We'll be off in about 1 and half hours. I'm a bit worried about this Swine Fever thing - not for us as we are on our way, but for our daughter and family who leave in three weeks for their first trip. Just hoping they don't close the whole world down.

Over here the media are really hyping it up. They are having a field day.:sad2:

Signing off now. Will check in in a couple of days. See you Sunday Ian and Sukie, V and family. Looking forward to meeting other too later in our stay.

Byeeeee. Take care and keep well.

I just finished reading the last 20 pages so FOR THE MOMENT I'm all caught up on this thread!:goodvibes

My big news (Jackie already knows this) is that I got a tattoo to celebrate turning 60! I really like it. It's been itching and peeling the last couple of days, but I can take it!:thumbsup2

I'm watching the world premier of X-Men on the news. It's being held in Tempe. Hugh J. just talked to the crowd, and Ryan Reynolds is there too. They're cute and all, but it doesn't look like NEARLY as much fun as the Pirates premier I went to at DL.

Love to everyone--I'll try to post from the Windy (and apparently, rainy) City!:grouphug:

Yes, I heard that the premier was at Tempe, and I thought of you! I love your tatoo! I wouldn't have the nerve to do it. GOOD for YOU!!!!:hippie:

sadly it doesn't look like you will read this since you may have signed off allready. I just wanted to tell you that while the swine flu is in our media alot, nothing is being done about it here. There are reports of people flying in from Mexico with masks on their faces, but that's it so far. We do have confirmed cases here in CA, up in Sacramento. They have shut down a middle school where the children go for a few days, so I shouldn't say nothing is being done. We have a HUGE Mexican immgration population here in San Jose. Lots of kids at school with Wilson will travel to Mexico thru out the school year (at varying times) to visit family. Paul and I talked about this last night. Sadly there isn't anything we can do to avoid a problem at his school today, other than tell him to wash his hands or keep him home from school (which isn't practical)

ok, that's about all I have to say on the topic.

I hope you are travelling safely Marilyn  (and then Cheri, and Ian and the rest....)

Thank you Nan.

You, Paul and the Kids were in my thoughts this morning as I was listening to public radio.

Hi Guys, I've been swamped for so long with work (and glad to be working) that I completely lost all of you. I'm logging on to make sure I'm subscribed but will have to come back to get caught up. Michelle sent me a kindly nudge to remind to get my butt back over here. Will fill you in shortly on all of our goings on. Someone give me a recap. I actually missed 2 whole threads and Ken and Shannon's entire visit. :scared1: I hope everyone here is well and am anxious to get caught up.

Hi all...

Just checking in - super busy and extremely exhausted... will have to go and read over today and probably tomorrow... but right now I must get some sleep...

(me...going to sleep at this hour... :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:)

Marilyn, I'm sorry I missed you earlier and didn't get a chance to tell you to have a great trip!

KELLY! Great to see you pop in!

All you CA folks have been in my thoughts, hoping you manage to stay far away from the swine flu.

Michelle, I'm glad you're finally getting some sleep at a normal time. You stay away from the swine flu too.

Swine flu is now in Michigan, one confirmed case in Livingston county, which is the next county over from mine, and as I'm typing this, the news guy just said there are 5 suspected cases in my county, but only the one confirmed. I was telling Tyler about it this morning on the way to school. I really worry, only because he still licks almost everything. :scared:

DEB? Are you lurking? Are you OK?

Debra, the swine flu is in Scotland too, so you and your family make sure you're safe too.

GREAT day today! Tyler had an awesome day at school (yesterday was really, really bad....threw away schoolwork, punched one student, kicked another in the stomach), so he was so pleased to have a great day today. His school had a fundraiser night at Chuck E. Cheese and all the kids came home wearing a sticker saying they get 10 free tokens, so we went after school. Stayed quite a long time because he found 2 friends from school to play with. I had one piece of his little individual cheese pizza, which is 2 points (based on the nutritional info I found on CEC website). YUMMY!

Then we came home and he rode his bike a bit while I walked with him, then we went for a long walk through the neighborhood, then we played in the backyard for a bit and swung together on his playset, then we checked out a couple websites he asked me to find for him. Lots of fun today! :goodvibes We managed to cram quite a lot into the short time after school. And he managed to squeeze a bath too, where we both blew bubbles and painted pictures on the tub with shaving cream. Just lots of fun today! :thumbsup2

Oh, and we somehow found time for ice cream too! I'm hooked on Skinny Cow products. They're super yummy, low points, and Tyler thinks they're great too. :thumbsup2

Oh, forgot to mention, 3 pounds lost my first week doing WW! This is the first time I've seen the scale go down in pretty darned close to a year because it just kept going up and up and up or staying the same. So that proved to me that WW really works! :dance3:

Marilyn, I'm sorry I missed saying goodbye! Hope you have a great trip! I'm looking forward to seeing you on the 16th :cool1:

Ian and Sukie, have a wonderful time on your trip too!

Same goes for Jackie and Cheri :thumbsup2

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's escapades ;)

I'll have to get caught up later. I'm worn out. Serenity is here for her sleep over :cutie: We had a great evening playing, but she did not wear down at the same pace I did tonight! I finally started to put her to bed at 10:00, but it took a few sessions of cuddling and rocking before she finally settled down about an hour later. Sure hope she's asleep for the night, I've got friends and family coming to visit us tomorrow. Hope everyone is keeping well

They just closed a school in Claremont, which is the next city over from us, for the swine flu. First Brooke gets fifth disease and now this :lmao:
