I love your mickey phone!!!

I need to join the Y up here... they have a indoor pool and everyone uses it like a community center. :)

Okay ya know the Dino ride in AK? Well being the mean mom that I am I was able to ride it first and then plant Molly on the side where she would be totally freaked out from the Dino that tried to eat her for lunch.

Look closely she is the one in the 2nd row on the end...the rest of the front 2 rows are all family it was hirlarous

Then since I can't stand not telling her that I created the scare she got mad and pouted in the store just outside the ride

I can only hope that I'm still young enough to play these kind of gags on her kids with her when she is a mom.

I tell ya, I was the BIGGEST fraidycat as a child and my sisters and brother-in-laws ALWAYS made fun of me and tried to scare me. Those are some of the best childhood memories I have...so I really don't scare her out of meanness, just out of a misplaced sense of my own fun as a child. Of course, she will not appreicate any of this for many years to come and even then I just its a crap shoot on if she will grown into the trickster like her mama :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LOL!! Great minds think a like Nan!

I did the same thing to Shannon in 2006. I rode it once with my sister and Shaelyn (we got a car all to ourselves as part of the Year of a million dreams) and then we did the child swap and I rode it again with Shannon. I set her up on the outside so she got munched first.

Here's the pic then (needs to be lightened up drastically):

But he didn't take her to Panama... now did he?????

oh sure, remind me again of my stupid answer

I'd say I'll remember Niagra Falls is in Ontario and New York in the future, but I'm sure I'll forget the US part again in the future.

Are you having another bad weekend Michelle? Are you staying up to say hi to Marilyn and Deborah?

If I take you to Niagara Falls, will you LOVE me then? (instead of Toby)

Does it involve a barrel???

I have to agree... the Canadian side is MUCH nicer... :goodvibes

We are going to call it a night too as we have to get up early to paint the living room. Once the football games start I'm done painting.

Good Morning Marilyn an Deborah!

Marilyn, unfortunately, I can relate to your sleeping woes :sad2: I always related it to the fact I was a worrier, but thought it would improve now that my children are adults and have moved away...but it seems to be worse instead of better.

I never thought I would ever cruise! The Sept cruises will be #2 and #3 for me, so I know the feeling! I only wish my DH could have had these experiences with me.

I think we need Woody to give presentations too! What a great idea! Hey Woody. Hurry up and finish your cruise so you can report back to us :lmao:

I would love to go to Hawaii. I'd love to see Alaska some day, but I want some warmer ports first, especially since my 2010 cruise probably won't be too warm! After the PC cruise and the upcoming WC, I think I am done with mexico for a while. Now South America is another story! Ah well, it's all really dreaming at this point of time:rolleyes:

Kathe

I am after warmth, particularly as I get older!!!!!

I'm sorry your husband isn't here to share your new found love of cruising Kathe:hug:

Goodnight. Hope you have a good sleep pixiedust:

Kathe

Thanks, took a while to nod off, but got a few hours good sleep.

Here's something funny. When we were at our friends' house tonight, when the mom was getting the kids ready to make playdough, she was trying to take the top off a new bottle of cooking oil. She was having trouble with it and Tyler said, "Give it to my mom. She can definitely do it because she's been working out!" :rotfl2: She was trying soooo hard not to laugh! :rotfl: I assured her I was only using the treadmill, so I had no extra magical hand strength over her.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

::yes:: I concur, but is Toyko warm???? Naw, I'm set to sail from Germany with friends from NYE cruise when the ship breaks free from it's builders :hyper:

Off to bed early tonight. I've got a terrible pain with my siatic (sp) nerve. Just started this morning and I've been hurting all day. I think I'll watch a little Nip/Tuck in bed and hopefully sleep it off.

Catch ya tomorrow :wave2:

You have friends from another cruise who you want to cruise with????:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Hope the sciatica settles. You have my sympathies. Take care.

So I found out that if go to to WDW to do the courses at the Disney Institute in May that I don't have to stay at the Yacht Club after all... NOTHING against it... but mom will be with me also for part of the time and she gets around MUCH better on the monorails...

The one week course will cost almost $5,000, (The company is paying...) I'm allowed to bring a camera but I will be limited to it's use since I will be doing alot of backstage stuff and I have to wear business casual and comfy walking shoes...

They feed me a buffet breakfast and lunch will be provided along the way during the tours and classes but I have to get my own Din Din cause class ends around 4 pm... Sooo... if anyone (except Monica... cause she'll be cruising that week...:cheer2: :cheer2: ) is up for it...I may be around for dinner...

I'll let you know when I book it... probably will be sometime at the end of the month or so...

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

so we went to AK today....Boma for dinner. Was actually not too bad weather wise. Coooool in the shade.

OKW is fantastic. I sit here on the pc looking at this clean nothing on the counters kitchen and want to run to Publix to start cooking something!! It is killing me!

I am watching the Notebook.....and crying now.

I'm beginning to fancy staying at OKW. I'm going to ask Ian and Sukie for a nosey round their place to check it out!;)

Gee... I know what that's like... :rotfl:

But you have a reason to not sleep Michelle, unlike me!

We just finished watching the DVD of "The Black Book" that we rented from Netflix.

It was a GREAT movie but talk about INTENSE.

It is a film mainly in Dutch with subtitles. The acting and direction were stupendous.

But it was VERY intense. It is also not suitable for younger viewers.

"The Black Book" is about a Jewish woman in Nazi occupied Netherlands, who, once forced out of hiding finds herself both working for the resistance and in the line of duty, in the bed of a Nazi officer.

It was directed by Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct).

Here is the synopisis I copied off of Netflix:

"Director Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall) brings his war drama based on long-forgotten true events surrounding the end of World War II. Rachel Stein (Carice van Houten) is a beautiful Jewish woman hiding out in Holland from the Nazis. When her plan to escape goes terribly wrong, she manages to take on a new identity and infiltrate the enemy. But working for both sides takes its toll -- especially when they both turn against her."

Nan, does that answer your question?

Good morning all!

I will be off shortly for my Sunday morning WW meetings.

I hope my attendance numbers are as good as last week ... gotta save up for May.

My paychecks had shrunk to the point of where I was questioning whether or not it was worth giving up a half-day on Sunday mornings to work there.

The extra money was nice for all the "extras" such as vacations, and new computers.

We have nothing planned today, except I might be taking a run to Costco later.

Still no TV. We won't have any TV until February 7th, so basically we will have gone a month without television, other than a few things we already had on the Tivo and DVDs.

I'm beginning to fancy staying at OKW. I'm going to ask Ian and Sukie for a nosey round their place to check it out!;)

Marilyn, you are more than welcome to.

I have requested a "canal view" and I really hope we get it.

We had never really considered OKW, until on a past trip we took the boat from OKW to DTD and passed a set of villas on a bend in the canal. It was beautiful.

A guy at work who is a major Disney fanatic and owns over 600 points at a combined 3 resorts (OKW, BCV and SSR) told me that we should be able to get the canal view unit because the buildings are the furthest away from the hospitality center and food.

That suits us. I don't mind walking, plus we'll have a car for the trip.

Sukie really wants something "different," and I am looking forward to morning coffee on one of those big OKW balconies, overlooking the canal.

I have heard that the OKW units are the biggest. The large balconies with tables for meals, plus the hot tubs are two person hot tubs, unlike the ones at the other DVC resorts.

I can remember before it was called OKW, and it was just called the Disney Vacation Club.

I had looked into buying some years ago. They were only selling OKW, and had just started selling Vero Beach. I think they might have been planning the boardwalk.

I went on the tour, etc. It was $65 a point. Sukie talked me out of buying into it because, "How could we possibly get any benefit out of it?"

However, I have been able to extract some satisfaction, because I usually remind him of this statement from time to time. Usually when we are WDW.

Why in the world am I so damn chatty this morning?

(OK, gotta I've got to leave for work now!)

Nan

It remind me that Keith had refused any rides and when Universal studios in LA and we were on the rides of Simpson then Keith got panic attack... He had to leave with one of staff...:scared:

We went to Pirates of the Carbibbean rides and managed to get Keith on and he was so terrified as not much roller rides is it? only small down rides he got panic and shouted at us...

That photo remind me exactly same as Keith.....:sad2:

Olivia have no fear, she do anything on roller rides even Californa big rides we were on apart from Keith (I was a bit scarey) Olivia loved it oh god...

I'll be glad when January is over! Bad enough that it's so cold and snowy, but a good friend of mine's mom passed away a week and a half ago and she was so close to her and is so sad :sad1: I know a lot of you can relate to this :grouphug: A few days ago my sister-in-law's very good friend died, she was only 61 . She was such a nice person, just collapsed and died a few days later, they aren't sure yet what happened. She was a nurse in the oncology dept. Next Saturday is the 7th anniversary of Charlie's death (my DH) :sad1:

Kathe

I send you my  know how you feel about 7th...

Oh yes!!! Hopefully by then there will be another DCL ship with different itineraries.

I still wouldn't mind another PC cruise with some different ports. That would mean we could do some west coast visits. I'm not sure I would get John to Hawaii unfortunately, but as I never thought I would ever get him on a cruise, and in September we are taking no's 3 & 4 you just never know.

We need a presentation by Woody on all the places he has visited to help us choose.

I would love to go to Hawaii with Disney cruise as it will be awesome...

There was an interesting programme on BBC last night. 'What the Victorians did for us' with Adam Hart-Davis. It is a series, but last night it was on new Victorian standards. I thought you would have enjoyed it Ian.

This show was on US TV a while back, on the History Channel, I think. I watched the little segment they showed on U Tube, and I realized I had seen it before.

Today I went to the Central Florida Highland Games....it was so much fun! I actually made myself a new outfit to wear. I'll download the photo.

There was a lot of cute guys there in kilts!

well you miss out my Husband worn the kilt last May....
