So... I'm heading back to bed... I've never at least as far back as I can remember... had it take so long for me to get really sick and then get this out of my system...

I now have a sore throat... mom and I hit the store that Ian hates and got lots of stuff (cold) to make my throat feel better...

I did start to stitch again... just a little each night... I used to be up to Heirloom quality work but gave it up sort of when a friend moved in with us a couple of years ago and insisted on almost standing over me asking to watch what I was doing... I can't work that way... nothing special... I'll get back to silks and linen soon enough... but this is a picture of what I'm doing... I have the bottom border and the small alphabet and numbers done already in 2 nights... (except I've chosen a brick red for my house...)

Sorry you are still feeling so crummy. :sad2:
Glad you got some medi :thumbsup2

BEAUTIFUL PROJECT!!
Counted cross stitch?

You embroider on silk? How--iron-on pattern?

Poor you Michelle. Seems one thing after another for you. Take care and rest.

I used to stitch a bit, but never as good as what you sounded to be.

I use silk ON linen... and nope... pattern isn't ironed on... I count out from the middle and follow a pattern... I count threads... I'll take some pics of some of the work I've done when I get it out... (It's all packed away... I joke that I have to go to other people's houses to see my work...)

This is an example of one of the toughest pieces I've done... but I used different colors (from the designers website...)

Ohhh I know... I know... but they're a mile down the street and I didn't feel like I could make it to the other store and mom's not driving this week (she goes to the Dr. on the 27th for the dizzy spells...)

& btw... I got that gallon jar of pickles for Emma last Xmas... it took her less than a year to eat them...

That is lovely Michelle and very unusual. I did do a couple of samplers, but mainly did pictures.

Counted cross stitch I understand. I have done some of that, but not to the degree you have.

I wondered if the silk embroidery was silk on silk and how in the world you could count threads in silk.... Silk on linen--now that makes sense.

This is a lovely box. Whose flag is in it?

Michelle- I hope you feel better soon.

I don't have time to catch up. I am finally starting to feel better but we have new problems now. We have a foster cat who is very feral and today we had tornado force winds and a tree in our back yard fell apart and crushed our fence, the tree out front had a limb break off and it takes up the whole front. Lots of work to do.

Jill sorry about the tornado, but so relieved that you and Matt are OK.

It's still warmish here in Chicago. It was in the 40'sF today, but it is raining.

Something very odd has been wrong with me, and it started to go away today. Since Saturday or Sunday, the major muscles in my legs have hurt. Principally the thigh muscles. I mean they really ached making it difficult to walk.

The only thing that came to mind was that it was like a build up of lactic acid, then suddenly it started to go away. It was very odd.

Wow Jill, those are some really strong winds! I'm glad it didn't land on your house or vehicles, and glad you guys are OK.

There is silk on silk... but it's a 40 count and I'm half blind at 25 count (that's threads per in inch...) It's a cushion that I made... I made one for My aunt and uncles 50th Anniv... and one for myself in blues and mauves...

Perhaps a bit of stretching will help??? Maybe all of the activity in the nice weather?

One of my best friends is named Michelle :goodvibes and she has two sons. I think they are 30 and 25 now. The thirty year old got married when he was 20and soon there after they were having a baby. They found out the baby had downs and the young couple decided to abort. Michelle was heart broken. she offered to raise the child (she was only 45), and several others offered to adopt or offered adoption services. The couple still aborted.

The wife told Michelle that she would never see or hear from them again because of this. And 9 or 10 years went by and the couple kept their promise to stay out of their lives.

Michelle often wondered what happened to them...did she have any other grandchildren...where they working...did they need help.....but never reached out because her daughter in law had told her she hated her and never ever wanted to see her again.

Michelle figured if they ever divorced, maybe she could see her son again. Well, Thanksgiving the doorbell rang and it was her son, his wife (same one) and a young daughter. They stayed for a few hours and then left.

It will never be the same, but Michelle was thrilled to see her son again and hopes that the divide will continue to shrink.

All this said, Bubba, to say YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.....don't lose hope.

Hi Lisa! Ummm, this already happened. Hadn't heard much from her for about the last 10 or 15 years. Before that I only saw her on the rare occasions that she came by her Grandmas. Then about 2 years ago I was standing out front of my work talking to a new neighbor. A nice little red car pulled up with a few cute young ladies in it. No one got out, just stopped there looking at us. I said " someone you know Mark? He said nope! But they are kinda cute! I said" Well maybe you have your first customers!" Then the driver rolled down the window and said "Gosh Dad! Arent you even gonna say hi?":scared1: :lmao: It was Jennifer and her sister and another friend! So after 25 years of getting on with my life without her, I let my guard down, opened my heart and tried to start the relationship that we never had because of circomstances beyond my control. At first we mainly started talking on MySpace(why I got a page to begin with)and she would stop by my work every once in a while.Took her out to dinner for her birthday(sept) and Venetia and I gave her a new laptop so we could continue to chat on myspace. Christmas before last was the first time in her life that she came to MY house and had Christmas dinner with the family that she says she had longed for all her life. To shorten up the story, a few months later she hit me up for financial help. We are talking she needed thousands of dollars, not just a small loan. I couldn't do it. So poof!!! She took me and everyone in my family off of her myspace page, wrote my mother and I nasty letters, and I haven't heard from her since. :confused3 Pretty sad, but it is what it is. And once again I will get on with MY life. Only thing is, I don't know if I'll ever let her back in the door that she so easily slammed shut after waiting all those years for me to open it! But I still love her and I will post the picture of her and Ayden, my grandson. Sorry for the ramble, but now you all know why I don't talk much about her. I do still talk on myspace to the friend that was in the car with her that day. She keeps me up to date on the latest drama.:thumbsup2
