I think I meant that once Don's mom passed, all the pressure was off and holidays got so much easier.

Don's mom and dad lived about 8 miles from us and mom mom and dad lived about 30 miles away. My MIL would not let us "share the day"...."you can spend next weekend with your family"....

Frank is so much more relaxed....as a matter of fact he has a DATE for Easter and we are going to a friends house for the day.

We are relaxed too and I hate to say this but I can't wait to not have to the pressure  We have a lot of other issues with them too so don't think I'm the worst person ever.

Ethan told Brooke that the Easter bunny stole the peanut butter and she said she was going to tell his wife on his wedding day that he thought the Easter bunny stole the peanut butter :confused3 OK here is the sad part. He said "when I get married, I won't believe in the Easter bunny" :sad1:
OK, that's sad........but I can't help laughing about the Easter bunny stealing the peanut butter! :rotfl2: Kids crack me up!

Whats for dinner, we just finished pork chops that I cooked in the bag with green sauce. It was yummy.

enchilada sauce? My teacher (at work) said she mixes her sauce with mushroom soup and it is excellent :confused3

Oh we had the best ribs EVER. New BBQs rock.

Well, time does bring all new and different problems....now we can't go anywhere together as my mom will NOT leave the our house and she can not be left alone. Don took the girls to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) last weekend and then Annie and I went to the beach to open up the house.

With Daniel home tonight, we were going to go out to dinner as a family. Mom started to cry...to hard for her to leave the house....so we ordered in and made the best of it.

It was a green tomatillo sauce. Ribs rock too. especially if they are babybacks.

Yeah, as much as I love my kids, my feeling is that all bets are off once they get married. I refuse to put that kind of pressure on my kids or their spouses. I hope they'll be able to do some holidays with us, but honestly, if they can't I'll probably just book a Disney cruise and hang out with all the great DISers!
Oh, I SOOOOOOO wish my parents were like this. Well, my mom doesn't care who she sees on holidays (and she's all alone). But my dad and stepmom expect everybody to be there for every holiday and if somebody's not (usually me) that person is sort of blackballed and given the cold shoulder for quite a while. :sad2:

then he must be in heaven. Pure pleasure. I know the feeling.

By the way have I told you all that I LOVE my easter basket.:lovestruc

I wish I would have thought about it for her. She told me today that she never gets one either. I guess I'm spoiled and rotten because I was talking about how I hated it :sad1:

I guess the "Grass is always Greener"

 Sorry to hear this. But you have such a good attitude about it. Making the best of it is about all you can do.

It seems so much better to me (I'm not there yet) that it isn't on purpose :confused3

The grass is always greener. It is hard when people get better and nicer gifts for your kids than you do. It is nice that we get to be alone a couple times a year. meaning they will babysit
