I feel like it's already the weekend.
Tomorrow is going to be a short day. The company is closing at 3PM because of the holiday weekend.
Beginning at about 11:30 AM there's going to be a company celebration, because we have been chosen one of the best places to work for in Illinois.
This was an independent thing, that among other things collected information and conducted an employee survey.
20 large and 20 small/medium companies in Illinois were selected based on the results and our company made it in the small/medium category. It's actually quite an honor to be among the 20 best places to work in the state.
I've been with the company for 4 years as of this past April. I was employee number 23 to be hired, and I remember when we had temporary offices and I had to share a desk.
As far as my work life goes, it has been much better since I was put in my new role, which I'm still defining.
No pups reporting to me. No one to drive me crazy, and no one to clean up afterwards.
It does make me nervous from time to time, because my objective are so loose, but I have a one-to-one meeting with the CIO weekly and he tells me that I'm doing exactly what he wants me to be doing.
So does anyone here south of the border have big plans for this holiday weekend?
