Love all the pics, Gay. Looks like they had fun. Did you make smores? And what did you need the bird trivia for?

We made smores. I needed the bird because the kids are doing a report on countries. I thought I could ask Marilyn but you seemed like an easier option ;)

And you parted Brooke's hair on the side. Make her look more grown up.

It's been parted on the side since she got it cut. I used to part it on the side but not when it was in two pony tails, which it usually was.

Gay, love the camp out pictures! :thumbsup2 I wonder whatever happened to my sit-upon?

 Hi Kelly!

.

I haven't made it to our thread for a few days, and I missed Marilyn leaving and Cherie's tattoo! I'll have to get on at home tonight where I can see the pictures.

Holly - :cool1: glad to hear you are happy with your weight loss. I'm sure your karate is helping as well as the WW. I have Skinny Cow chocolate ice cream sandwiches and they are good when I want a sweet treat. My new favourite snack is Quaker flavoured rice cakes - the tomato basil one is really yummy and only 1 point!

Kelly - Nice to see you back again!

Michelle - that's great that you were going to sleep at an almost normal time!

Kathe - Hope Serenity slept good for you last night!

Hi to everybody! Hope everybody is able to stay away from the Swine flu.:goodvibes

Oh, forgot to mention, 3 pounds lost my first week doing WW! This is the first time I've seen the scale go down in pretty darned close to a year because it just kept going up and up and up or staying the same. So that proved to me that WW really works! :dance3:

GOOD JOB!
Bravo!

(That's a WW thing).

I always set "mini-goals" for myself. They were not based on length of time but on pounds lost.

I set my goals in 3 pound increments.

Focusing on mini-goals rather than the big number really helped to keep me motivated.

As I tell members, I lost 3 pounds and then repeated it 23 times, which got me to my goal.

The house is clean and we're all ready for Cheri's arrival later today. Sukie will be meeting her at the airport.

I leave shortly to head up to the suburban city just to the north of us (Evanston) to start the conference I'm attending. This afternoon is the first of the tutorials.

Essentially, not being in the office, it's almost like vacation started.

On Friday, the last day of the conference, I have to scoot out and hurry home. There will be just enough time to shove the last minute things in the suitcase, and then we hurry out to take the L down to Midway. It's about a 50-ish minute journey for us via public transportation.

Cheri will be meeting Tallulah and Truman today. We've hidden all the duct tape, and the rope. We think Cheri will be safe.

Tonight I think we'll be going out to dinner, and tomorrow, Sukie is going to be giving Cheri the grand tour of the neighborhood, and showing her the ropes of getting around via the L.

You are going to have to yell louder than that.....she's in England getting ready to get on a cruise ship. :lmao::lmao:

I'm feeling better....a good night's sleep really helped. Don't know what was going on with the flushed/feverish feeling yesterday. Can't get sick, I have vacation in a week and a half.
yes I know I was jealous when I saw the photos of her in Mighty Britain.
Outside of WW I can talk about anything I want, but I have heard that not all of Dottie's point assessments are accurate.

A site I can talk about in meetings is:

http://www.hungry-girl.com/
I'll have to check that out - I always love additional motivation!!!! Down 16 lbs so far!!!!! YIPEEE!!!!

Boy does that bring back memories!!!

Lucky you - getting to visit with the sis and Cheri! Acutally you'll be seeing both my sisters... I hope you guys are prepared:scared1: - just kidding!

Please give Cheri a big hug for me on her 60th!!!! I missed seeing her the last couple of times her and Jackie got together. Take lots of photos - won't you Ian?

Yeah, it says on the WW site to do a small goal too. My big goal is 70 pounds, but my first one is 5. I'm more than 1/2 way to that first one. :thumbsup2

Cute pictures Gaylean! But......it looks like they camped in somebody's yard? Not at Girl Scout Camp? Looks like they all were happy all had fun! :goodvibes So, I'm assuming a sit upon is what you sit on?

I'm so worried about karate class tonight. Last time, it was such an intense workout, I had to run off the floor to go throw up. :scared: I was humiliated! It's embarrassing enough being the largest person in class, then I had to go and do that. Everybody was very supportive though, telling me it happens to lots of people. I think it was just a more intense workout than normal because every single person was completely soaked all the way with sweat. Gross.

I really wish our scanner at work was better because this picture looks all washed out. But here's Tyler's karate picture:

Gaylean, love all the camp pictures. They looked like they had such fun.

Holly, that karate picture f brilliant. he looks so cool.

sadly it doesn't look like you will read this since you may have signed off allready. I just wanted to tell you that while the swine flu is in our media alot, nothing is being done about it here. There are reports of people flying in from Mexico with masks on their faces, but that's it so far. We do have confirmed cases here in CA, up in Sacramento. They have shut down a middle school where the children go for a few days, so I shouldn't say nothing is being done. We have a HUGE Mexican immgration population here in San Jose. Lots of kids at school with Wilson will travel to Mexico thru out the school year (at varying times) to visit family. Paul and I talked about this last night. Sadly there isn't anything we can do to avoid a problem at his school today, other than tell him to wash his hands or keep him home from school (which isn't practical)

ok, that's about all I have to say on the topic.

I hope you are travelling safely Marilyn  (and then Cheri, and Ian and the rest....)

There were a few passengers at immigration at Orlando Airport with masks on. I think a plane from somewhere in S America had just arrived before us, or actually it could even have come from Mexico - I couldn't tell. I do know that it took a lot longer for them to clear immigration than it did those on the UK flight. Held us up 30 or more minutes!

Haven't sen the news since arriving, but I am gathering the outbreak is close to you. I agree there really seems that there is not much we can really do now.

Excellent - well done!

Hi Guys, I've been swamped for so long with work (and glad to be working) that I completely lost all of you. I'm logging on to make sure I'm subscribed but will have to come back to get caught up. Michelle sent me a kindly nudge to remind to get my butt back over here. Will fill you in shortly on all of our goings on. Someone give me a recap. I actually missed 2 whole threads and Ken and Shannon's entire visit. :scared1: I hope everyone here is well and am anxious to get caught up.

Kelly, great to hear from you. Miss you.

Greetings from Eastwood Manor! I love it here! I think I might never leave (don't tell Ian):rolleyes1

The neighborhood is wonderful, the doggies are so cute and Sukie has a BUNCH of CDs I'm going to copy. Plus Ian has a GORGEOUS new iMac that I can play on. Life is good!!! (just like my tattoo!)

Well we had a great flight and arrived early!! As I said a flight had just landed before us, so there was a long delay at immigration, but we were still at SSR by 3:45. It was hot an lovely. :cloud9: We walked to DTD and back. Made me think of Nan first, then the rest of the Thieves we met there the day before the cruise last year. Nan was the first person we spotted - walking past Giradellis when John and I were sitting eating our ice creams. We quickly finished, then I wondered if i could find her. Where? Well, I decided the Margarita Bar, and lo and behold that is where she was!!!!! So Nan, it isn't the same!

Animal Kingdom tomorrow.

Miss you all.

Marilyn and Cheri, glad you are both having a great start to your vacations (though Cheri's is technically a 'working' vacation).

I just made $100......by transferring my reservation to Peg's travel agent. :thumbsup2

Yes it was in someone's backyard. We have some five year olds so we had to make sure everyone could be away from mommy before we took them two hours away. On May 16 we are really camping
