Connie what a relief. Now remind me how close is she to you now? Do you have siblings to help you with her?

Thanks, Jan. She's only 10 miles south of us. and I did have 2 brothers and a sister, but they have all passed away. She has grandchildren in Illinois and California, but they are young and they all have their own families. It's really up to me.
She is having a hard time doing anything. She is in so much pain until about 11am, and by 5pm, she's so tired out she needs to be home so she can rest.

But she'll manage....we bought a new couch and Lazy Boy recliner yesterday, signed papers today and plan to change over electric tomorrow......it's all coming together quite well!

Here's what we're doing this Saturday night!!!!

http://www.monsternationals.com/2009Events/mi_eastlansing2009.html

It will be our 3rd year going and we both look forward to it every time! It's so much fun! I LOVE the giant robot dinosaur, Megasaurus! SO COOL!!! I can't wait! :cool1: I remember when we went last year, I got Tyler a hat and he let Bobby Banana try on the hat and hold his flag from the previous year. ;) Yeah, I know I posted these last year, but here they are again:

So everything I've just read says 2-5 days incubation period for strep. 2 days down, 3 to go.

When Daniel was in 5th and 6th grade, he has strep 20 times...(it never went away)....and they kept treating him. The insurance company finally gave approval to have his tonsils removed the next time the strep was positive....never got another positive.....never...and now he is in college.

No one else in our house caught the strep over the 24 month period. The doctor told us some people just get it and some people don't.

He is a funny doctor....when I bring a kid in and he always says "It's my blond family" He has 9 children and last time I was there he told me his wife had breast cancer.

For those of you who watch "Lost": What ever happened with the smoke monster thing? It just seems like it went away without it ever being explained, unless I missed something.

They never really did explain it but last season they did show you Ben releasing it against the guys from the freighter right around the time when they killed Ben's daughter. So they lead you to believe it's another Dharma experiment.

Just finished watching LOST here.....juicier and juicier. AND I almost cried when I heard the little boy was named Charlie...:sad1:

I use my DH's account. I really need to set up my own...I will do that soon.

Yeah... so you can keep up with us... ;)

Good night Michelle! You're actually going to bed at a normal time!

Yeah... too bad it didn't last... I was awake 2 hours later, but it is better than it was...

I'm a bit discombobulated. I overslept.

I woke up at 6:05! I have to be out of the house by 6:20.

I only oversleep about once every 3 years.

I did get out of the house by 6:20.

I used to do that every day in high school.. but I was young then...

Those May hours have to be out soon! This is the first trip I've purchased a package for, so I'm thinking of adding on the dining plan. Haven't used it before, but it might be fun to eat a few more dinners, I usually have my big meals at lunch to save money. I'm planning on choosing places where the desserts look good too, since I normally don't order those either! I will still be able to use my DDE card for a discount on drinks and extras not covered on the plan :thumbsup2 I expect by Feb 10 when I can start to make my ressies that the May hours will be out. Rumour is they'll be out by Feb 1st?

Kathe

They used to be out 6 months in advance... They changed the website and now I hate it.... and try the dining plan... if you plan in advance, you may be able to do lots with the snack options and such... I'll go see if I can find the link to the snack options for this year...

I'll tell you one thing 47 degrees is a lot colder when it is windy :scared: It's suppose to be in the 70s but it definitely is not now.

Awwwwwwwwwwww... sorry G...it only got to 32 today...

Hi every one, just a quick drive by post to prove you haven't lost me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

the drive in this morning was such fun, watching the lovely lights flash by as my fellow commuters spun their cars around and bounced off of things. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 It only took me 3 1/2 hours to get here :scared: :scared: :scared: hope your all doing well :wave2: :wave2:

Hey... that's not bad for Jersey driving... even without snow and ice... :rotfl2: (glad you traveled safe...:thumbsup2 )

Beautiful! St. Thomas is my favorite place (other than on the ship). I still plan on staying in one of the cottages up on Paradise Point sometime! It's my dream vacation. :goodvibes

My dream vacation involves a private beach and room service... ::yes:: ::yes::

:rotfl2:"Mom, who does this body belong to? Is this Bootstrap Bill's leg?" :scared: :rotfl:

TAG FAIRY!!!

I am so glad today is almost over. I hope no one has been effected by the storms....

Me too V... but I'm getting used to these things... NOT... I keep thinking in a couple of months these will be nice rain showers...

Hmmm.....I'm wondering if there are 2 different places to dock. When I did it, I don't remember seeing a terminal building, we just walked through a metal gate and right across the street, no steps. That's odd.

I've seen photos where if they have too many ships in they have one dock across the bay... but it's very rare. I'm sure Disney has it's spot since it's been going there along time.

OH Deborah.....I forgot to tell you....yesterday the entertainment news reported that DONNY OSMOND will be on the next Dancing With The Stars. I know you love him. If you don't get the broadcast over there, maybe you could watch it each week online.:thumbsup2

I'm still hoping for him for the EBTA... :snooty:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I bet we still have snow too, but I'll be in DL so I won't care! :rotfl: (at least until I have to come home:sad2: )

I'll be here... probably... wondering if you have snow at your house cause I sure have it at MINE!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Nan, John said if you come to the Emerald Beach Hotel with us....then maybe Ian and Sukie will come too and we can do a mini shots around the pool.....hahahaha.....:lmao:

FYI John is home safe and sound. Thank goodness.:goodvibes

Ummmmm... who's the designated driver/guide to get you guys back to the ship???

And we'll still get another snow storm too! Then we usually get a month of rain and then finally it gets nice out.:flower3:

JUNE???? :thumbsup2

I guess now would be a bad time to tell you that my tulips are about 3-4" huh? We think they will be blooming for Valentines Day. Fingers Crossed:flower3:

Oh yeah, remember that neighbor who ran over our tree??? He came over last weekend and said I'm going to get your tree, my guy isn't calling me back anymore. I told him, never mind I'll go and get it and give you the bill. So I've got to get to the garden store to get us a tree.

UMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YES!!!!

But the Amaryllis in my kitchen should be up about that time too...

and at least you get to pick your tree... may I suggest something that flowers?

That's a long time from now......almost two months. I need the cold to go away. It's suppose to be 80 again but the mornings are still 40 :scared:

G.... I'd give anything for your mornings... even though I'd probably still sleep through it... :rotfl:

Our CIO made the announcement this afternoon about the reorganization. I think some of my staff were a little disconcerted by it, but then people don't really like change.

Have they tied you to a chair and won't let you go??? Then I'd be worried... tell them visiting hours are on Tuesday between 12 and 12:15.... :)

Just thought I would pop-in and say HI!:wave2: Its been busy. We didn't go tubing yet but are going Feb.7 as my family, pastor and his daughter want to go too. I ended up going to a scrapping day. I have to work all weekend and have a test next Tues that my teacher said no one will pass. I am really stressed and think I am getting sick but Matt is taking care of me.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Jill...

Good luck on your test... and prove him wrong!!! You'll do fine!!!

Hello to Matt! :goodvibes

Thanks, Jan. She's only 10 miles south of us. and I did have 2 brothers and a sister, but they have all passed away. She has grandchildren in Illinois and California, but they are young and they all have their own families. It's really up to me.

Sounds good Connie...:thumbsup2

Matt Blashaw gets an exclusive look into the world of the popular Disney Cruise Line and sees how they keep the magic alive during their 17-day "dry dock" restoration of the Disney "Magic" ship. From pressure washing and painting the hull of the ship, to jack-hammering and resurfacing the Mickey Mouse Pool, to reinstalling giant propellers, thrusters and stabilizers, Matt unveils the amount of work that goes into keeping the popular vacation destination afloat!

Oh DONNY OSMOND will be on Dancing With the Stars.... let me know when he is on TV, I will check on the internet...

YEAH for LOST tonight. It starts with a repeat of last week for the first hour. I hope it has the explanation subtitles. I love those. Then there's one hour of a new episode.

IDOL is also on tonight. It's better this season. I like it more. There's a fourth judge, Cara, she's an old roommate of Paula's as well as a singer/songwriter. She stands up to Simon. It's great. Also, they do more background information on some of the contestants. It makes it more interesting.

Happy Wed night with both shows on.

I watched Amercian Idol and I thought it was funny too on ITV2...

I just saw Donny on a show saying he hasn't received any offer from the show asking him to come on, but said he'd love to. He said if they asked him, he can't now but can in October.

Oh nooooo.... I have to be patience to wait until OCTOBER???

I would love to go to Las Vegas to watch his concert!!! One day ::yes::

Yup, he's at his dad's, but no Rx. Can you believe the doctor never called in a new one for him?! Now we have to wait until morning because the on-call doctor is just for emergencies. :sad2:

Bad doctors!!:sad2:

Samantha is asleep on the couch - hope she is not getting what I have. I am waiting on John to get home so I can go to BED@!

Aaaaw, it is horrible trying to keep going and look after the children when you feel so ill. Hope you had a good night's sleep and feel better today. Hopefully Samantha is just tired.

Our CIO made the announcement this afternoon about the reorganization. I think some of my staff were a little disconcerted by it, but then people don't really like change.

Well, over here they would be just grateful to have a job!:sad2: :sad2: It is getting very bad and it is a very gloomy forecast indeed.

Marilyn,

Good point, but these are VERY young people and never lived through some of the things we have, such as the winter of discontent over there and WIN (Whip Inflation Now) over here and the various recessions.

When I graduated university in the latter quarter of the 1970's I could not even get a job as a filing clerk, for the whopping sum of $115 a week.

I think a lot of this generation, are, according to one of my WW members who is a dean at a university, the progeny of what I guess they now call, "helicopter parents," parent who hover over their kids (and yes, I have heard of parents wanting to be at their child's job interview).

I feel bad for an entire generation, that grew up in times of more or less plenty and economic growth, because they aren't really prepared for what's happening.

We at my company are also very fortunate, because the executive management are all, shall we say, "mature." They are very good business people and have high expectations, but they also have a sense of stewardship and obligation to take care of the people that work for them. That has meant not over hiring and making sure we never had too much staff.

But who knows what the future will bring. I work in a commercial insurance company, so our business is tied to the general business state.

Some of our sectors are really suffering because the businesses we insure are disappearing.

Good Morning All!

Today, I woke up at my normal time. I also realized why I overslept yesterday, the light bulb in my alarm clock burned out (I wake up to a pulsing light, the bell comes on only after a delayed period of time).

Also, because I yesterday, my whole sense of this week is off. I thought that yesterday was Thursday, and it was a rude awakening (no pun intended) in the afternoon when I realized it was only Wednesday.

Last night was a movie night at Eastwood Manor.

We watched "Irina Palm." We both really liked it. It featured Marianne Faithful, the rock singer who is now very middle aged.

It takes place in England and is about a woman, whose grandson (a little boy) is dying and can only get the treatment he needs in Australia. Unfortunately, the entire family is completely drained of money. Marrianne Faithful plays Maggie, the boy's grandmother, and she finds herself desperate to get the money, to save her grandson's life, and so, after being denied loans, and rejected from jobs, she takes on the only job she can find.

It was wonderful, and Marrianne Faithful gave an extraordinary performance as the middle aged frumpish woman who has to show great strength.

It is however NOT a family film and not a film appropriate for children or more sensitive viewers. It is a little, thoughtful, and sometimes gritty, film.

It also had a bit of a surprise ending.

Disney Dining Experience card, now called Tables in Wonderland(TIW). You can buy it if you are a Florida resident or an Annual Passholder. Gives you 20% off most table service restaurants for up to 10 people, including drinks. 18% gratuity automatically added to bill.

THANKS :thumbsup2:

We have never been Annual Pass holders so do not know what the perks are.
.

I am so glad today is almost over. I hope no one has been effected by the storms....

Indianapolis got 12.5 inches of snow. Tom was glad he always walks to work as drivng was bad. A lot of his staff could not get in.

:). I stayed in :thumbsup2:
