The thought of a flotilla of purses perked up Sukie's day. Though he did say, "Why aren't they coming when it's warm?"

Thanksgiving in July sounds fab!!! Kinda like QVC's 'Christmas in July' - FYI one of my fave day's of the year!!! :santa: ;)

A couple of us are bringing in DVDs and we'll pick one. I'm brining Princess Bride, An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Ernest (with Colin Firth!) Bride & Prejudice....leaving the Disney ones at home! :lmao:

.

OOOH great choices!!! I esp. love Princess Bride - tho I didn't realise that Mandy Pantinkin out of Crim Minds was the swashbuckling Montoya for AGES!!! :rotfl:

HOORAY....WOOHOO....GO MONI, GO MONI....So glad you'll be onboard with us. We can check out the tile loungers together and talk about Nana.:laughing::laughing:

You didn't just say that DID YOU :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Leave my loungers alone or I'll send the snoring man to sit on the one next to you :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Mon - Glad you got on :thumbsup2 Who are you sharing with?

Deb - Hate the sound of that story. Sometimes friends (or sisters) have to make their own stupid mistakes :sad2:

Oh I lov spritofchristmas but I wait and see in New York what it like...

Scottishwee35

It was great!!! I had the best day - tho' that could be all the pink champagne I drank... :goodvibes Next year I'm driving up to London and doing ALL my shopping there - it was fabulous... :santa:

I'm running off to the doctor with Ray soon. I'll be sending his daughter an email later....just so I have proof that I informed her....better than a phone call.

I expect her husband to start trouble when Ray is gone. He has a small insurance policy that me and my bro are beneficiaries on. My brother has promised to hand his portion of the check over to me since I have been paying for Ray and no one else. I know that Karen's husband is going to challenge us so that he can get the money instead of me and my bro. He has started in with us before when Ray first fell down the stairs. He likes to throw his weight around because he thinks that he's important. That's why we don't talk to them anymore. I've got to cover my butt. I'm sure that I will be challenged later. After everything that I have done for Ray they should be thanking me instead of challenging me. But when there's money involved....even a small amount....people can get ugly....well, some people. Better that I send an email instead of a phone call.

Oh Deb...:hug::hug::hug: Why are people so crappy..? :sad2:

It has always scared me how people get over money. That's why I jumped through all sort of legal hoops to make sure that Sukie is protected if anything happens to me. Our gray marriage status doesn't protect him. It's sad, but it's my own sister that I'm protecting Sukie from.
So true, Ian. Money makes people's worst side come out despite themselves... :sad2:

I'm gulping down my soup.

I am so stressed today. Meetings with 2 directors from NY where I was in the hot seat for 2 hours.

I also have a project that I told them is going into pilot in 9 days, because that's the plan however I also know that it's going rapidly down the toilet and won't happen unless there's a miracle.

I'm so stressed that I have a headache and my neck is so stiff that I feel like my head is going to snap off.
:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

We're celebrating my birthday today at the office with lunch and a movie! :thumbsup2 Lunch catered and we're taking over the boardroom and watching a 'chick flick'. A couple of us are bringing in DVDs and we'll pick one. I'm brining Princess Bride, An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Ernest (with Colin Firth!) Bride & Prejudice....leaving the Disney ones at home! :lmao:

.

Now is it odd that we own all of the above DVDs with the exception of Bride and Prejudice?

:thumbsup2 got a nibble on my resume. I had an email reply with a list of bean counter questions. I feel kinda silly answering some basic questions at this point in my life (and with my resume, since it's pretty beefy) but I did answer and now I hope I did scare off the job. It's a low end job, but cash coming in is the desire now and low/no stress for me.

fingers crossed...

Ian tell 'em to bite me (well you anyways)

Awesome, Nan!!! Fingers (and the rest) crossed for ya!!!

MY DEPOSIT HAS BEEN PAID!! I'M ON THE MAIDEN VOYAGE!!! (4 adults in an 11C gty....old cat 12 :) )

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOO FLIPPIN' HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Nan - I'm squeezing in w/ Will, Mickey & Janet (Mick's Mom). They were my other sailing mates on the PC cruise :)

The following are all the Thieves that are sailing on the Dream maiden voyage....so far:

Kaz, our honorary thief
Lisa/DL5
Kaylee
Monica
Deb

What a short list. For Tortola, the list was almost a page long. What a difference the price makes. I hope all my thief friends get to sail on the Dream during her maiden year. I can't wait until we can all talk about it here.:cutie:

Add us to the list  Albert & I are booked on the Dream MV
Having a great time here at WDW
Just off to meet Monica for dinner

Ann

GREAT!!! Something else then to talk about tonight!! :lmao:

See you in a little bit - drive safe!

OK, I'm back from my über-poopy day.

It was a meeting with these two directors, my boss, and two of my colleagues.

The NY directors (or they may be VPs) sat on either side of me, one on my right and one on my left, staring at me and grilling me for 2 hours.

I don't even know what was coming out of my mouth. Even my boss, who I've known for 10 years couldn't believe it. It was like I was suddenly channeling the entire Harvard Business School. It was like was possessed. I'm surprised my head didn't spin around and I didn't start spitting out wing tipped shoes and attaché cases.

I think they would have believed me had I told them I was having clandestine trysts with the billing system.

There was a little voice deep inside of me that wanted to scream at these people, "Oh go p i s s off."

You didn't just say that DID YOU :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Leave my loungers alone or I'll send the snoring man to sit on the one next to you :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We need to try them out for you...make sure they're :worship: worthy of your tush :rotfl:

Sorry, we're hard core traditionalists. Thanksgiving will be in November. Also because I get 2 days off.

You'll just have to pack the winter purses.

Actually, November is not really cold here in Chicago. It is autumnal nippy but not cold. Probably no worse than when Miss Cheri came to look after the manor and the hounds.

Ah, that lovely four day weekend. :thumbsup2

That's what I miss about 'real' jobs! We have to go back to work the Friday after Thanksgiving...even though they will allow an entire business department to take it as a vacation day (including the switchboard operator)...all to avoid making it a company holiday and therefore having to pay holiday rates to News and Engineering. Those of us (in the business departments) who come to work that day, usually get sent home mid-day, which is a bummer for those who had to take a whole vacation day in order to stay home/travel.

So...you declared your birthday a company holiday???

Send it in writing... certified... she has to drag her butt to the post office to sign for it... then you really have proof she got it...

Does she know she'll have Nan to contend with?

Sending many of these... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Try to relax tonight and start over again tomorrow...

One good thing did happen today ... They never asked me about my wife.

Another good thing happened today ... Sukie finished his book. Now come some rework.

Also maybe he'll move his butt and start looking for a publisher (like I told him 2 years ago).

WHO SAID THAT!!!!!

::yes:: Sukie knows that since I'M YOUR WIFE, I'm getting the dough for the cruise life I intend to live even when you're gone!!!!

One good thing did happen today ... They never asked me about my wife.

That's because they are SCARED OF ME:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::mad:

fingers and other body parts crossed... Good luck!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Ok, here's what I just sent to Ray's daughter:

Hi Karen,

Dad is fine, don't panic. I just took him for a physical today. His blood pressure is good and he's very healthy physically. He has some arthritis and some problems with weak throat muscles when he swallows. They have him on a soft diet with thickened liquids. They monitor his eating and make him slow down and swallow with his head forward. He's doing great physically.

I'm writing because I have noticed he is declining mentally. Recently we just bought new razor heads for his razor. He said it wasn't working. We took it and looked at it for him. It just needed to be charged and cleaned. It worked fine. He has been doing this routine for the past two years and now he forgets. I took him to vote on Tuesday and usually he follows my conversations and participates....especially if I talk about mom. I told him that we're picking him up this weekend and taking him to the mausoleum....we do it once a month. He usually will talk about her or acknowledge that he's going. Nothing. I got nothing when I mentioned him going to see her.

It's not his hearing aids. He got new ones less than 2 years ago. On election day I also told him about my neighbor on the news recently. Dad connected to that and said he saw it on the news...then he repeated it the rest of the car ride back to Mrs. Bush's. That was the only thing he connected with me about the whole time we were out.

For the past 2 years he has good days and bad day, more good than not. Now I would say it has reversed. I'm writing to let you know that if you ever want to see him where he knows that it's you there, you better do it soon. If you wait any longer he may not recognize you one day. He has your picture and the kids' pictures out in his room. He has his wedding pictures in his room. That's all. I gave him pictures of Tristan and Casey and he takes them down and puts them in a drawer. He only wants your pictures out.

You might want to come and visit him some time soon. Mrs. Bush's is a very nice place and he's usually very pleasant to be with. Even their food is good. He has a nice room, probably the nicest one in the place. He has his own room with a private bathroom. He's very happy there and they take good care of him. It's nothing like it was the last time you were here. Just consider doing it for his sake. He would really love to see you all.

Best,
Deb

This is her last chance. If she doesn't come now....she won't ever see him again. So sad.

Very good!!! Hope you get a response... whatever it is..it's on her now...

Hugs Ian, thanks Holly, Fun Marilyn and GOOD PIXIE DUST LUCK Nan.

Shannon, you rock....I love that you called Karen a twit. I laughed so hard.

Hi Deborah, Hi Michelle.

Hi Deb!!! :yay:

HOORAY....WOOHOO....GO MONI, GO MONI....So glad you'll be onboard with us. We can check out the tile loungers together and talk about Nana.:laughing::laughing:
