I have to stop saying I think the mice are gone because every time I say that, I see one. I just saw one.

Kathe :

I'm so sorry for your loss. Even if you had not been close in the past years I'm sure this is a big upset and sadness. Please know we are all praying for you for strenght and support as you work on the details of his burial. Dealing with your other siblings I know can be hard and again, prayers for support coming from me and everyone else I'm sure.

Whenever you need a laugh and giggle we're here for that too

I'm calling tomorrow on our TA. I still keep hoping that I'll rebook it as it nears. If we sell the porsche I am for sure, Paul and I agreed on that :thumbsup2

Thank you Nan  I just don't know how to deal with all of the different emotions right now. Death is so final, there's no chance to go back and try to fix anything...even though I do know in my heart I never had the power to fix my brother's life...only he did.... still...I wonder... what if....

I'm sorry you have to cancel the TA  I do understand though...and I'm still hopeful you will be able to rebook:wizard:

Oh Kathe, I'm so sorry, this is so sad. I'll pray that he can now find peace where he couldn't in life.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Holly  Thank you. This means a lot to me. I certainly pray that he is at peace too. But oh how I wish he could have found peace in life:sad1: When I lost my husband it was so hard and so sad, but I do remember so very many happy times and that helps. I don't have those kind of memories of my brother. He was very troubled :sad2:

I can't imagine how hard this must be.:hug::hug::hug::hug: Just remember, we're always here to take your mind off the rough times. :grouphug:

It's only a light dusting and it's only falling very lightly, but it's the first snow this year!!! The last time we didn't have snow in October or November was in 2001 (heard that on the news yesterday)!

Good thing I went out and bought my winter coat and boots today! Now I'll be warm at the zoo tomorrow after work! It's called "Wonderland of Lights" and the whole zoo is decorated, lots of lights, Santa and Mrs. Claus are there, there are kids' crafts to do, and sugar cookies to frost and put sprinkles on...yummy! :goodvibes

The deed is done. I cancelled our East bound Transatlantic today.

I also finally met with my new manager today. I'm going to be very busy boy, but an employed boy at least.

We will have to replan the Edwardian Tea for the Expedition to the Yukon... Do you have an outfit for that yet?

:sad2: I'll miss you! I knew you weren't going, didn't realize you hadn't actually cancelled yet until today.

I, on the other hand, paid in full today. I was able to drop to a cat 12 from my cat 11, keep my cheap airfare and save another $500.00 :cool1:

Nan, I'm sorry about the job.Something better is just around the corner, you wait and see

:grouphug: for all that need them. I won't list all your names, I'm afraid I'll leave someone out.

I'll try to read when I can, but may not be posting too much for a bit. I'm very overwhelmed in my life right now. It's so very busy here, and I really did think I was adjusting, but I got some sad news yesterday and am not coping very well. My eldest brother has passed away. I, along with the rest of my family, had not seen or heard from him in years. It is a very sad story. He just couldn't stop the alcohol and drug abuse that started when he was a teenager. He passed three weeks ago but is still not laid to rest because until someone found me yesterday, they had been unable to find any next of kin :sad1: I am still getting details from police and waiting for the coroner to call me. I am going to visit another brother of mine tomorrow to share with him the very, very sad details of his life that I am starting to find out. We will have to decide together what we will do next, as none of the rest of the family will have anything to do with my brother, even in his death :sad1: If you would say a prayer for my late brother, David, it would be appreciated. Thanks

Kathe...

We went through something very similar... My uncle Kevin was a very troubled person - abusive, alcholic, gambling - we would get phone calls from him at 2 am from wherever he was (usually a casino...) He was also very over weight and had more health problems than you could name. He died several years ago and we did not find out until weeks after. To this day we do not know where he is buried or what his daughter decided to do.

Know that his suffering is over - and hold onto any good memories you may have of him.

We're here for you always... :grouphug:

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S GONNA SNOW IN HOUSTON BEFORE IT SNOWS HERE??????

Brian's hoping for a snow day... what was the trick that Lisa used to have the kids do when they were wishing for a snow day??? :rolleyes1

Oh Kathe, I am so sorry, my dear... Such a tragedy! I sincerely hope your brother's at peace now and that you can share the coping burden with your other brother...

Kathe,

I'm so very sorry for your loss and what you must be going through now. Hugs to you and any support you need.

Lots of these for my pals who are having trials and tribulations (or just want one). And some of this too pixiedust:

The deed is done. I cancelled our East bound Transatlantic today.

I also finally met with my new manager today. I'm going to be very busy boy, but an employed boy at least.

This post could nearly have been mine.

I cancelled the WBTA yesterday also. No cruises in 2010, but hopefully two in 2011...I will at least keep the Panama as I have a commitment for that (and possible more family joining in), plus I will NEED a two week vacation by then!

Have had more tasks assigned at work (eliminating a position and doling out the duties to four of us), so I'll have the 'opportunity' of more overtime. Think I'll compute how many hours of OT it would take to pay for the Panama Cruise and see if I can meet that 'goal'. :sad2: I just have to survive it!

.

Kathe, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers for some healing and understanding. You too need to find peace with this. David is fine now, but it is you and your other brother who need to grieve. Grieving is different for every person in every situation. I learned that when my tears for my mom were different than my tears for my best friend Brian. Mom was expected, Brian was a shock and too early and I didn't find out until 3 months after he was gone. It's so very different. I loved them both as I am certain you love David still. Hold onto that. Keep your childhood memories of growing up together and cherish those. Hugs and Love to you Kathe. We're all here for you when you feel the need for more.:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I'm sorry Ian and Jackie that you had to cancel your TA trips. It's funny because I had to cancel my Southern Christmas cruise too. I don't feel bad about it because I currently have 6 cruises booked over the next two years. I need to make payments on them starting immediately in the New Year.....I can't believe that 2010 is less than a month away. And I was just getting used the the double 00s. I'll be saying 0-10, 0-11....all the way past 0-16 probably. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Deb... I think LOTS of people are changing around their cruise plans... Keeps Disney on their toes at least... :upsidedow

Well... it is snowing in Houston... my sister hasn't driven in snow in 18 years... and Brian has never done so... I have texted him instructions on how to put the car into 2nd gear and beware of black ice... hopefully they will cancel the Xmas show he's in tonight...

& I still think it's unfair that he gets snow 24 hours before I do... :rotfl:
