Hi Kathe... glad to have you back... how was your weekend?

YAY! We're back! I was checking about every hour today, but it seems some of you were able to pop on much earlier than I was.

Did everybody have a nice day? We did lots of yardwork. We were outside for a few hours, I was raking and Tyler was re-doing a border of rocks around where some flowers grow alongside our garage. He did a pretty good job, so I told him that can be his job for the summer, to make sure it stays looking nice, including pulling weeds. He's happy about that, so we'll see if he keeps up with it. :thumbsup2 I also spent a very long time cutting back my rose bushes and doing some major clearing out around them. I hope I can keep up with the yard this year. :goodvibes After Tyler got tired of working, he brought out a bunch of supplies to the picnic table and was coloring while I worked. It was just nice to be outside so long!

Uh oh! Now they allow the whole signature to show! Yikes! I've just been shoving things to the bottom to let what I want to show up on top be visible. I'm going to remove some stuff before the DIS police come after me! ;)

Hi Kathe... glad to have you back... how was your weekend?

Hi Michelle! Not a great weekend. I could barely move by the time I got off work yesterday. Today I've completed my taxes. Yay, I get some back :yay: Started to do some researching for my Aug Banff trip. Getting too sore to sit too much longer though.

How was your weekend? What have you been up to? How's your mom, still doing great I hope!

Hi Holly! Sounds like you and Tyler have had a great day! Nice that you could spend so much of it outdoors, I love the spring.

Kathe, sorry your back is still so painful.

It was chilly today, had to wear a light jacket, but it was still nice to be outside so long! :goodvibes

Thanks Holly  I'm determined to be healed by my next day off, which is Wed! I need to go to the hairdresser desperately and I don't want to cancel lunch again with my mom!

The weather here is about the same as you are having.

What plans have you and Tyler made this year for Easter?

Kathe

Hi Marilyn! Hope you're having a good sleep :cloud9:

Hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" from you to get my Ship of Thieves pic back in my siggie, it disappeared on me when the boards came back up

Kathe

Good night all! I haven't got the patience tonight to wait for these excruciatingly slow boards :headache: I'm sure there are just too many of us all on at once trying to get caught up! Hope everyone has a good night.

Well, we're sort of stuck going to my dad's to be with his family every holiday. I actually haven't even figured out if Tyler's with me or his dad on Easter. His stepmom asked me if they have him for 4th of July and I told her I can't think that far ahead. ;)

Goodnight Kathe! :cloud9:

Nearly 7PM Sunday night and I just remembered I was going to do my taxes with weekend! :headache: Maybe I'll start pulling them together DURING the week Just not Mon or Wed....big tv nights! :lmao:

Well, over the past week I've read the seven Sookie Stackhouse mysteries (a.k.a. Southern Vampire series). Went immediately to the library to pick up number 8 (not yet availabe in paperback...till the end of the month anyway) and got on the wait-list for #9 that get's released a little bit later this year. I LOVE THESE BOOKS. Very funny, scary, romatic, action packed. Also picked up the 7th Harry Potter...got tired of waiting for that in paperback too. Then I had to get on HBO's web site to check out True Blood, the series based on the books. Not too happy with their casting of some of the male roles and it looks like they've added a whole secondary plot line, but I know I'll be looking for these if they come out on DVD.

OK....off to Hogwarts to see if Harry survives year seven.

.

OK, let's see.....I had Tyler for Christmas, so his dad had New Year's Day, that means I'll have Easter. Cool, he'll get to do the Easter egg hunt at my dad's! :thumbsup2 That's the only part I enjoy. I'm planning on not staying there long because I'd like to spend time with my mom too that day. She's never been a people person and never cared to do holiday get-togethers, but she's not adjusting well to retirement. She makes comments about how she doesn't have anything to wake up for in the mornings, and says she's worried about how many nights a week she drinks, and she isn't running as often as she used to. She used to do 10 miles a day a few days a week and now just doesn't do much at all. So I plan on making a point of visiting her on all holidays now. :thumbsup2

Wow Jackie, you've been busy! :goodvibes

We couldn't go to church today because ALL of Tyler's clothes were in the dryer! :rotfl2: So I took a nice 2 hour nap shortly after breakfast. I was sure Tyler would fall back asleep too because he was up so much later than usual last night and was lying on the couch 1/2 asleep watching PBS kids shows. But nope, he stayed up and played, and ATE lots of cookies and more cereal! ;)

Anyway, despite my 2 hour nap, I'm super tired (because I stayed up until 1or 2AM reading), so I'm headed to bed.

Goodnight all! :cloud9:

Did I tell you about the Sookie Stackhouse series? I can't remember???? I just finished all 7 books too. I love them.

I'm now onto Charlaine Harris's other series.

You have such a way with words... :rotfl::rotfl:

I just noticed this on the podcast threads... this won't affect us, now will it???

New DIS Board policy in effect
While I realize this has very little impact on the particular forum, we have been asked to post something letting everyone know that there is a new policy in effect for every area of the DIS Boards.

Discussions of politics and religion are no longer allowed anywhere on the DIS.

This does not mean that you can not ask for prayers or pixie dust, It doesnt mean that you can not wish someone Merry Christmas.

It means that political and religious discussion / debates are not allowed.

If anyone is interested the new policy is located here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2125870

As I said earlier...this has VERY little bearing on this forum, but we were asked to let everyone know.

Debates on cake versus pie versus brownies are fine BTW.
