it! A couple months ago he mentioned something about me rocking his world, and we just kept it up until I managed to get him to join me & a couple co-workers for drinks 3 times in 2 weeks and everybody said that's the most he's joined in all the years he's been there.

He was talking about how he can't satisfy 2 women (referring to 2 of us who were egging him on one evening), then when I was stumbling over my words about something else, he said "Wow, loopy after only 1 beer? I'm beginning to think I COULD satisfy you!" ;) I told him I'm sure he could, and we just keep the back and forth going. It was all in fun but I'm afraid I crossed the line Friday. I'm pretty sure his nephew (one of our couriers) overheard me telling one of the girls that he needs to shave his beard because it looks good on him and is driving me nuts. I think the nephew told him what I said because a bit later I saw them giving each other conspiratory looks and smiling at me. So as I was leaving, I popped into his office and asked him if he's going to keep his beard, and he told me until Christmas at least. I told him he should definitely keep it because it makes him look sexy, he turned red and I got the heck out of there! :rotfl2:

He probably shaved it off this weekend in fear! :rotfl:

Be careful Holly.. Office romances often go south...

No office romance, I'd get fired. They frown upon fraternizing amongst lawyers and lowly secretaries. Nothing can come of this other than fun flirting.

I can't find anywhere to sleep! Can't sleep in my room because I'm afraid there are still mice in there somewhere because even more of the poison has disappeared and I'm too worried about them running across my bed with me in it (because I know they've been on my bed---saw mouse poop), so I've not been sleeping in there for about a month at least, can't sleep with Tyler because he's sprawled all the way across and I don't want to wake him, can't sleep in the living room because the darned guinea pigs are WAAAAY TOOO NOISY!

I guess tomorrow I'll start clearing out my whole bedroom. Literally, I want to take everything out, disinfect every single thing, completely change the bedding again (I did so when I first saw evidence on the bed), and hope they're gone. I won't feel comfortable sleeping in there until I've completely removed and disinfected everything. Haven't done so yet because I've just been staying out of there completely, afraid of moving something and having mice scurry all around me. :scared::scared::scared: I should check into the cost of paying a cleaning service to do all of that, if that's an option.

Hi Deb, on the tail of that lovely scarf :cool1:

Another mouse this morning. Fortunately, I ended up buying traps that are enclosed so I don't have to see it. I heard it scrabbling around inside. YUCKY!!!! Just when I think they're gone, I find another......every time.

I went MIA from the computer this weekend, but had a great time.
We went to Prince George for the weekend and got the Christmas shopping done. I had a girls night on Friday and went shopping with my sister, Ken's sister and Baby Emily (6months old). She was a sweetie, and her mom is so funny as she is quite nervous to let the baby out of her hands and sight. :lmao: Saturday Ken & I went shopping while the kids visited with their aunt & then grandparents. :thumbsup2 Sunday a bit more shopping before we headed home. Kaleigh went to a year end party for her soccer and Santa was there. Unfortunately, she ended up not feeling well and having a fever for the evening. Today is a Daddy-day for the kids, and its so cold -33C (-27F) this morning, that we kept Shaelyn home from school. Wish I could have stayed home all day with them, but I'm here at work.

:grouphug: to all who need them.

Deb - I totally understand your feelings about your father. I have no contact with my father and occasionally wonder if I should open that door again. My parents split up when I was 10 and he was horrible for making efforts to see my sister and I. After a few years he just quit coming around, and instead every few years would initiate contact with me through a third party (At 16, it was through my boss; in grade 12, through the school principal; when I started the job in Quesnel, he sent flowers to my workplace on my birthday). The first couple times I would go see him after he'd initiate things, but he never went anywhere with it. He did tell me that he had found it easier to pretend my sister & were dead than to actually attempt to have a relationship. I gave up on him. I'm blessed with a wonderful mother, and in my teens I actually gave her mother's day and father's day gifts a few years; after all, she was doing it all, she deserved all the credit :thumbsup2

Deborah - the ornament with all our names was bought and then I just wrote all the names on it! I really like have our family tree ornament on our Christmas tree!:goodvibes

Who knows anything about the Wii Fit? I'm thinking about getting it. I got an email advertising Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatium 2010 for the Wii. I'm assuming it's for the Wii Fit. Is that correct? Then it says Balance Board sold separately and not required for play. What does that mean? I think the Wii is different from the Wii Fit. Is that correct? Can I play Jillian Michaels on either one? I'm so technically challenged.:confused3:confused3:confused3

Deb - I've got both the Wii Fit and the Jillian Michaels game. If you haven't already ordered it, I don't recommend Jillian's game. It is not nearly as good as the WiiFit. The WiiFit is much better at giving good instructions and your person on the screen better mimics what you are actually doing. I found Jillian's quite frustrating to figure out (Ken too) and we are both used to video games. The Wii is the main machine. The WiiFit is the balance board with game. Now there is the WiiFit Plus, which I think comes with the balance board now, if not its About $20 on its own, and is the upgrade for the WiiFit. The WiiFit Plus is on my Christmas list and hopefully Ken or Santa will be bringing it for me.

I'm out of time and must get back to work! I'll be back again later :goodvibes

Many of us have seen that Marilyn is in the hospital. Here is John's post from FB:

Marilyn has been admitted into the surgery ward in Harrogate hospital. She is comfortable now and is on morphine every 4 hours. The NHS have been fantastic. I am not sure how long she will be in as they are doing more tests. Thank you all for your concern. She is a tough old boot as we say in the uk so I am sure she will be fine. She even has her own private room.

Let's try to keep updating his posts here as well for those of us not on FB.

Nan

Shannon - sorry to hear about your dad. What a shameful thing to think that his children were not alive :sad2: You are right your mom and dad did do both jobs :thumbsup2  Hope Shay is better soon

Did anyone guess Urinary Tract Infection on top of everything else??? :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'm going back to bed... I'm sure I'm toxic from all the meds... if you see a glow coming from the north east... That'll be my house... who needs Xmas lights after all the scans I've had...
