Just checking in to get caught up.

Michelle - glad to hear Barb is feeling better, but the dizzyness sounds weird

Deborah - glad to hear it was just baby teeth. And that's awful that Olivia was being bullied, and hopefully the church will supervise more carefully.

Well I have no clue about superbowl either, but that is understandable!!!

Ian or Ken, if I send our Mii's from the plaza to friends, do I lose them myself, or are they still in the plaza as well.

When I went on the Wii a few minutes ago Ken and Shannoin were in the parade. I went away for a while, then when I put the plaza up again, Ken and Shannon dropped in there but were then not in the parade.

Also in the parade were Carol and Doug I think, so I moved them to the plaza. The rest of the folk in our parade I have no idea who they are. There is a Scott with a moustache, a black lady, someone called Mely I think, and a few others. Did they come with you Ken and Shannon? Are they your extra Mii's?

Scott might have travelled from ours, but Mely and the black lady didn't. Everytime I go into our MiiParade its different Mii's and I don't know most of them. They just show up from somewhere.

OK, so I have NEVER heard of a "bonniest knees" contest.....this is definitely a first for me......hahahaha......it looks like you all had such a good time. Thanks for sharing with us.

It was quite funny to see 20 men all standing in a line showing off their knees :rotfl2:

today is my second day home...... I am so stuffed up. I have to go back to work tomorrow.

:grouphug: Hopefully tomorrow is better :grouphug:

Tyler didn't wake up anymore during the night, fortunately. No, he won't gargle with salt water. I tried that, but he either swallows it or gags. He can't quite figure out how to gargle. He feels fine now though.

You're lucky your girls will get up in the morning after staying up 2 hours late. :thumbsup2 I can't get Tyler up on time if he's up just an hour past bedtime.

My girls can't gargle, but they will swish it around and then spit. Sometimes they do better if its warm salt water, other days, they do better with cold salt water. Take care of yourself, so you don't get sick too! Its good that you were able to get Tyler into the doctor right away.

wow, you are going to Disneyland the day before my birthday...

THAT IS NOT FAIR:sad2: Oh wait a min... I forgot that I am having ladies in my house - PARTY :grouphug: :cheer2: :rockband: :drinking1

oh well better than nothing :thumbsup2

Scottishwee35

Deborah, I sure hope you take pictures to show us. You and your friends seem to have the BEST parties! :cool1:

Hi Holly

Same my work, lots of staff sick:scared:

but you will work 7 to 5 pm? no wonder you nap lot as it is a long day...

hope you both are keeping well..

take care

Scottishwee35
I only work 7am-5pm on Thurs & Fri. Mon, Tues and Wed I work 8:30am-3pm. But I often have to stay even later on Thurs & Fri.

He didn't have a temp this morning, so I sent him to school. He told me he shouldn't go, and he was right. The school called me at 12:30 after lunch to tell me he's feeling lousy and is lying down in the office. So on the way to get him, I called his pediatrician to see if they could get him in for a strep test today. On the way home from school he perked up and was acting fine. On our way to the doctor's office, he told me his throat doesn't hurt anymore, but has a headache that hurts more every time he bends down or stands up. (We migraine folks know all about that. :sad2:). By the time we get to the doctor's office, he's playing with toys there, bouncy and happy as can be. :rotfl2: No fever, tearing around the room like any other day, but he tested positive for strep. She said we caught it very early, before the point where it gets ugly and keeps you down and miserable.

Dr. said that since he already exposed everybody at school (as did the other kids in his class), he can go to school tomorrow if he feels fine and the temp stays away. :thumbsup2 So we'll just see how he feels in the morning. He feels great and asked me if he can go back to school now, so thats good! But by the time we got his antibiotic from the pharmacy, it was time for school to get out.

Good thing you got to the doctor so quickly and started the antibiotics. Tell Tyler that we hope he gets well soon and we're sending big hugs to him.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Unfortunately, I'll probably get it because I was drinking out of his drink all day yesterday. :crazy2: His throat was already sore then (he told me on the bus on the way there).

I never go to a doctor or take him so soon because I usually like to see if the body can fight whatever's going on, but the only reason I wanted to go today is because of his teacher telling me about the other kids in class with it. I'm so glad she did because otherwise, I would have just assumed it's just a cold developing.

Well, Tyler just cleaned a bunch of stuff off our living room table. He's doing a good job of cleaning up the clutter that has accumulated lately. :thumbsup2 A while ago he was exercising. :rotfl: Not much slows this kid down. ;) The only way you can tell he's sick is because he just laid on the couch and watched 2 movies in a row, and only ate about 1/4 of what he'd normally eat for supper. Says his throat feels fine but that he's just not hungry and that his head hurts most. The doctor told me sometimes when little kids have strep throat they feel like their head or ears hurt instead of their throat because since the throat hurts so badly, the whole area around there hurts, so they can't pinpoint what exactly hurts. Interesting.

Sadly, the antibiotic is so nasty tasting (so he says), he told me he'll throw up if he has to drink it again. He was not a happy guy when I told him he has to take it again at bedtime and then twice a day for 9 more days! ;)

Is that baseball or hockey??

Yeah... no matter HOW we pass out... :rotfl2:

Ohhhhh... she did... everything went... then she was much better. She's fine now... even went out to the store before OUR part of the storm... another 10-16 inches on top of the 1.5 feet we STILL Have from before...

I hope she wretched way more than once....then it was food poisoning. If she only did it one time, she could get nauseous and do it from being dizzy. I'm so glad she is feeling better though. Food poisoning would also leave her feeling very weak after her stay in the bathroom. It's not definite and hard to tell so even if she feels good now, have it checked by a doctor.....just coz we care.

Glad to hear you changed it... wouldn't want you skating out there tomorrow...it's supposed to be a mess. :sad2:

Oh, I can't wait!!!

You better be careful and stay in tomorrow too. Take care of you and mom.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I was still hoping for the oversized hormonally imballanced men to win, but they caved :confused3

I knew they weren't going to do it again this year because they choked in the end of the season. The hottest team at the end wins. Like the G guys were last year. At least we have those memories and we are reigning champs for a few more days.

:joker:

I called, but they reminded me that I already have an appointment next week anyway for my med check, and there's nothing available before then anyway. The nurse explained everything to the doctor, then called me back to tell me the doctor believes it's just stress related, from when I had so much stress with Tyler, just catching up to me since I don't have to be so "on-guard" all the time. She says if it happens again and I continue to be so sleepy all the time, even with lots of sleep, to let her know at my appointment next week and she'll go from there, but for now she thinks it's just stress related and my body finally crashing. Makes sense to me.

I would make sure you mention it to the doctor again next week when you see her.....just because. She can ask questions and poke at things. It is a good idea for you to monitor your sleeping habits, maybe do a log, just for the next week until you see your doctor. Also note any times when you couldn't get up. It couldn't hurt. I'm glad you made the call and checked with your doctor. YEAH for you!

It's sure not coming from my way Deb! We haven't had any snow or ice falling for about a week I think. :thumbsup2 Stay in and safe, and I hope it clears up quickly so you can get to the doctor.

Well that's good that you don't have it. I hope it goes away quickly too but I don't think so. I hope I can get to the doctor by Friday but I'm not sure. We'll see what we get. Now they're saying ice and 6 inches overnight tonight....that's up from 3. We'll probably lose power again.:crazy2:

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Tyler's teacher told me there's something going around his class (2 kids have had it so far), which starts as a headache and then the next day is a sore throat, then the next day turns to fever and throwing up. :scared: I can't handle the throwing up part. We've only dealt with that twice. Yuck.

All the kids in Northern VA have this same thing you guys have. School was closed Monday and Tuesday (last week closed Monday and Tuesday for MLK day and then Obama Day ;) ) This week closed for teacher's work day.

Anyway, we ran buses downtown DC at 5am so kids could serve breakfast to the homeless SO OTHERS MIGHT EAT. Monday 3 kids threw up on the bus and today 4 kids threw up. I am so glad I was working at my real job and not helping. GROSS!! I can clean up my own kids throw up....but it is very hard to help another kids who is throwing up:crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Started snowing this moring like crazy....still snowing....first big storm of this winter. Looks like this 4 day weekend is turning into a 5 day weekend....

Wish they would just close schools and get it over with. I was supposed to go to Baltimore tomorrow to meet the President of Staples. That has been cancelled becasue of weather.

Deborah, if you have any wine shops that carry Italian wines...just ask them to get it for you. The vintner is Banfi.

Hi Kids!

One more thing (even though I'm talking to myself here). I found a really cute hotel with "treehouse" rooms. Cute and cheap too! I'm hoping our friends will agree to stay there with me & Tyler. :thumbsup2 I want to just get something booked. She's being wishy washy....about price, number of days, etc. This place would be a great price and will be close enough to everywhere we'd want to go. I'll probably just end up booking it myself because I'm afraid of waiting for her to decide, and then having her decide not to go after all, and then I'm screwed.

Plan by yourself and if she decides to go it will be a bonus. Can you do it by yourself?

Let's talk. I need to see what in the world I've done with all of my points. I "believe" that after I made our May booking, I banked our remaining points from our August 08 use year into our August 09 use year. I need to see what my balance is after banking and after the booking for the 2-bedroom, for Sukie, me and a couple of Arizona babes. I've never rented out points, but that's because of the whole stranger issue and you never know what crept out of the Black Lagoon.

Also - did you know that "The Closer" is one of Sukie's favorite shows.

I rented Kaylee's points and it was wonderful! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I thought I'd share something that might amuse you folks.

At one of my WW meetings this past Sunday, a member asked if I was going to give out Superbowl recipes.

This caught me really by surprise.

I said, "When's the Superbowl?"

I honestly had no clue.

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Ian, Holly.....what kind of weather are you sending to me and Michelle? I hear it's going to be an evil storm.....ice and snow. Yuck!

It's supposed to start here tonight. Happy Happy Joy Joy. I think we're getting up to 3 inches with ice and another 6 inches following it the next day. I don't mind the snow as much as I hate the ice. The combination is the worst. It's Winter. Last year was so much milder....we got spoiled.

Well we have about 6 inches here now. But as I said school was closed anyway for teacher's work day. So now we are flushing ice cubes down the toilet (or loo :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ), we have put our pj's on inside out, and lastly we are all putting spoons under our pillows......all to ensure school is closed tomorrow!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Plan by yourself and if she decides to go it will be a bonus. Can you do it by yourself?

Yup, I sure can! The original plan was for me & Tyler to go alone anyway, planning on using part of my tax refund. I do plan on booking this by myself and then if she does follow through, it's a bonus, and if she backs out on it, it's no big deal because I'll be paying in full when I book it. And Tyler doesn't know anything about it, so he won't be disappointed if they don't join us. :thumbsup2
