Gee, only two posts since I left earlier today!

We had a great time at the birthday party, came home and I mowed for the first time this year, then we went for a bike ride and walk, then played in the back yard a bit, chatted with a neighbor who walked across the street, watched some of "Hotel for Dogs" during supper, tossed Tyler into bed.

Busy but fun day! :goodvibes

Well, we did lose a few of them to the wonders of WDW... so we have a little less to talk about...

And Bubba is being recommended for a 12 step program to get him away from Mafia Wars over on FB... :rolleyes1

Cheri:

I wish my memory worked as well as Tyler's does. I mentioned to him a bit ago that Ian and Sukie are at WDW this week and he asked me "What about their dogs?" I told him "Somebody else from our cruise, Cheri, flew in to stay with them." I told him he probably doesn't remember Cheri, but......then he stopped me and said, "I remember her. She came to our table at breakfast one morning and took our picture and she has gray hair." Sorry about that part Cheri, but at least he does remember you! And he told me there's a picture of you holding your lanyard card up. Right again. ;)

Wow! That's impressive! And nothing to be sorry about...that's how I look! Speaking of gray hair, I was sitting in a sandwich shop this afternoon, listening to a folk music jam session. One of the musicians walked past me, stopped, looked at me and then came up and said, "I just wanted to tell you how much I like your hair". I was totally taken aback, at first I thought he might be joking or something. I'd been out walking and sightseeing for about 6 hours and had no idea what my hair even looked like but I managed to get out a "thank you". He said, "I just think it looks really good, I'm starting to get a little (meaning gray) myself," and he rubbed his head--he had all this very dark hair. So I laughed and said, "Yeah, well, you'll just got to go with it!" Lest you think he was coming on to me, he was a youngish dad, there with his 2 sons and father.:lmao: Well anyhow, it made my day! I really like the color of my hair, BTW!

I've had two small patches on my face that I have to constantly put thick lotion on or else it turns into gross, flaky patches of skin on my face. Looks like dandruff, but on my face. Well, today I woke up to find about SEVEN small patches like that, but they're pink and scaly. GROSS! They don't itch, just looks sort yucky. I've never had excema, but that's sort of what it looks like, all over my forehead. I'm going to try Tyler's steroid cream we use for his skin issues and see if that helps. Yucky!

Holly, not to alarm you, but you really ought to get it checked out by a doctor. It sounds like the kind of spots my ex-husband use to get and they turned out to be skin cancers--not the really dangerous melanoma kind, but they needed to be taken care of, frozen off.

Speaking of grey hair....still have to color mine.:sad2:

BUT, got a pedicure, bought some new slacks, and even IRONED a shirt that I'm taking. Also tried on some other clothes hoping they would miraculously fit after only loosing 5 pounds...uh, not yet. No big night out on the town this trip...dressy casual is all I can come up with. Oh, better go polish my shoes!

....almost ready for vacation......
.

Jackie, I'm sure you've been checking the weather, but in case you haven't...rain is predicted for Wed., Fri., Sun. & Mon. It really isn't that cold, but a rain coat felt good to me. I've also been wearing long-sleeved knit shirts and jeans. When the sun's out, I push up the sleeves but in the shade or breeze I pull them down. Just FWIW....

That's scary. I'll call tomorrow to make an appointment. Thanks. I noticed tonight that one at the edge of my hairline, but just under my hair, is really thick. Gross.

Well, I'm wiped out from our busy day, so goodnight all! :cloud9:

Oh, I discovered a yummy and filling, low point treat by accident. I did go out and buy lots of filling low point things to eat, but have been calculating points on all the leftover things I still had on hand. I discovered that my cereal is only 1 point per serving. Bite size frosted mini wheats. A serving is 24 pieces, very filling, and just 1 point. This is without milk, which is how I've always eaten it anyway because I usually eat it on my way to work in the morning. So I've packaged up a few servings to take to work to have throughout the week this week. :thumbsup2

I'm sure that's old hat for you experienced WW people, but just wanted to share just in case.

Popping in to say hi everybody!

It was a busy weekend. Ken & I enjoyed the Montgomery Gentry concert on Friday night. Then on Saturday we went shopping and picked up bunkbeds for the girls and new dressers for them, plus we bought a new 46" TV :cool1:. We came home (leaving the kids with my sister) and set up their new bed with new bedding. Shaelyn has Tinkerbell and Kaleigh has Princess. Unfortunately, we ran out of time, so the dressers aren't put together and the TV is still in the box. :sad2: Now Ken's back to Prince George for 12 days :scared1: and its just me and the girls.

Gaylean & Venetia - great picture of you on the dancefloor

Cherie - sounds like you're having a great time in Chicago

And now I'm beat and forgetting all the other comments I meant to make after reading 20 pages to get caught up, so I'm going to go get the groceries put away and get to bed. :cloud9:

Nightly Eastwood Manor wrap-up:

Tonight went very smoothly! I tried a different approach, as I started thinking that maybe the problem was that I put the dogs to bed, but then I was up for another 30 min. after that, showering, etc. and that hearing me still being up was what was upsetting them. So tonight I got all ready for bed, then at the last minute I put them in their kennel. It did the trick! Ha! Only one tiny whimper, then silence. I did still drape the jeans over the kennel, just as a bit of insurance.:thumbsup2

I had a lovely day of walking around neighborhoods, shopping and sightseeing. Had some yummy Indian food, too! Tomorrow I'm going to go down to the downtown/loop area. I figured today, being Sunday, might be crowded down there so I'd wait till Mon. It looks like I have 2 more sunny days, then it's supposed to rain on Wed. so I'm going to try to do as much outdoor stuff as I can for the next two days.

night night!

So Cherie... can you tell who is whimpering?

I do agree that you should get it checked out. However, to put your mind at rest it is probably dermatitis or psoriasis. I have had a couple of bad incidents of dermatitis on my face, and do have mild psoriasis too.

Been so busy with my newest fund raising cause.

Gretchen's dance studio paired with a dance studio for autisic and Downs Syndrome kids. They need scholarships and a tap floor. Several of the 50 kids parents have lost their jobs and if they don't have help, these special kids will have to quit dance next year.

We did a proformance with our kids one dance and an ETM kid the next dance.

Those kids were the cutest kids I have ever seen in my life. The director of ETM (Expressive Therapeutic Movement) told me the kids NEVER in their whole lives had an audience of 400 clapping like crazy for them. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I was crying like crazy when the end came and all the ETM kids came out and took a bow!! I have never in my whole life seen 50 happier kids!! Then some of our girls gave each of them a GOLD metal!!

We also had a silent auction (beach houses, trips, a hockey stick signed by all the Capitals...pizzas.....127 different items) and we think we raised somewhere between $20,000 and $25,000.

We had a giving tree and a 50/50 raffle!!

So much fun.....we were on the Front page of the local paper too. Gretchen is the blond on the far left of the picture.

Here is the web site we designed for the show. If I get some pictures, I will post later on!!

I have something to tell you:
It is RCCI - Freedom of the Seas - one week at Cape Canaveral.
Scottishwee35

Don't worry about it not being DCL! Royal Caribbean is very nice. We are excited about the Freedom of the Seas being at Port Canaveral, too. We are considering a cruise this summer....or maybe in the fall, depending on our schedules. It looks like a very nice ship. We might drive over to the port to see it some time soon.

So Cherie... can you tell who is whimpering?

No, I can't tell, but I think it's just one of them and not both. If I didn't know better, I might think it was Sukie...:lmao: just kidding, guys!

Lisa, what a cool thing to do!

Speaking of gray hair.....I've decided to go with "SILVER HIGHLIGHTS":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

There was a short time where I had my hair highlighted, then I realized that it was looking pretty much the same as it would if I just let it go natural...this was about 25 years ago! I never colored my hair again after that. ;)

Cherie - you are such a caring dogsitter, and it sounds like you are having a great time.

Deborah - glad to hear your phone is fixed again. You've really had a lot of things break in the last few months. Hopefully, everything else will be okay. How is Olivia liking her football?

Lisa (DL5) - that dance fundraiser sounds fantastic!

:lmao::lmao:

I am still awaiting for football as they contacted me twice but still searching for her for girls football but I got emailed that they found one for her... as they will email me....

At school, I know one coach for Hibs football for boys but he want Olivia to join in this October as must be 10 years old... so that would be two football teams...

Just a quick drop in. Went to Seaworld this morning. I had forgotten what a great park it is.

Rode Manta which is having soft openings. What a fantastic ride, but it left me with a dreadful headache. :headache:Enough to say I won't be riding it again.:lmao:

Rode Kraken and saw the Shamu show and Clyde and Seymour, and wandered through a few animal areas.

It is hot hot hot though - probably didn't help the headache.
