I am going to be leaving work shortly.

I think that today, given how I am feeling, I'll be taking the El home instead of commuter rail.

The El station is about 1.5 blocks from my house, but the ride to get home takes about 45 minutes. The ride on commuter rail takes 7 minutes, but the station is about 4/5 miles away from my house.

Given how I feel, perhaps the 4/5 mile walk in 16F weather might not be the prudent thing to do.

I hope by now you are home and snug in your bed.

And V I hope you are resting and breathing better now too :flower3:

Shannon, great pics, sounds like a fun time! :thumbsup2

Bubba, great pics too, we know you all had fun! ;)

I had a great time skiing today! A couple of the teachers were taking lots of pics, so as soon as they get them uploaded, I'll share here. I didn't get to ski much because they needed all the adults to help with the kids. It was a disaster. I was picking kids up left and right, as they kept falling trying to get UP the bunny hill! ;) Lots of grumpy and unhappy kids, but nobody broke anything, so that's good. Whenever a few kids went inside for a break, one teacher and I kept taking off for the bigger hills. :cool1: I used to ski a lot, started when I was 7 or 8 years old, and was in the ski club in middle school and high school. But I haven't gone for about 15 years, so I was worried about forgetting how. But just like everybody told me, as soon as I started going down the hill, I felt just like it had only been a couple weeks since I last skied. SO MUCH FUN!!!! I need to do it more often because it was so amazingly fun to do something I love so much. I'd forgotten how much I love it and I had just a major uplifting feeling afterwards. I was sort of floating on a cloud the whole ride home. Hard to explain, but it was wonderful!

Tyler, not so much. He was frustrated, angry, SCREAMING, throwing his stuff, pounding on a wood fence, etc. because he couldn't get up the bunny hill. Sorry to say this, but I sort of ignored him and pretended like he wasn't mine while I helped other kids who were actually trying (without throwing a fit). He stayed grumpy the rest of the day and was sound asleep in bed by 6:15!!!! He told me he was really tired and asked me if it was bedtime, so I told him it was (even though it wasn't). Hopefully when he wakes up in the morning, the crabbies will be gone.

BUT....I'm thinking of going skiing on Saturday while he's at his dad's!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Looks FANTASTIC!!! and come on... you two look down right skinny!!!!

(and tell me you didn't pick up your own little Plankman... they're contagious you know...) :thumbsup2

We did pick one up but we didn't buy it.......and you need glasses :rotfl2:

Venetia, AWESOME pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us. Yummy food, great times, I LOVE Gaylean's face about the bottomless drinks! :rotfl2: I need to show Tyler the pics because he still remembers Brooke. :thumbsup2 He mentioned her last week, he said, "I still have a crush on Brooke". :rotfl:

Brooke isn't aloud to date, sorry :rotfl2:

Great pics, looks like you guys had a blast! esp bottomless drinks, what can be better!

Nothing.....that's what the face is about. You should have seen my face when she told me it was only $10.00 :hyper:

Has anybody tried Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii yet with the WiiSpeak?

I'm curious as to how it all works - are you able to get a group conversation on it or is it just limited to one Wii to one Wii?

Animal Crossing and WiiSpeak are two different things, aren't they?

Wait, I take it back, it also comes packaged with Animal Crossing City folk.

As I understand it, WiiSpeak can handle chat up to 6 people at the same time in a "chat room". You can only chat with people with whom you are registered.

I don't know very much about Animal Crossing. Because it has seemed to me that it was a children's game.

The one area where I think the Wii is lacking is on cooperative play.

I have a couple of games (mainly Little Big Planet) that I play with other people on line. I also have a bluetooth headset that I chat with people while we're playing, determining strategy etc. This is all on the PS3, which I'm more familiar with, when it comes to group play, chatting, etc.

 Hi Kids.

Nasty busy at work. I also slept through most of the SAG awards last night. :sad2:

Toronto is on the other side of the country from me. Approximately 4294 kms away.

Just as a bit of an example of the distance, Anaheim is closer to Florida than I am to Toronto. Anaheim is 4013 km to Orlando.

Or rather roughly twice the distance as going from Madrid Spain to Berlin Germany.

And Toronto isn't even the far side of Canada!! That's still another 1500kms away!

Only a 2 hr drive away from where I am though!

Sounds like lots of hugs are needed for so many of you :grouphug: Hope everyone is feeling better soon, V, Ian, Michelle and Barb, Holly...did you call the dr? Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Venetia...I have LOVED seeing all of your birthday celebration pics:thumbsup2 Glad you and Bubba were able to have fun sharing your special day with Gaylean and family!

Deborah, I'm so glad that the damage to Olivia's teeth was at least only to baby teeth  How is Olivia? Did she ever tell you why her and the other girl were so upset with one another that it escalated to violence?

Shannon and Ken, cute pics of your girls at the dance!

Some pics from our weekend.

There was 8 kids and 8 adults in our group. So we had a kids table and an adults table. Here's a bunch of the kids.(Nephew-9,Shaelyn, Niece-12,Kaleigh,Neice-11) They all had fun, and went and played together in the hallway when they got bored waiting for their chance to dance inside.

Here's another nephew, during the "bonniest knees" contest. He's the blond with the black striped shirt.

It looks like you had fun :goodvibes We were thinking about you on Saturday.

Brooke isn't aloud to date, sorry :rotfl2:

:rotfl:That's OK, he already has his Florida girlfriend Bethany and his Michgan girlfriend Celes, he couldn't handle a California girlfriend too! :lmao: I'm not sure how he's going to act when he's together with both girls at WDW! :rotfl2: Or maybe the 2 girls will be getting at each other wanting his attention. On the cruise, I remember that Bethany wasn't too happy when Tyler was so taken with one of our tablemates, Chalotte, the same age as Tyler. :rotfl2: And Celes used to get upset when they went to school together and other girls would want to talk to him. :rotfl2:

I just registered everyone that Ian had on the Wii list on our machine.

Thnx Ian for compiling that list!

Woohoo It has warmed up here! It is now -23C(-9F).

Gaylean if you think you are cold there at 53F - subtract another 60 degrees! ;) Are you still wearing shorts? Seems like good temp to go and ride Splash Mountain!

:scared: I don't think so.

Who exactly is this so called Jackie?

Someone with a fried brain and a headache. I think I'm going home and just going to sit and stare into space.

O HECK....maybe I'll go home and take a NAP...just remembered The Closer is new tonight and that other new show is on too......don't think they come on till later.....

HEY....anybody here have DVC points they might want to rent? Don't know for sure yet, but Peg may be looking for up to 88 pts for BCV Su-Th after our Tortola cruise. I have a couple of DVC/DIS friends I will approach directly...don't like the idea of renting from strangers. I told her she needs to decide soon, as the 7 month booking window should be around the 2nd week of Feb.

....ok really going home now.....

.

OH boy......Tyler woke up this morning with a sore throat, but no other symptoms of anything, so I gave him some Motrin for the pain and took it with us in our lunchpack to give him more on the way home. It took effect after about 15 minutes this morning and he was fine until just about 7 hours later and it was hurting lots. So I gave it to him again and then after we left the school I stopped and got him an Icee (or Slurpy or Slushie, whatever it's called other places). He was amazed at how great that felt, so all was good. Now he just woke up telling me he's trying to take a drink but he can't swallow it because his throat hurts to bad. So I put a couple of those Choraseptic meltaway strips on his tongue and he said that made it feel a little bit better, enough where he said he can go back to sleep. No fever, no other symptoms, so hopefully it's no more than a sore throat.

We don't have much experience with getting sick because he's almost never sick. Last time he was sick was last January when he had the flu. I told his teacher about it today so she won't be surprised if he gets whiney tomorrow in school and she told him he can lay down if he wants to.

OK, as I'm typing he's whining again, so i gave him our last dose of Motrin. We'll have to go buy some tomorrow. I don't deal well with the whiney stuff. Yeah, I know it hurts, and I feel bad for him, but there's not much I can do about it except look for white spots to check for strep throat. :sad2: I certainly hope not. I'm covering for vacation this week and it was hard enough to get them to let me have today off.
