I'm now at work and still exhausted. However, I am still a morning person and this is my best time of day for analytical work (afternoons are reserved for more administrative work).

---------------------------------------------------------

Mary Poppins:

As I said it had it's moments. It was entertaining, but nothing earth shattering.

I suppose that my litmus test for musicals is whether or not it could be performed as a chamber production, without the fancy stage effects and hold up. Many of the truly great musicals can. They are supported by their book and score.

One thing I noticed when I got home last night, was that the Chase Disney Rewards card I ordered arrived, so that means tonight, I will order our annual passes. I will also phone DVC today and find out how I order the Tables in Wonderland card.

---------------------------------------------------------

There is going to be a new little arrival at Eastwood Manor today. My new iMac arrives. Sukie has wanted mine for a few months, and so I finally caved in, and ordered myself a new Mac.

I am not looking forward to the weekend, because it will be spent reinstalling applications.

I could do a direct transfer, but I don't like to do that for anything except data files. I much prefer to do fresh installs, so as to not drag across crap that I may not want.

It is like dominos, because first I have to migrate my Mac, then wipe the disk on my "old" iMac clean, do a fresh install of OS X (Leopard) and start the process again, to migrate from Sukie's 20" G5 to my 20" Intel iMac.

I am somehow going to have to fit all of this into a busy weekend. It's Passover next week and I have to make a concerted effort to go shopping for Passover food this weekend.
Well, hopefully the excitement of your new computer will help you get through the exhaustion.

Morning Thieves pirate:

Speaking of Chase Disney Visa (see previous post by Ian), when mine arrived this month they had upped the interest rate. Sneaky. So I called to have it put back and they said the lowest they were offering right now is 10.25 (I had 5.25). As I am carrying a slight balance right now (and will probably have to put some medical expenses on it), I'll be doing a balance transfer with my MasterCard. So now, instead of earning a bit of interest off of me...they get NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO. Apparently my 800+ FICO score isn't doing me any good here. :sad2:

.

Good morning all.

I'm exhausted and could hardly get up this morning. That's unusual. I was up way too late last night because of our theatre night.

We both enjoyed Mary Poppins. We weren't wowed by it, but it had some good moments. The one that we both thought was best was, "Feed the Birds."

Thats my favorite song from the movie.:thumbsup2

Good morning/afternoon everybody!

This is not good. I've only been here 2 hours (1 hour was spent chatting with co-workers who came in early today), and I'm already out of work to do! I have a LOOOOONG 8 hours left!!! :headache:

Good morning Holly, I have some work you could do. I'm kind of overloaded. My office clerk is still out on medical leave with no real return date yet. So I have work to spare.:scared1::laughing::laughing::scared1:

Hmmm ... I should check my rate. I'm really bad at looking at those sorts of things. I am not carrying any balances, but it would be good to be informed, as from time to time I do.

I only have a little bit that isn't the 0% for 6 mos catagory....it's the principal of the thing (well.....I guess it's the INTEREST of the thing)! :lmao:

My MasterCard is at 5.93 with no balance transfer fees, so Visa can kiss my $$ goodbye. Though I will charge stuff for the rewards and then transfer if necessary. Might as well earn rewards for my medical stuff, don't cha think. ::yes::

Oh, Ian, you may have gotten some introductory interest rate....just keep an eye on it in case it was a limited time kind of deal.

Thanks Connie!But we don't have disneyworld :sad2::sad2::sad2:Kathe

Did I tell you about the year we went to visit an old co worker of mine (we worked together at a hospital Lab in Dixon IL). anyway, she is from Hong Kong originally, and they moved back to Toronto. We went to visit them and it was DRAGON BOAT RACING:boat: weekend.....It's a BIG Chinese festival up there. We had such fun! I'd go b back to Toronto anytime, but I'd make sure I went to Niagara Falls again, too!

Hey, did anyone here get the email from DCL offering "Kids 17 & Under Sail Free?" Apparently it went out to CC members, but I NEVER get email from DCL so I wouldn't know! Much as I hate the thought of cruising in August, it's the ONE time our family might all be able to go, and Erik doesn't turn 18 until mid Sept!

ok roomie :thumbsup2

ok buster, this is where you and I might have a knock down  I also like white and sometimes I prefer it over milk :snooty: it's a mood thing....sometimes milk and on very *rare* occasions I require a dark choc rasberry filled cream from Sees (Jan keep you hands off my ras ;)

and now that you've made me spell it all out, I will be giving Paul my list for my birthday box...yes folks it's coming soon....no need to shout ::yes::

Have no fear Nan, I like my fruit separate from my chocolate and am NOT a big fan of anything with a raspberry flavor even though it is my favorite color.

Question--are Smarties the same as Valentine candy hearts?

Jan

I was up pastt 11 last night and now it is 4:55am and I am awake for some reason. Gotta get up at 6am so not really much sense in trying to go back to sleep .... I hate it when this happens ...

Aye I know that....

That's a pretty drastic change :sad2: I'd have switched out too, I'm surprised they aren't required to send a letter or something making it clear that the rate is changing.

Wow, that's so nice of you to offer to share;)
I hope you get some help soon.

Jan

Canadian Smarties are similar to plain M&M's, only the hard candy shell has a bit of flavouring in it.

Thanks for the reminder about ER, Michelle. I watched it for the first few seasons, but quit watching shortly after Dr. Greene was eliminated. I'm kinda curious to see how/why they bring people back. Are they actually closing the ER? I saw in a preview that Greene's daughter comes back.

thanks Shannon, but I would rather have a pay increase. I can handle the work load, just dont want to be taken advantage of.
So please send pixie dust my way, as I told my boss this morning when he got here that we need to talk.

And the canadian smarties were yummy, thanks for sharing, but I still like M&M's more.

:wizard: good luck talking to your boss!

Peanut M&M's are better than Smarties, but Reese's Pieces are even better, or chocolate covered almonds. Okay, enough thinking about junk food, time to go eat my healthy lunch.

ok, no more chocolate talk. I'm eating lunch now, which is a very healthy salad.

but I do agree about the peanut M&M's:thumbsup2

OK, so now there is at least ONE positive thing about Canada. I much prefer the type of Smarties, you're referring to over M&M's.

As a matter of fact, until this cruise thread, I had no idea that there was any other sort.
