Then she actually asked us "how do you play this properly". So I brought out an old teaching book and showed her a simple song. She kept practicing the song for a good 30-45 minutes. She then told us she wants to learn how to play it.
So today we bought a couple of beginner lesson books to get her started. Hopefully she will actually take to it. Both Shannon and I used to take piano lessons. I took them for about 2 years and hated it back when I was in about Grade 4 or 5.

The whole hour was sparring, practicing 3 different kinds of kicks, some combat moves, a bit of self-defense, and I think that's it. I was surprised that I could actually do all of it after a few tries. I saw many advanced people who couldn't do things any better than I did. My favorite was a kick where you kick twice without putting the leg down: one kick to the ribs and the 2nd kick up higher (the head if we could reach that high) without putting the leg down between kicks. BAM, BAM!
