Well, I'm on my second very deserved glass of wine and then I'm going to bed! I've had this nasty cold all week. Wed and Thurs I was really full of cold, had to shovel snow and work both days. Doesn't seem fair to have to endure all three things in one day I had plans to take my granddaughter for a sleep over last night and then have her mom over today for dinner and was afraid that her mom wouldn't want me to take her when I had this cold, but turns out Serenity already had a cold and her mom was not giving up her night "off duty" So, I was pretty tired last night, I was up at 5:30 AM for work, but I was quite happy to go and pick up Serenity She has always been so easy to look after, she just doesn't get into things she shouldn't! She is 16 months old now. Well.....from the moment we walked through my door she was into everything! Every cupboard, every drawer, every shelf!! Thank heavens she slept all night so I could recuperate somewhat She really is a good little soul...but busy!!! I guess her mom really did enjoy her "time off", she didn't call us until noon, then said she'd be over at 3:00. Then she called at 2:00 to say she wouldn't be coming for the roast beef dinner that she had requested She said she'd come pick up the baby at 6:00. Then I called her at 7:00!!! She asked if I could bring her home to her. So I took her home at 8:00. I absolutely loved my time with my granddaughter...but I am exhausted!! It will be a rest to go to work tomorrow And I'm afraid I won't be getting caught up here.

He loves it that you all cheer him on. You are truely extra family in this regard

Well, I sort of feel like all the kids of everybody here are "our kids". Call me nuts, but everybody on here is sort of like extended family.

that is a shame. we have a local ER that must see paitents within 30 minutes. It's part of their own standards. That is a private hospital, the local county hospital (which is the one around the corner from us and the best in Northern CA for spinal injuries) is the same as what you talk of...waiting for hours...good luck sweetie. I'm praying for her and you. Tell her we need to start getting our Toyko 2010 plans in the works

This is a private hopsital part of the same group Frank was in. It is called INOVA Hospital group. I called Fairfax Hospital (where Frank was) and they are not even taking patients right now. All ambulences are being diverted to our hospital and Alexandria Inova. That is why our hospital is so backed up.

She is still awake and looking better right now. I will take her to the Doc in the morning.

OK, whoever gave Tyler the pirate photo album and the pirate Disney dollars, he finally decided what he wants to do. He has put the dollars in the album just like pictures, and he's asked me to print a bunch of pirate pictures of him, from way back when he first started dressing up like a pirate (when he was 3), and pics of when he and I play pirates here at home, and pics of pirate night from the cruise, and he wants to make his own pirate album. I told him I'd try to do that this week. I love how creative kids are.

Well, that's encouraging news! Even if her fever is gone in the morning, I'd still take her to the doctor because Tyler only had a fever for a day, and the sore throat that same day, only, when I took him to the doctor the 2nd day, his fever and sore throat were gone and he was acting completely normal, but still tested positive for strep. Strange.
