I can't believe I wasn't a bit sore after our day of sledding followed by the next day's skiing trip. Must mean I'm not in as bad shape as I'd thought! :thumbsup2

I really, really hope I can go skiing Saturday. It depends on how early I can get my car in to get new tires that morning. I keep meaning to call for an appointment but keep forgetting. :guilty: I'm hoping I can get that done early and then head out to go skiing! I should have plenty of time before picking Tyler up. :goodvibes

More news on the job front today.

Our CIO scheduled a meeting with me this morning.

Well, it looks like I'm going to be moving on to a new job.

I could go into detail, but it would just bore everyone.

The positive thing is that I will stop reporting to 2 separate directors plus the CIO and just report to one person (Though I will work closely with the CIO).

Another plus is that I will have no direct reports, no staff (yippee!)!

Now if only I could remember the title of the role!

Congrats Mister! Just make up your own title. Mine is "Paperwork Goddess"

....way past my bedtime......goodnight Kids!

:goodvibes
Two times today, I should have listened to Tyler but I didn't. First, this morning he told me he shouldn't go to school. He wanted to go, but told me he shouldn't. He was right. :guilty: Then he told me earlier that he'd throw up if he had to take that medicine again (the antibiotic). He was right. :guilty: It's really nasty stuff. So I guess I call the doctor in the morning and see if she can call in a different kind :guilty: I've got him sleeping on the pull-out sofa in case he throws up again, but he told me his stomach wasn't hurting and that it was just because of the medicine. This time I'm listening to him and believe him, but still don't think he should be up in his bed way up high tonight. :guilty:

Poor guy! Sleep's the best thing for him now.

Deadly Winter Storm Stretches into Mid-Atlantic

After downing trees at a rate of 100 per hour, causing deadly car accidents and cutting power to hundreds of thousands, a crippling ice storm will continue to clobber areas from Arkansas to the Virginias tonight. Both Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia are also in line for an icy mix.

Sounds like I do not need to waste ice cubes down the toilet....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

stay safe.

Well, I sent Vanessa (our exchange student from last year) and her sister their Christmas presents 2 months ago. They arrived at her house today. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

One of the things I sent her was a VA Tech Sweatshirt....and she sent me this picture. I sure do miss her.....we all do.....

2 months?! that's crazy, but she sure looks happy in her sweatshirt

congratulations! hopefully this will reduce your stress at work

Well, we all here at Glenville Downs are retiring early for the evening... We have a snow storm to prepare for...

Stay safe Lisa...

Night Ian...

& Morning Marilyn!!! :flower3:

Good night Michelle! You're actually going to bed at a normal time!

This is from Marilyn, I got it too, and checked her # on the LIST (thanks Ian) you need to reply to the email and then you will be linked, some how it worked for us :thumbsup2

Nice to be known as Thing 2.

You all must wonder why I "let" Paul be Thing 1 when I'm so bossy...well it was sabatoge, I was getting my hair done and had to meet everyone for the DIS picture. (was it funny that we were wearing red when everyone was in green) ok funny to me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: anyways, Paul had his shirt on and I had to pull mine on quickly and poof he tricked me. He is a tricky one, watch out for him :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I didn't send that Wii email on purpose. I just put in the Wii numbers and the email addresses as I thought that was what i was supposed to do!! I actually thought you had sent me that email! I had one from Bubba, but that was just a question mark!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm laughing at the Thing 1 and 2 thing!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Work was such an absolute disaster today. I and 2 other secretaries work in the workers' comp section. The three of us can barely keep up, but we manage. Well, I missed yesterday because of the field trip, one secretary had the day off for something, and the third one was out with bronchitis. So NOBODY was there in our section to get any work done. That's NEVER happened. So today was just a crazy mess of piles everywhere. I was able to get through some things I had leftover from last Friday before I had to leave.

The energizer bunny lawyer was just coming in when I was leaving to pick up Tyler and I told him what was going on. His face was not happy. :rotfl2: So our newest secretary was alone today there. :scared: The other secretary called after I'd left to say her bronchitis has turned into pneumonia, so she won't be in tomorrow either. Then I called shortly after her to tell our office manager I probably wouldn't be in tomorrow. :rotfl: She strongly suggested I find somebody to come stay at my house with Tyler. Yeah, right. Nobody wants to be exposed to strep! So what I'm going to do is go into work at night, after I drop him at his dad's. Then Thursday in addition to my normal 7-5 I'll just be working as late as I can possibly keep my eyes open. Same Friday. I have no choice because of deadlines, etc. It will be an ugly week for sure. :sad2:

This isn't good on top of you feeling like you do at the moment.

Scott might have travelled from ours, but Mely and the black lady didn't. Everytime I go into our MiiParade its different Mii's and I don't know most of them. They just show up from somewhere.

Ah thank you. That is strange isn't it? I still haven't got Nan and co, Bubba and Tink and Gaylean and co.

A good title and more money - that's what you need.

I started playing pathwords on facebook. What is a good score? I have gotten up to 500??

Just don't try to beat Kaylee... :rotfl: :sad2: :rotfl: :sad2: :rotfl: She's up to like 1200 or something... I got 770 as my highest score but that was last week... I average in the 650-700 range...

I have 610 and have gone backwards ever since!

I played some stranger and he got 1250....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have only played solo - wouldn't dare play an expert!!:rotfl:

Tut! I can make ADR's tomorrow for the first 10 days of our trip and the May park hours aren't out yet. Ah well, we don't want many, and we can be more relaxed with our planning those days.

We have lots of recommendations for off site restaurants, so we are going to be trying those this time.:cool1:

Lovely day here today after early rain, and sitting here indoors it looks like winter could be almost over. The snowdrops are out and the light outside seems brighter. Mmmmm, probably will snow next week now.:rotfl2:

:wave2: Hi Marilyn, sounds like spring is in the air for you. How nice that would be. We have another winter storm today. We're supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow and then a coating of ice on top of it. It's still falling outside and it's before the ice so it looks beautiful.

I looked at excursions yesterday for Tortola and St. Thomas. I couldn't find anything that we were looking for. We wanted a hotel convenient to the beach with a nice pool. Like the excursion we went on in Cabo. Unfortunately, I didn't find a lot of good hotels like that. We're probably going to have to pick something else to do.:crazy2:

Poor Tyler, poor Holly....I hope you get some better meds for Tyler to take today. I hope Tyler feels better too. Hugs to you both. :grouphug:

What a great picture of Vanessa. So glad she sent it to you. Thanks for sharing. I can't believe how quickly the time has passed. It seems like just yesterday when Vanessa was getting into trouble about sneaking to see a boy from WDW. That's so funny now. :lmao:

YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! This is such good news. I'm soooooooo happy for you. When do you get started? Hopefully it will be much less stress for you.:badpc:

I looked at the excursions a while ago but so many of them are water based and that is so not us! We are also trying not to spend too many $'s with the exchange rate being so bad.

Of course, we also have the Western to look at. I'm thinking just a wander at Key West, but not sure about the other ports.

I would love to see your snow, but not live in it!!! I hope you all stay safe.

This may be the first time that we don't do a DCL excursion. We may just wander off the boat on our own and then get back on when we feel like it.

We have done the western once before so we would be looking to do different things this time.....not sure what just yet.

I feel bad for John having to drive to work in the snow this morning. It will be much worse trying to get home tonight....there will be ice by then too. For me it's beautiful because I don't have to go out in it.

I still don't know when the reorganization will be announce or when I start.

I'll still have stress, though a different type.

Rather than stressing over unrealistic deadlines and trying to control other people's behavior, I'll be stressing over creating and implementing strategy and concretely proving benefit (financial, time saving, satisfaction, etc.), and managing expectations.

I'm more OK with the latter type of stress.

Yup..... Schools are closed. Don took Goldie out for a walk and inside they went for a SLIDE!! Don said she could not figure out how to go to the bathroom.....

We have about 6" of snow with ice on top. Supposed to snow until about 2pm....

I'm a bit discombobulated. I overslept.

I woke up at 6:05! I have to be out of the house by 6:20.

I only oversleep about once every 3 years.

I did get out of the house by 6:20.
