YOu know that if I have anything to do with things---we'll do it together :thumbsup2

I think I'll be able to cruise again in 2010 too, so maybe I can butt in and join you both! I'm ready for a vacation without Tyler.

Well, I'm open for some exciting destinations on a cruise for 2011 . And after the APRIL TA I'm thinking it will have to be warm :beach:

Kathe

You're stuck with us on the eastbound transatlantic.

.....

I find it creepy that people who couldn't give me the time of day in HS now want to be my friend.. . did they finally figure out I'm incredible and can't live without me??? :snooty:

Some of us don't have lives... or we work in front of a computer all day with lots of breaks between work...

I wonder if they want to see if our lives have turned out better or worse than theirs. :scratchin If ours are better, we will never hear from them again as they do not want to feel inferior and if ours are worse it will confirm their egomaniacal thoughts that they are superior.
.

We just finished watching the DVD of "The Black Book" that we rented from Netflix.

It was a GREAT movie but talk about INTENSE.

It is a film mainly in Dutch with subtitles. The acting and direction were stupendous.

But it was VERY intense. It is also not suitable for younger viewers.

Our schools in Illinois never gave the day off for a Presidential inauguration. I wonder why they have started to do it now. I will have to check to see if they are giving the day off here. It seems to me that for the short ceremony, they could show it on the classroom TV and not disrupt the whole week for it.

That's what they've always done here, and still do as far as I know. I've never heard of schools having the day off for the inauguration.

I'll be sure to tape it for Tyler though. He was talking tonight about how excited he is. He's weird. I've never heard of a kid having a favorite president before, until Tyler. His favorite is Lincoln. :confused3

Well, I had a wonderful almost 2 and a half hour nap today! I was sleeping so soundly, I slept right through my alarm. Somehow I woke up suddenly at about 4:45. I had just enough time to throw on some clothes and go pick up Tyler. No time to shovel first. We came home for a quick supper and then went to Tyler's friend's house to play. They played a while, then made scented playdough, played Disney DVD Bingo (we brought it with us to their house), then they played a little more. It was a great time, but his friend cried when we had to leave. He said, "But you just got here!" :rotfl2: We had been there for 3 hours at that point! :rotfl:We'll probably go again next weekend.

Here's something funny. When we were at our friends' house tonight, when the mom was getting the kids ready to make playdough, she was trying to take the top off a new bottle of cooking oil. She was having trouble with it and Tyler said, "Give it to my mom. She can definitely do it because she's been working out!" :rotfl2: She was trying soooo hard not to laugh! :rotfl: I assured her I was only using the treadmill, so I had no extra magical hand strength over her. :lmao:

Well, I'm having a hard time staying awake. Goodnight everybody! :cloud9:

Oh I almost went to see SlumDog yesterday, then didn't. I should check times and see if I've waited to long to hit a twilight.

later kids!

I want to see Slumdog too! Would love to hear a review from you both! It's not even playing here yet

Kathe

back from the flick. It was good, sad but good. I wish there was more Bollywood Dancing ::yes::

I'll be glad when January is over! Bad enough that it's so cold and snowy, but a good friend of mine's mom passed away a week and a half ago and she was so close to her and is so sad :sad1: I know a lot of you can relate to this :grouphug: A few days ago my sister-in-law's very good friend died, she was only 61 . She was such a nice person, just collapsed and died a few days later, they aren't sure yet what happened. She was a nurse in the oncology dept. Next Saturday is the 7th anniversary of Charlie's death (my DH) :sad1:

Kathe

Kathe I'm sorry and will be thinking of you this up coming week.

I'm also blue it's the 3rd year without my dad, near the end of the month :sad1:

Well, I'm open for some exciting destinations on a cruise for 2011 . And after the APRIL TA I'm thinking it will have to be warm :beach:

Kathe

::yes:: I concur, but is Toyko warm???? Naw, I'm set to sail from Germany with friends from NYE cruise when the ship breaks free from it's builders :hyper:

Nan, great pics!!! I find this funny because in our family it works in reverse :upsidedow My kids do this type of thing to ME :scared1: They actually talked me into going onto THE HULK a couple years ago at Universal ....and still laugh about it :faint:

Kathe

and even being the person of torture, you are laughing now right???:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

You and Paul are the ones who have to decide what works for you and for your family. We know you will figure out what is best. ::yes::

and thanks for listening. Sometimes this kind of stuff needs to be voiced to make it real and help me decide what I really want.:flower3:

Tyler and I both want to see "Hotel for Dogs". Let us know how your kids like it.

they loved it. lots of contraptions and Wilson is famous for building and loving those :thumbsup2 and of course the dogs are cute too. Didn't Tyler get a dog at his dad's a while back? am I remembering something in a dream here???

thank you from one MEAN mom to another :upsidedow

topic???

Willie has a love of Lincoln too. Actually I think alot of kids like Presidents. They learn about them in school as heros from the past so what's not to like??? Wilson memorized the Gettsburg Address in 2nd grade. It was really cool. I had never even read it all the way though before, some times my kid makes me feel a little dumb :guilty:

Off to bed early tonight. I've got a terrible pain with my siatic (sp) nerve. Just started this morning and I've been hurting all day. I think I'll watch a little Nip/Tuck in bed and hopefully sleep it off.

Catch ya tomorrow :wave2:

Does anybody know how long the inauguration is supposed to last? I want to make sure I use a tape long enough to record it for Tyler to watch because he says he wants to see it (even though I'm sure he'll get bored soon).

Holly... set your vcr for around 10:30-11 on the slowest speed so you can get at least 6 hours out of the tape.

Great going & good idea.

I've been riding the elevator to the 3rd floor then taking the steps to the 4th (where my office is). Next week I'll try 2 flights. I also am going to the restroom on the 3rd floor instead on my floor.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think creepy. Michelle also had an old high school friend look her up, it was weird. I've had a few girls friend me thru another friend (a boy) which I find really funny because I just didn't have any girl friends in high school that stuck. Always a boy friend and girl friends from other places, like work or church. High School was a strange time for me.

ME TOO!!!! High school was H E L L for me... Oh and the guy tried again to be friends... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: How many times can you hit ignore... the only problem is that he's also friends with some of my other friends so he sees stuff anyway... even if I block him...

Hello

did you have a good day?

Now I am off to worknight out as there will be disco and buffet.. My two friends are coming with me ...I only go for raffles as big raffles prizes I only keen to win 60 euros :) :thumbsup2

I am off soon

Bye bye

Scottishwee35

Oh Deborah... I hope you won!!!

So I found out that if go to to WDW to do the courses at the Disney Institute in May that I don't have to stay at the Yacht Club after all... NOTHING against it... but mom will be with me also for part of the time and she gets around MUCH better on the monorails...

The one week course will cost almost $5,000, (The company is paying...) I'm allowed to bring a camera but I will be limited to it's use since I will be doing alot of backstage stuff and I have to wear business casual and comfy walking shoes...

They feed me a buffet breakfast and lunch will be provided along the way during the tours and classes but I have to get my own Din Din cause class ends around 4 pm... Sooo... if anyone (except Monica... cause she'll be cruising that week...:cheer2: :cheer2: ) is up for it...I may be around for dinner...

I'll let you know when I book it... probably will be sometime at the end of the month or so...

I just found out about the connection btwn Ian Fleming, 007, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang & Kent...quite interesting.

I believe the Battle of Britain site is not too far from Dover too.

Ok.. explain Chitty Chitty.... I know... movie and such... I want the dirt...

Do they have English muffins over there now? They didn't exist when I was living there.

They came from Totowa... where they make them...

Hi friends.....John and me are enjoying our peaceful and quiet space today. It's wonderful.

We had quite a good chuckle this morning when I read on Tom's myspace comment that he pierced his lip last night and got yelled at by his parents and had to take it out. He wasn't even home 24 hours yet. Their problem now, not mine. I said Tom won't even last a week and Joe will be throwing him out. Not sure where he'll go, but it won't be my house.

brb, John has to rewrap the leg bandages.

Glad to know that life has gone back to normal... enjoy some time together - go find some bubbly or a nice place that serves it!!!

Well, when do you want to meet up? We are there for over 5 weeks, so park rime isn't as important to us obviously so we can pretty much fit in with you. Do you want to meet for a meal? In a park? Is the Sunday your first full day because Lisa and Darryll probably can only make that day. We need to contact Lisa as she isn't here too much. Not sure of Michelle's dates, but we must meet up once or twice. Of course there could be 2 meets! We are there all week, and have a couple of other meets to finalise too!!!

Going to be a good week.

Our first full day is Saturday.

Maybe we should think about Sunday lunch (or "dinner" as you northern heathen would say). It could be in a park, a resort or DTD. I rather like Artist's Palatte at DTD if the truth be known.

Or, perhaps brunch at Olivia's.

I should be there the week of April 26th - May 9th - depending on what's avail for me to stay at....

We could also think about the GF cafe...it's nice and has lots of room... anywhere is fine with me... :thumbsup2

OK, I didn't want you to go see the film and expect Mary Poppins.

Well not unless it was this version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T5_0AGdFic

Ahhhh Steven King meets Mary Poppins... :lmao:

Thanks that is very interesting. I now feel like a toasted English muffin for supper!

Funny, there is a longish thread on a UK board I frequent about the different mealtime terms we use accross the country. It is quite funny, and yes you are correct about us Northerners!!!!!:lmao:

Sunday lunch or brunch would be great and a lovely way to start the vacation(though we arrive on the Wednesday before, the vacation proper doesn't begin till we have met a friend or two!!).

That is a good start. Artist's Palette is actually at SSR so do you mean that or somewhere at DTD. We did enjoy the breakfast at Olivias in December and that would be home to you and just up the river for us. We just moved outside when Olivias closed to continue our chatting!!!

Will this all interfere with getting the best use from your DP credits?

Just let me know where... and I think I'm going to go and toast a bagel...

Okay ya know the Dino ride in AK? Well being the mean mom that I am I was able to ride it first and then plant Molly on the side where she would be totally freaked out from the Dino that tried to eat her for lunch.

Look closely she is the one in the 2nd row on the end...the rest of the front 2 rows are all family it was hirlarous

IMG_3751.jpg

Then since I can't stand not telling her that I created the scare she got mad and pouted in the store just outside the ride

IMG_3752.jpg

I can only hope that I'm still young enough to play these kind of gags on her kids with her when she is a mom.

I tell ya, I was the BIGGEST fraidycat as a child and my sisters and brother-in-laws ALWAYS made fun of me and tried to scare me. Those are some of the best childhood memories I have...so I really don't scare her out of meanness, just out of a misplaced sense of my own fun as a child. Of course, she will not appreicate any of this for many years to come and even then I just its a crap shoot on if she will grown into the trickster like her mama :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nan... just remember that they are the ones who one day will be putting you into a nursing home... IN NEBRASKA!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi Monica  Yup, I'm staying in tonight! Going to go have a nice soaky, hot, bubbly bath very shortly :thumbsup2 Are you busy planning your Baltics cruise? I'm so excited for you! Wish I had more vacation time, I'd be booking too!

Kathe

Yep - hope it all goes as I plan :)

Now this opens up 2010....hmmmmmmmmm...what to do then??

Hot bubble bath sounds wonderful - I could possibly do that too :upsidedow

I see that we all tackle the tough times in the same way... I have a card that says "When I have a bad day, I take a bubble bath..... I've been in here since last Thursday!!!)

2010 :confused3 There's always the EBTA :thumbsup2 I know, I know , you'd get seasick :sad2:

Kathe

Not with alot of bonine and rum...

I find it creepy that people who couldn't give me the time of day in HS now want to be my friend.. . did they finally figure out I'm incredible and can't live without me??? :snooty:

I so agree with you...I was an oddball sort of person in HS. I was with the popular crowd by default through activities, hung with many from the performing arts and since I will talk to a lamp post if forced...always spoke to everyone and my Grandma always told me to be nice to EVERYONE no matter what.
It burns me up when certain people are trying to add me on FB...most everyone I don't mind, but the rude people in HS....google me, see if you can find dirt....don't act like you are my friend now!

so we went to AK today....Boma for dinner. Was actually not too bad weather wise. Coooool in the shade.

OKW is fantastic. I sit here on the pc looking at this clean nothing on the counters kitchen and want to run to Publix to start cooking something!! It is killing me!

I am watching the Notebook.....and crying now.

Well, that would be great if we could manage that. Lets hope for some great itineraries!!!

Just can't sleep. No reason, just one of those nights.:confused3 Once I am well awake though the old mind gets going!!!

Gee... I know what that's like... :rotfl:

Hi Michelle :wave2: I'm off to my bath full of bubbles shortly and then to bed so just wanted to say hi first  Any body have a smilie for a tub full of bubbles? Ken????

Kathe

Boy, with the cost of that program, you should know enough to RUN WDW!!!! We can have lunch or dinner or something while you are there. I will be around, of course. I won't be on a Baltic Cruise like some people we know!!!!:thumbsup2

Also, how in the world do you guys keep up with Facebook?

I have so little time, it can be an effort to keep up with this thread.

I can't keep up with it. I think its funny how some people from long ago want to be friends. For some, its neat to reconnect with people I liked, and others who never would associate with me in high school are just trying to increase the # of friends they have. For many its a popularity thing to have the most friends.

Good morning DISers. I want to walk to the movies today to see Bedtime Stories. I'm sure Jon will say "I'll meet you there" :lmao:

It is suppose to be in the upper 80s today so it is warm but for some reason 87 feels better in the winter than it does in the summer. I guess because you spend half of the day warming up from the freezing night. Freezing meaning 60.

I'm not sure what happened to everyone last night. Sorry if it was me. I went to bowl and started dancing with Brooke.

We got caught up in TV show, and then I fell asleep.

OK, so that last movie, "American Crude", sucked after all. Hopefully the next one is better. I'm watching Toby Keith's "Beer for My Horses". I LOVE him, so it hope it's good! :goodvibes

Holly - how wast Toby's movie? I love him, and am curious about the movie. :confused3

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Of course, the entire question is wrong! The question should read:
What Canadian province is home to Niagara Falls ;)

Kathe

Now that question I would have gotten correct. :thumbsup2

Alberta... Right??? :rotfl:

We had a busy day here. The girls had swimming lesson, and I went in and swam a few lengths and did some aquacizes. Then picked some paint rollers, and Subway. Then we emptied out the living room and hallway and got most of it primed. Tomorrow, we will hopefully get all the walls painted.

Here's a pic at the pool. Kaleigh really likes to float:

Here's a "near the beginning" shot when we had the room partly emptied:
