I booked the trip to DL and now Shannon and I are thinking about changing it.

We are looking at adding a day to the trip so we actually leave on the Sunday instead of the Saturday. If we add 2 days to the other side then we can have a more relaxing drive home ...

This may make it easier for a bigger dismeet for those that want to get together on the Friday night or the Saturday (heck we could probably even do a Sunday breakfast before we hit the road).

Who all is possibly able to make a dismeet at that time (March 16-21 or 22am only)? If anyone?

Just a quick check-in. My sister's nanny had a bad fall last week and is out of commission for awhile so.... Aunt Cheri/Mary Poppins to the rescue. I'm in Scottsdale doing nanny duty for the rest of the week. I don't think I'll have much to do during the day, so hopefully I can get caught up. Tomorrow of course I'll be watching the inauguration, etc. although I have a couple of dr. appointments during the day (very poor planning on my part).

Nan I understand this I know we've all been chatting for a very long time now, but I also know I've missed so very many posts, just haven't been able to always keep up, you know...life gets in the way! I've read a lot of posts about your mom, would love to hear some stories about your dad if you feel up to it

Thanks for asking Kathe. I guess like most dad's nothing really stands out other than we talked everyday of my adult life. He worked so much when I was little so we didn't have alot of time together then, but once he was retired and I was working he was always my rock, the one person that I could bounce ideas off of. He managed a trucking company, but also did the accounting early on, so we often talked about accounting specifics. Boring to most, but wonderful to have as a resource that you could always trust.

I was telling the kids the other day that Grandpa would have so loved to see Willie race. My parents lived 5+ hours away from us in San Jose, but always made the trip down whenever our kids had an event to see. They came to every birthday too. It's hard for me having Paul's parents in the next town that can't seem to even make it over once in a while for the kids, knowing that my parents (my dad driving) always came whenever invited. They travelled so much like Jan talked about when she got to see her grandbaby at Xmas.

I think I've told you before that Wilson is named after my dad too. My dad's name was Donald Wilson. I've always loved his middle name. When I told him about using it, I had to laugh because he told me then he always hated it I know he was so proud to have a grandson named after him. He loved my kiddos so much and I miss that the most.

Thanks again for asking and even more thanks for listening. It does help to cry and share the good memories

Well as you know Marilyn, I LOVE Chicago and I say that based on having lived in several cities in several countries.

I have wanted to visit for quite a few years. I like visiting cities(those worth visiting that it!!!). Our son went to a radiography conference 2 years running and liked what he saw very much.

Marilyn, we may have to do two meets that week. The weekend for those not available during the week, and sometime during the week for those with other plans on the weekend, of course, I'll be available for both Let us know when you've finalized your plans. I believe that Connie could meet up possibly in the afternoons or evening depending on if she gets her requests at work, and Monica can make it if it's a little later in the evening, after 7:30. I'm arriving on May 11th.

In NY you were never a too long drive from anywhere else, be it mountains, Boston, or DC.

In California, you have a lot to visit in surrounding areas.

Here in Chicago we're really not near anything else, not without a LONG drive.

We are. And Bubba and V will if it is on a weekend. I can email Kelly because she hasn't been posting. I know there are others but I'm not sure how to get a hold of them but maybe other people do. Just do what you guys can and we'll make it work. I thought she had an exam or something.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to say but mine really doesn't. There isn't room in the cabinet co they sit on my counter until someone comes over. Jon just told me that I should put them in the suitcase because we won't use them unless we go somewhere

How is the weather in Scottsdale at the end of March. We are trying to find a spring break destination. I guess the hotels would be expensive during that time.
