That will be sad :sad1:, but do whatever you need to SAVE TOROTOLA!

.

Tortola is an absolute. We just have to decide whether we want to do WDW in the spring or the B2B cruise. I think we're going for the b2b cruise. We have never done a b2b before and the second week is sooooooooo inexpensive that it would be foolish to cancel it. We go to WDW all the time. So we shall see. We'll decide by March.

Ken, what time is it for you?? You must be a fellow night owl, eh?

It's 11pm here. I'm only about 1 hour behind. I'm only up because I am keeping Shannon company while she does some accounting work.

I head up to Prince George again tomorrow and won't be back home until Sunday as I have a couple of business meetings in Vancouver on Friday and Saturday. I don't have lots to do tomorrow so I can stay up a bit later than usual.

Hello everyone. Sorry I disappeared last night. I was at a party you know. It was hard to post anything but I was reading. It was fun.

I have a three day job where I am at school the entire time the kids are in school. I woke up last night at 2:00 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I was so tired at work. The kids were kind of laughing a bit one time and I was afraid I was snoring :rotfl2:

I looked at all the pictures and it is amazing to see all these people that look really familiar :lmao: Nan, you looked great and Paul looks exactly the same. Molly wins for cutest picture by far :goodvibes Deb, you look like Madonna on your wedding day :rotfl2: I loved that era. I showed Bubba and V the pictures of you guys and the only reason they could guess who it was was because they saw who posted it. Connie, you actually look the same but a little older. It's funny how sometimes we change and some of us don't.

I'm STILL a huge fan of Madonna so I'll take that as a complement.....hahahaha:lmao: John said he loves the picture of us at Woodstock. I'm a huge Beatles fan too. I love the way our pictures show the different eras.....especially the wedding pics. Now where is your wedding picture? I would LOVE to see it.

Oh and BTW, Jon and I met when we were 18. That picture where I have dark hair was our first month dating. We were friends for 6 months before we started dating. The one where my hair is blond was taken about a year later. I don't know why we look so much older. The picture of the four of us was taken in Hawaii when Ethan was 3 and Brooke was 1. It is sad to see them so young. I miss it. I think I will find one from the 70s too like Ken said :lmao: Now that would be cute.

:joker: :wave2: :joker:

we're prepping for ice flows on the mohawk... Jumpin Jacks will be under for sure...

IT'S ABOUT TIME WOMAN!!!

:cool1: :cool1:

Stay warm Marilyn... and may I suggest some schnaaps for your hot cocoa???

So... will you lay down now???

Hey.. head down... on the pillow... come on... you can do it... :thumbsup2

I have not been on here a lot today....I've got 2 1/2 hrs in so far and have to do at least 2 more tonight. That will make a total of 4 1/2. Yesterday I did 4. I'll keep adding everyday. Hopefully it will work.

Matt arranged that for us a couple of nights too... :goodvibes :goodvibes

Matt is so sweet....just like Darrell. I miss our cruise. I'm glad we still have all of our good people staying together. I love all of us.:grouphug:

Oh, I already copied it from the website and printed it for Tyler.

I emailed the link to his principal because she's the one who told us about the event. She sent me a flyer in the mail and told me she thought it would be something Tyler would love, so I figured she'd get a kick out of seeing this. She emailed me back and told me she found out already that Tyler went to the event because he wore a shirt today that he was given (part of his bag of door prizes) and walked up to her this morning, proudly smiling and pointing at his shirt. :thumbsup2 So she emailed the link to every teacher in the school who deals with him, and the special ed teacher read Tyler's dad's email to him and showed him his picture online. He was quite excited! ;)

Such a star!!! Tyler certainly has come a long way. You did a good job mom. It was so worth it.

Deb... if you get to pg 250 before you catch up... call me and I'll start another... :upsidedow

Well, he's definitely making major progress already. I think I mentioned that at his prior school, whenever they tried to get him to do schoolwork, he would rip it up or eat it or flush it down the toilet. But they way they schedule his day here, they're able to get him to do work. They give him a break after every single activity (but told me they think he's ready for them to start reducing the number of breaks), and all kinds of other methods to get him to do the work.

At the old school, he couldn't do more than 1 or 2 math problems a day, now he does a whole page of math every day.

At the old school, he could only write by copying what's already printed on a paper. Tonight at occupational therapy I watched him write the first word I've ever seen him write on his own. Cat. And he didn't have to ask how to spell it. Also the word "to". She always has him practice by writing a sentence that he makes up and she writes on the paper first for him to write below hers. He chose "I wore my cat shirt to school today." He told her he didn't need her to write it first for him to copy. He did have to ask her to spell the words for him as he wrote each letter, but it's still a huge improvement for him. There were quite a few letters he couldn't remember what they looked like, so she had to write one first to show him, but it's still an improvement!

He's now able to eat lunch in the cafeteria with the other kids with no major problems. And he's able to go to the regular classroom many times a day, sometimes about a 1/2 day total. That's major, since he wasn't able to last more than about 10 minutes at his old school. I think the difference is just knowing he has an "out" if needed because he knows if he gets to his frustration limit he can leave and go to the special ed room.

On the ski trip last week, the teachers and aides told me he's doing really well so far! Of course he still has similar behaviors as the old school, but here they know how to handle it, they deal with it, and get him back on track to continue his day. :goodvibes He really seems to like it so far. He doesn't mention his old school much. Although he was sad about having to leave, I think that might just have been fear of the unknown. I used to ask him if he wants to stop and visit the old school, but he quickly says no. His former kindergarten teacher (who we see at church) told me he probably doesn't want to go back because it was a miserable time for him there, or it could be that it's just easier for him to make a clean break.

BRAVO....Tyler has progressed leaps and bounds in such a short time. I'm so happy for him and for you.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I am pretty sure I got the hair colour wrong and I just guessed with the necklace - May baby and all - and another guess with the dress (I seem to remember you wearing some blue on the cruise in amongst the pink and lime green). So in other words I probably got it completely wrong but thought I would try my hand at colourization of a B&W photo.

So here goes:

And with that Deb, I'm leaving the thread to you to welcome Deborah and Marilyn.

Make sure you get your rest too!! Or I'll sick Nan on you! ;)

I'd listen to Nan if I were you Deb, otherwise, I'll have to have Sukie call you and be, very, very, very stern with you and tell you how naughty you've been.

Now I'm shaking in fear.....that's scary!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, you got the hair color just about right! I was a blonde back in those days--straight from the bottle!:rotfl2: The "dress" was actually black; it was this thing they called a "drape", made of black velvet. All the girls wore it for the senior picture and the pictures were made in B&W, not color, I guess so they'd look good in the yearbook. The boys all wore coats & ties. There was one photographer in our town and that where everyone went to get their senior picture done. Very uniform! My necklace was actually a gold disc with my initials. Lots of girls wore a single pearl.

I remember when my youngest sister was a senior (1976) and by then they were taking the senior pictures in color and with different poses. I was so jealous!
