I wonder how the streamlining test will work out. I know often, when we travel, usually Ken & I the girls tell me what they want and then they go find a spot to sit while I get all the food. Its so much easier than having the kids and bags going through the line ups. I understand the logic of it from Disney's standpoint, and I think part of switching to backless stools is to be less comfortable so people don't linger.

Other changes made to the quick-service restaurants include self-ordering at Pecos Bill's and smaller stools without backs at the tables. Disney says these stools allow an extra chair to be placed at the tables, as well as to help keep the aisles clear.

, and I think part of switching to backless stools is to be less comfortable so people don't linger.

Exactly what I was going to say. I wouldln't even sit at a table with stools instead of chairs!

.

then week after 17th we are on holiday for a week - school holiday woo hoo but not go abroad so maybe drive down to England to see friends for couple nights then York...

Okay, so I cant' stay away after all!!!

Hey, Deborah, if you make it to within striking distance of London, let us know. That's the week we're going to be in London. We arrive on the 18th. We are planning a day trip out to Oxford one day and maybe a day trip to Brighton another (but we don't have set days for any of this yet). Other than that and tickets to see Les Mis on Wednesday night, we're pretty free. We'd LOVE to see you if you're in the vicinity at all. We won't have a car, though.

Then we head for Paris on the 26th for another week. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Hi Tracy....so great to see you here from time to time. Thanks for the comments about Ella...you know because you have two like her.

I was just talking about you and your neighborhood. Me and John are booked to cruise out of LA in April 2011....we're doing the B2B LA-Vancouver-Alaska. We want to stay in the same neighborhood because we loved it there. I know it's way far away still....but I would love to meet up with you and the family and Woody and Mrs. Woody again for dinner at the Rodondo Beach pier. We'll talk when it gets closer. Me and John had such a good time that night at dinner. We would love to do it again....with an even bigger group this time maybe. Lots of Thieves are doing the same B2B...hey, what do you have planned for Spring of 2011? Want to join us?

We would definitely be up for another meet here when you come out. We had such a great time that night and we'd welcome the chance to see everyone again.

We are currently booked on the Panama Canal cruise. I couldn't resist the "specialness" of the last time a Disney ship will go through the canal (although I guess in theory they could bring the Magic out here to join the Wonder someday, but I'm not counting on it). So that will make the Vancouver repo out of reach for us in the same year.

Sadly, there's a chance we won't be able to do either. We're still waiting to see. Erik is in the process of applying to colleges even as we speak, and if he gets into his first choice, they start back up the 2nd week of January so he wouldn't be able to join us. It just feel so sad to think of cruising without him that we might not go. He'll still be in school in April so cruising then would be out also. The only option would be a summer Alaska cruise in August, so we could still at least get a cruise in, but 7 days just feels so short now! We just don't know yet. Wish I could afford to do all 3!!! (and still pay for college)

These are some recent pictures from the local paper....some were taken by the helicopters doing fly bys yesterday.

Here's Mike: (Well this one wasn't taken yesterday)

Tracy - Loved the pix and article about Eric!

Deb - Loved seeing who your neighbor was and what he did!

I have to share something very cute! As I was sending Tyler to bed tonight, he asked me for just a few minutes to do something secret. Um.....OK. He kept telling me to keep my eyes closed if he came out. Later, after I read his bedtime book, he asked me if I'm going to bed soon. I told him not for a while. He told me not to wonder what's going on if see something strange. Um.......OK. I've been in the living room ever since, until a few minutes ago when I went into my bedroom to put pajamas on. There was a toothpaste box sitting on my bed. Strange, but I picked it up to get rid of it and opened it just because it felt too light to have a tube of toothpaste in it, but didn't quite feel empty. Here's what was rolled up inside, sort of like a message in a bottle:
