I'm so lazy today! I did set my alarm to get up this morning, but I must have turned it off or ignored it. I have no memory of doing either, but I must have because it was 11:30am when I woke up. BUT, that's still a decent time for me to get up on a non-work day. The bad part of that is that I didn't do anything productive. I've been sitting on the couch, watching a DVD and channel-flipping.

I should do dishes, clean the guinea pig cage, do laundry, pack, go pick up a prescription refill, do yardwork, etc. I just don't feel like doing any.

Here is your request Michelle.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

very good news Holly I say WAY TO GO TYLER TOO !!!:thumbsup2

Great job Tyler! Its fantastic that the camp was willing to work with him, and he got a great experience! And at 6yo, going to a 3day camp is a big deal for all kids in my opinion!

I wonder if this is what the people on The Biggest Loser show always have on their arms: http://www.bodybugg.com/

It looks like a really cool gadget!

Yes that's exactly what they wear. There's some people on the WISH threads that have bought them and like them, but they are expensive.

Well, that's really crappy. Screw them, I'd say get the other one, but it costs more. Decisions, decisions! I'm sure you'll figure it out. What does Shannon think?

A few days ago, Shannon was voting for the 1 person one, and didn't care that the console was missing, as I think we'd have to take it off when have a kid sitting in there with us, so that piece would just get left cluttering up our garage. Now I think the 2-person one is better, since Shaelyn has said she wants one that's got enough room for her. I think she'll be happier sitting in her own seat with her own paddle. Then in a couple years, she might get her own small kayak, and Kaleigh can move into the 2-person one with Ken, and I'll be back in the old one by myself :thumbsup2

Even if he hadn't liked camp, that would have been fine too, I'm just thrilled that he didn't have any issues there because that surely must be a huge self-esteem boost to be able to succeed with something most other kids get to do every summer. :goodvibes

Makes sense to me! :thumbsup2

LOVE IT!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well today I'm trying to decide what type of Kayak to buy as our second one.

We currently have a Perception Prodigy 10

And now I'm trying to decide between:
Necky Manitou II tandem:
manitou_II_sm.jpg

or the Wilderness Pungo 120:

The tandem would easily be my first choice except it is almost 15' long and weighs 75lbs. That might be a bit tough to lift on to the roof of my vehicle by myself.

The Pungo is a good choice except I'm not sure how long we can keep the girls sitting in a single comfortably, and I don't like the store I have to buy it from.

Price difference you ask?

Tandem = $1329
Pungo = $825

Go for the bigger one... the girls aren't going to shrink... :flower3:

So who do we contact to ask them to CLOSE our old thread before I go INSANE?! ;)

I did it... it's safe to stay over here... :thumbsup2

We call them tick marks around here too.

Michigan... :sad2:

Just let it die a natural death Holly. You will be better for it ...

Yes... Ken has offered to go over and stick a wooden stake through it... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

The 2nd one looks better (the tan one) because it looks like it has cup holders.

I have some BIG, BIG, BIG news to share! It wouldn't be a big deal for most kids, but it definitely is for Tyler! Long ago when I was tossing the camp idea around in my head and had already decided against it, Tyler asked me if he could at least try the 3-day first-times mini-camp. His psychiatrist told me he'd hate to not let him at least have a chance to try. I called the director of the camp and had a long conversation with her. She told me that while they don't call themselves a special needs camp, they find lots of kids with issues come through there simply because they're a really small camp. Their ratio is 4-6 kids per counselor, which amazed me because where I went to camp there were 10-12 kids per counselor. She told me she'd be willing to let Tyler try the 3 night camp, and that she'd put him in a cabin with 4 kids total and would also assign a counselor in training to work with his counselor to sort of be that one-on-one person if needed, to divert or distract or take Tyler away for a break alone or whatever might be needed. The only condition was that we agree to come right away if they call us to pick him up. She told me that she's found that kids like Tyler actually do quite well there because being outdoors is so calming, and they keep them so active too.

She really made me feel comfortable with it, so I agreed to let him go. When I emailed his dad to tell him about that whole conversation and to tell him Tyler can go, he told me he would take those days off work and would camp at the KOA campground right across the street from where Tyler would be, that way, if he got kicked out, he wouldn't be as completely devastated because he'd at least get to finish camping those days, just with his dad instead. I couldn't believe his dad came up with that idea! :thumbsup2

SO.......he left Sunday and his dad brought him home Wednesday.....NO PHONE CALLS from camp, NO incidents at all! The 2 counselors assigned to Tyler's cabin told his dad they had NO problems with him at all and that he did great, no differently than any other kids! :yay:

I talked to Tyler and he told me he had such a great time and asked if he can do the TWO WEEK camp next year! ;) I told him he can do ONE week next year and 2 the following year. He told me he bought something for me at the camp store (his dad sent money with him to spend there) and he can't wait to tell me all about his time and sing me all the camp songs! :dance3:

I'm so proud of him....this is a HUGE accomplishment for him!

WOOHOO!!!!

Way to go Tyler!!!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ken.... THIS is the way to do it...

WAY TO GO TYLER!!!!!!!!!!!

BEST CAMPER OF THE YEAR!!!!!

That's actually one of the reasons why I don't like the store I have to buy that one from. Apparently that store isn't selling that boat with that console (but they can't explain to me why not). So the console doesn't come with it. They also informed me they can't order one in for me either (again, no explanation as to why not).

Cause they're too busy stocking Tobaggans for the Winter...

So Tyler's stepmom called me to tell me Tyler told them he's going to Tennessee tomorrow for fireworks and she wondered what time I planned on picking him up in the morning. She said, "That's like a 4 hour drive, right?" :rotfl2:
Ummm......no, it's 8 1/2 hours. :lmao: Her blond is showing again. :rotfl:Anyway, I told her my stepbrother suggests we leave at 5am so we can have plenty of time to swim in the afternoon and enjoy the giant party he's having. She let me talk to Tyler's dad and they aren't thrilled about having to get Tyler up before 5am, so they're letting me pick him up tonight instead. :rotfl2:

I have officially asked the Mods to close the other thread... it's safe to stay over here now Holly... :goodvibes

I know, I saw, thanks! :thumbsup2

Now.......could you run up to Walmart and pick up my prescription refill for me? ;)

Oh, here's the part I love.....it rained a bunch of days in a row up north, so Tyler's dad was camping in a tent for 3 nights in the rain! :rotfl2: (yeah, I'm mean, I know!)

OK, I'm off to get my butt in gear. I need to get some stuff done and want to take a 3 hour nap before picking Tyler up so then when we have to get up a few hours after we go to bed, he can go back to sleep in the car and I'll be able to stay awake driving.

Catch you all later tonight!

Anyone want to guess what it's doing outside my window right now???? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:
