So I'm sitting here online this afternoon, talking to my "office mate" Monica... we "share" cubicles next to each other while we are both working... and it starts to get pretty dark out... and it starts to blow and I hear the rain starting and then all of a sudden... it sounds like there's popcorn going off all around me... WE HAD HAIL!!!

I couldn't see out the window... ran down to check on the QM... then went to look for my camera in the semi-pitch dark (we had lost electric by then...) I ran upstairs to close a few windows and this is what I saw...

Can you say I had a "Little House on the Prairie" moment... "Pa... the crops...they're all gone!!!"

This is from mom's room

And what's left of my Petunias... (and I was just noticing how nice they looked this morning...)

Electric was out of over 3 hours... not bad, but we DID have to go over to Carm's :lovestruc for dinner cause we had no way of cooking...

BUT...

You know what they say...

After the Rain..... The Rainbow..... (and it was a FULL one!!!)

Thank you all for your prayers and Pixie Dust. Mom is still in the hospital and the doctors are baffled by her pain. They don't know what is causing it. They have done blood work and an MRI and are kind of doing this...:confused3. But she is staying in the hospital as they can manage the pain better the if she were at home.

I hate to ask, but have they ruled out leaving anything in her from the surgery? I'm still praying

Yeah I have some real good ones (like this one):

did anyone notice that while Deb and Monica were handing out the bling... Cherie was rifling through everyone's purses??? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So you have decided to resurface? Getting board being a Canadian potentate?

Nope. Just missed your smiling face. Your facebook isn't enough and you've stopped tweeting so you left me no choice ...

Ohhh they're back to normal again...:banana::banana:

Ken, don't fall for it. Michelle asks me that too.

Woody

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: (now if I could just remember what you look like...)

That's what I was wondering...

You mean like forcepts or something? I think that would have showed up in the mri , no? A little background.... My Mom put off having her gallstones removed for YEARS!!!! The pain was never bad enough or lasted long enough for her to get it taken care of. A few weeks ago she was doubled over in pain and still didnt want to go! So my stepdad made her promise she would go to her Dr. the following monday, this was a Friday. Well sat. it was so bad he took her to the E.R. Yup, need your gallbladder removed they told her! DUH. No biggie, kinda routine these days , right? Well thats what we were all telling her . V had it done , my brother had it done, both were out in a couple of days, no problem! Welllllll....... not mom!! Soon after they started the surgery she stopped breathing! She had some kind of reaction to the anesthesia and her tongue swelled up and blocked her airway! So they had to bring her out of the anesthesia. Buttttttt, they had to continue on with the operation, why I dont know. They tried to give her an epidural but didnt want to give her that much for fear she would stop breathing again! Sooooo ,the bottom line is that my poor mother had an operation with basically NOOOO pain killers or anesthesia!!! You've got to be kidding me is all I could say!!!! She said it was so painfful it was surreal!! I cant even fricking imagine!!! Its not over!!!! The next day they tell her because they were in such a hurry to finish the operation, that they left some stones in the duct that goes from the galldladder to the stomach. They will have to go in orally( down her throat) to remove the stones. So they go in a couple days later and do this second procedure. They stopped counting at 20 something stones that they had to remove from the duct! 4 to 5 or 6 is whats normal in the gallbladder and the duct!!! Holy smokes, no wonder she was in such pain for years!!! Well shes been home for three weeks today and the pain has still been there in varying degrees. So thats how we got to her ambulance ride last night. She said the pain was way worse than it was before the operation! So bad she couldnt move or breathe!. Well as of this evening when we went after work , like Venetia said earlier, the doctors are baffeled, and can only bring the young doctors in and stand around her bed like on the t.v show E.R, and do this...:confused3!!!!!

Oh , I almost forgot. When my mom had eye surgery, they didnt put her under far enough. Just enough that she couldnt move or talk, but she could FEEL THE WHOLE THING!!!! Saw the tiny scalpel coming and then her worst nightmare! She could feel it but couldnt stop them!!! So needless to say, if they have to go in again this time, shes gonna freak, like Gaylean said earlier!!!

Hello. I figured I better come on again. I was worried that Marilyn was catching up to me. What's new around here?

I don't think I will ever do that now!!!:rotfl2:

:scared1:Oh Bubba, your poor mom. That is just terrible. I do hope they find out soon what is wrong and she can recover copmpletely. How you recover psychologically from that I don't know though.

It get worse!:scared1: I can't imagine her ever going for any surgery other than emergency after these terrible experiences. That really is everyone's worst nightmare, and I have read of it happenning. Doesn't bear thinking about!!!

Sure Marilyn... you got up early cause you wanted to be first..... (wait... it's not midnight in California yet...

Anyway...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY G!!!!!!!!

Bubba...

sorry about your mom... hope she's better very soon...

maybe there's inflamation from the stones...

But I will bet you anything she's like me... I have a hypersensativity to anesthesia... I used to get seriously sick and it took alot to put me under and it took a long time to come out of it. (once I was sitting up in recovery talking to the nurses and they couldn't find my blood pressure...)

Make sure that she talks that over with the drs. and she might want to see an anesthesiologist for a consult just in case she ever needs it again. Lets hope not...

Sending Many of these... :hug::hug::hug:

I don't know, the weather has been weird.

We have had nothing but rain and people are wondering if we are living in Chicago or Seattle.

We have not had so many days of rain since 1929.

Bubba,

So sorry that your mom is going through this and it is just so traumatic. The whole thing is beyond traumatic.

I had my gallbladder out back in 2001, having had gallbladder trouble since 1976. I would often be in unbelievable, unendurable pain, so I can understand what she if feeling. Though not the trauma of the surgury.

My case written up in a medical paper, because I had been misdiagnosed for 25 years. They kept looking for stones. I never had gallstones, I had a chronically irritated gallbladder.

Your poor mother, I am sending her all my best.

And all my best for you and your family and loved ones too.
