Daniel made it home today about 2pm. He had his last exam at 7am this morning. Now two weeks of work and off to France to study for 8 weeks. He will have the time of his life. It is very good to have him home.

He should enjoy France. What is he studying Lisa? I presume it must have something to do with French!!

Wow, what a great opportunity! I wish I'd had the chance to do that when I was in college. Our pastor's daughter is in Turkey right now for 3 months and has fallen in love with the country. Some of her pictures she's taken are just beautiful!

Two of dear friends both have daughters hospitals.

Meghan finished her freshman year at NC State (full swimming scholarship) and came home with a headache.....got worse and worse. Her mom took her to the emergency room and they rushed her by ambulence to the large Fairfax Inova hospital. She had a blood clot on the base of her brain. She has been in the hospital for 5 days now and they do not know how long she will be there. They said she was minutes from death. Very similar to Actress Natasha Richardson when she fell on the bunny hill skiing and died. Questions whether she will ever be able to swim competitively again.

Lauren is a senior in HS. She dances with Gretchen and lives in our neighborhosd. 9 months ago it became apparent she had Anorexia. Lauren and her family have been trying to fight this with out patient help. She is now 86 pounds. She had gone to a 4 week inpatient program. So hard for everyone involved.

Rising children is so full of bumps in the road.

Haha, not much with French. Virginia Tech has a program where teachers from Dijon University and kids go to Blacksburg VA to study. 4 VA Tech profs go to Dijon France with 40 VA Tech Students. They are studing Finance, Accounting and International Business, The 4th class is French Culture. He does not speak French.

should be interesting for him!!!

So many kids are able to travel so much more than we ever could. We loved having Vanessa here....and I am happy Daniel gets to travel to France!!

Here's my contribution for Day 4. I only took a handful of pictures that day.

This was an exercise session with Goofy. Tyler is on the left in a black shirt. Surprisingly, no camo! ;)

Nan I hope your mom will be OK.

thanks Molly just called her and she seemed happy and feeling better. I'm grateful it is moving in the right direction now :thumbsup2

Nan, Sorry your mom has not been feeling well. When my mom had eye surgery, we thought it was going to be a "piece of cake" and it wasn't. Today (12 months later) she still complains about it.

I'm sorry to hear this Lisa. The good news for us is mom doesn't have a memory to even remember that she got sick yesterday, nor the pain. I hope her vision is ok.

Everyone I know that has had this surgery it was a walk in the park. Even for Paul's 93 year old grandma. Just got bad luck for us I guess.

I'm going to send prayers for you and your mom when I send them for me and my mom, I'm doubling down as they say in black jack, doesn't that sound good

Prayers for both Meghan and Lauren and their families.

I so worry that we have a limited time with our kiddos, we just can't tell what life will bring. This is part of my rational for travelling as a family and having moments to savor. I know we don't need to really go anywhere to have that, but for us it seems to work and we love sharing our travel memories, they always have us laughing and smiling.:woohoo:

Good Morning

Calmom - congratulations and along it is healthy baby. My three friends all had a baby girl recently (two of them want boy) as their second and third babies... so far 5 babies girls this year... I told them wrong year for boy ha ha... maybe you will get a baby girl this time or not??

At my age, I'd be happy with 2 arms, 2 legs and healthy organs! It is exciting to mix things up - the boys are very excited about a little sister. How a little sister will feel about 4 older brothers...well that is something else!

Lisa (calmom) - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so glad you're getting your girl :cutie: Hope all continues to go well for you
Thank you!

Glad to hear your Mom is doing better. I agree with the traveling with the kids...there is something about not having chores surround you, mail to go through, just carefree time. Boy, I need a vacation! I've been craving Hawaii lately. Our kids have never been...we are thinking a little bit about going over Christmas (if we cancel the EB transatlantic). The flight home is scarying me a bit with the EB....and losing an hour on the the sea days...but it sure would be fun to have all those sea days!

Lisa - our prayers to those daugthers in the hospital.

Home safe and sound! And I'm SO GLAD I took tomorrow off work. Can sleep in, do laundry and restock the house with WW supplies. :thumbsup2 It will be interesting when I get on the scale tomorrow, as my 'tracking' fell by the way side as the week progressed. I did eat what I wanted, but often left food on my plate (especially the starches). But I'm ready to be back on track.

.
Ian, Dianne booked her flights after Cheri & I headed to the airport, and she will be on the return flight with you and Sukie. I'll have her e-mail you her arrival info so Magical Express can be booked. :thumbsup2

That is quite sad and frightening.

One of our friend's daughters has also developed Anorexia this year. It was quite sudden - or else she kept it well hidden. She dropped to 77lbs and was threatened with long term care, but her parents said they would look after her at home She dropped more lbs, so had to me taken to hospital for emergency treatment as she could die at any time. After 10 days she was well enough to go home, but has obviously gone worse gain, so is being admitted to an adolescent treatment place today for a minimum of 3 months, It is very regimented with weeks of bed rest and a reward system. Her parents can only visit for short periods a weekends and on a Wednesday evening. Her mom is devastated of course and just wants it all to go back to how it was before and all having fun. I think the Harriet will be only 70 lbs now. If she hadn't agreed to go she would have been sectioned. That is a common shortened term for 'forcibly' being admitted under the Mental Health Act for a set period of time. Her parents are Christians and continue to pray for full healing. However, it is an upsetting time for them obviously. Her mom said in an email to me today that her heart is going to brea when she drives away from the hospital. She feels she has let her daughter down in every way.

What a cruel and hard to understand illness.

Good Morning Marilyn and Jackie.....nice to see you on here.

What are your plans for today Marilyn? How did you like the segway tour the other day?

Jackie, glad you had such a good time visiting Chicago. Great times, lasting memories.

Not staying here long, gotta go get some food before taking off with Ray today. Yesterday I was starving by the time I got home. I was way under my point count and not enough water. I drink at least 8 glasses a day. Yesterday I just grabbed a yogurt and a muffin, both WW, and ran out the door. I've got to try to do better today. So with that, I bid you adieu.

Have a great day everyone.

P.S. Nan....so glad your mom is better

P.P.S. Hi Lisa/Calmom......congratulations on going PINK!!!:lovestruc

princess:princess:princess:princess: LISA...CONGRATS! princess:princess:princess:princess:

Goodmorning ladies. I'm doing laundry, balancing my checkbook, unpacking and am very glad I took today off before heading back to work. At some point I have to head out and restock the kitchen too!

Deb, we have just had a game of Fantasia Mini Golf with some UK friends. Takes longer and is more fun!!!

We are forecast showers/thunderstorms, so we got out early. It was beautiful but has got more steamy as the day has gone on - building up to the storms no doubt.

Sweet Tomatoes tonight.

Hope the trip with Ray goes ok and you keep feeling well enough to keep going.
