Someone on a UK board is doing a 3 month trip either this year or next.

This is her itinerary.

'When we leave Orlando, we are heading towards New Orleans but stopping at Florida City, Key west, Naples, Gainesville and Gulf Shores on the way. Then El Dorado, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Dodge City, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, San Fransisco, Napa, Arcata, Medford, Portland (Oregon), Seattle, Spokane, Butte, Forsyth, Bismarck, Watertown, Sioux City, Minneapolis, Rockford, Columbus, Winchester, Morgantown, Scranton, Springfield, Portland (Maine), Boston, Cape Cod, New York, Pocomoke, Virginia Beach, Fayetteville, Savannah and back to Orlando to AKL.'

I just couldn't face that, but perhaps if I was younger who knows.

Wow, that's one heck of a trip! Amazing!

That's weird because I had a dream that we were painting the house RED. The outside. As Jon and I were scraping the old paint off a huge bus of people came honking by and it was all of you. You were packed so tight that your heads had to stick out the window. I think you were there to help, I don't remember. But here is the funny part. Jon's mom was there and she was telling me how much she loved me and how great I was :faint:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, this looks a bit like the trip we are planning to do in 2011! My goal is to sell my practice and home and buy an RV. We would homeschool the girls and travel the US for a year....and of course make some needed side trips into Canada!

Just popping over on my day off to say hi to everyone :wave2:
Hope you are all doing great! I have been having a rough week or so which makes typing and writing pretty difficult (you should have seen me draw blood the other day, yikes!), so although I have stopped in here randomly, I usually am not posting. Hopefully I am on the upside of this flare and will recover soon. Still getting ready for our DL trip in less than a month:)

Great to hear from you Kaylee! :goodvibes Sorry your week has been rough, hope it improves soon. We all miss you being on here regularly. Your DL trip will be here before you know it! :cool1:

One of the best pieces of advice someone gave me when I lost my Dad is that if I did not cry and if I did not miss him, it would mean that he did not matter. And he did. So I let the emotions flow.

I'm still doing that...

Ok how's this for a roadtrip?

I haven't quite figured out how to add Britain and Scotland to the map yet. And of course I can't forget my compatriot out in Ontario (Kathe) that would have to be added, but I think I got most of us covered (or at least within some proximity that could be covered). I also believe we would have to make a detour for Jill and Matt - just so I could be there to take a picture of the two of them when they needed it.

And I think I would modify it to go up the California/Oregon coast.

So who did I miss?

According to Google maps it is only 14746km (9163 miles) or about 6 days worth of driving.

Um.... couldn't you have just cut across Wisconsin???

hi all, we made it back this am from WDW....a little on the sleepy side, but had a great time!

Was it a good trip??? Pictures please!!! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh... Skip Scranton... my brother went to college there and it's nothing much... you COULD come to Glenville (Albany)... I've got a couch...

I would do it when it isn't snowing.

And on only 1 tank of gas... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Well, we had a super relaxing day here today. I had breakfast with Tyler and then went back to sleep for another hour and when I woke up he told me he had bagged up some more toys to give away that he doesn't play with anymore. :thumbsup2 I can't remember what else we did today, but after lunch we both took a 4 hour nap again today! We stayed in our pajamas all day, until it was time to go to occupational therapy at 5:30. We even skipped karate today just because Tyler asked if we could stay home in our pajamas longer. We watched a couple movies, looked at some things online together, and just did lazy things. It was very nice! After OT we had supper and it was bedtime for Tyler shortly after. Back to the real world tomorrow.

We are sitting here watching the Muppet Show season 1 episode 22 with Ethel Merman and this little bit comes on and the girls laugh themselves silly.

I guess it transcends generations ... What is old is new again.

Oh Ken, I have such great memories of the Muppet Show! After my parents divorce, when my dad lived in his first apartment, he and I would watch every episode we could together and just crack up laughing! The clip you posted just now had me cracking up so loud just now! Here's my favorite of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPRB4XF74-Q

Now that Tyler's discovered a love for YouTube, I'm going to find lots of Muppets clips to show him tomorrow after work! :cool1:

Yep the girls loved that one too! We have Season 1 and Season 2 on DVD so we've been watching those every once in awhile.

Holy Cow.

Kaylee posted that Disneyland.com doesn't have their schedule up for March as of yet.

So I went there and sent them a message asking about March's schedule, afterall many of the hotels are already getting booked up for that month.

I got an auto-response saying that "If your message is regarding a request for planning information on an upcoming visit, our current response time is up to 10 business days. "

Now I don't know if that is an automatic time they say to give themselves lots of leniency or if it is auto calculated date, but it seems quite the time frame to get back to someone who is planning a trip there.

Hi Kaylee!!! You could travel from place to place with all of your friends here and always feel like you have a home!!! ;)

Very cool. If you were to go back off the pier and straight up State St. 6 blocks and hang a left you would be at my work.

We could do lunch... :thumbsup2

I HATE cutting in!!!

You have a big mess to fix when you get home!!

Oh and our new countertop is installed.

& the reason for the mess is???

Nice that our schedules are exact opposite!!! Someday we'll have a schedule that works for a big reunion....has anyone talked about that? I know there are constant reunions going on though....sounds like the april repo will be a big one as well as the tortula in sept. Not for me though:(

Yeah we are in the same boat. April Repo and Tortola are out; although I keep looking.

A giant reunion may be difficult due to the sheer distances we are all from each other. This planet is just so darned big!!

Perhaps the next Panama Canal repo...

And you never know. In 2005 we went to DL in May (took our daughters for the first time - Kaleigh was 3 months old), and then in October we just up and decided to go back again with the girls. So we have been known to make plans up as we go along and just say "screw it we are going".

Next Repo... we're in!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Lets just start the list now... ::yes:: ::yes::

Ken, that is an automatic response...kind of a 'cover our behind' one. You should hear from them much sooner that that.

Everyone is pretty much aghast at the delay in park hours/event times being posted for both DLR and WDW.

Despite the unbelievably long naps today and yesterday, I'm still wiped out. I think what I really need is one day of coming home from work and going right to bed. Maybe I'll do that on Wednesday. Headed to bed now though. Goodnight all! :cloud9:

It's been sort of odd, over the past couple of weeks, my 11:00AM Sunday WW meeting have been very curious about my experience losing weight and my journey.

I told them something yesterday that had them both riveted and laughing.

I told them that in the 18 months it took me to reach goal, nobody (other than Sukie) knew I was on Weight Watchers. I kept it a complete secret. If people asked me whether anything was different, I would tell them that I got my hair cut.

I told them that I had decided I would never, go to dinner with friends and announce that I was on Weight Watchers.

The part that made the meeting laugh, was that the thought occurred to me that I had never before gone to dinner and announced to the table, "Hey everyone, I want you to know that I'm planning on overeating tonight. I also plan on making choices that are really high in fat and in calories. In fact, I'm going eat to the point of it being painful. So painful that what you don't know is that I'm going to have to unbutton my pants when I get in the car, just so I can drive home!"

Since I had never made an announcement like that before WW, I decided then why should I suddenly announce that I was planning to eat sensibly and healthy.

The meeting room was roaring.

Of course I told them that everyone's journey is personal, and that was my strategy and worked for me. Just like some members might really want the support of friends and family, in which case, that would be their journey.

Be via, bicycle, bus, train, car, airplane, or pogo stick we all have the same destination, but the experience of our journey might be different, as may be the scenery and stops along the way.

(Don't anybody fall over because when I want to, I can be quite sympathetic.)

Some of us know the secret side of you... and we're keeping the others guessing... ::yes:: ::yes::

I love it Ian :goodvibes I have to say though, if I get the pogo stick, I will not be making it to my destination :upsidedow

Kathe

Whoa.... LOOK!!!! There goes Kathe... :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

Nope. My mother lives in Kansas City. She would send out Capone's ghost to get me in Chicago if I didn't go there a visit.

Ok... we'll let you go... meet us at Ian's house...

Ok... anyone want to guess if my niece (at college in Baltimore) will be going to DC tomorrow or Class????

Well... a miracle is about to occur...

I am going to sleep...

Not that it is an earth shattering occurance to all of you... but to me... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I have vowed that I will NOT sleep through History...

Mom and I have lunch all planned out and we'll settle in and celebrate...

It IS a new day!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Aarrrggghhh

I booked the trip to DL and now Shannon and I are thinking about changing it.

We are looking at adding a day to the trip so we actually leave on the Sunday instead of the Saturday. If we add 2 days to the other side then we can have a more relaxing drive home ...

This may make it easier for a bigger dismeet for those that want to get together on the Friday night or the Saturday (heck we could probably even do a Sunday breakfast before we hit the road).

Who all is possibly able to make a dismeet at that time (March 16-21 or 22am only)? If anyone?
