Uggghh.....good luck babysitting, Nan. I don't envy you. I don't like little kids either. I often wonder how Tyler survived his baby and toddler years.

okay we all made it out alive. I'm so glad my kids are older now. And more glad for them that I had a nanny when they were that age, otherwise I'd have killed them.

Not sure what it is about being with small kids but I find it totally mind numbing, not in a good way.

They are coming back tonight, thank heavens Wilson and Paul will be home to entertain them.

I've always wanted to make one on those. But not Mickey Pool...did ya see that??? Cop out me thinks. I'll show it the boy and see if he wants to try to build one again. We talked about it once.

Wii topic...our Stars Wars Lego game had some scratches on it, so we returned it for another, but no luck they only had the one copy. So we exchanged it for Batman...tonight we will be wiing on that game. I'll let y anow Ken how we like it on wii. I'm just so puny, huh?

V/Bubba: Pictures from yesterday please :flower3:

V: hope you are feeling better from your cold.

We got a card from some chick named Cheri.

It was pretty cool.

Though we thought it was odd to be getting a 2010 Christmas card so early.

very funny! in fact i`ll have a whole NEW batch of pictures to use for next year's cards...and i might even get them out on time! unless i win another cruise this year. ;-)

well this week has turned out quite differently than i thought it would. i imagined i was going to have all this time to myself. in reality i've been on the go the whole time. in addition to being substitute nanny i've been taking the regular nanny to her dr. appointments since she can't drive. but it's the early (by MY standards) mornings that are about to do me in! this 6:30 a.m. stuff is NOT compatable with my night owl ways!

I managed to stay away from the donuts. Now I've been here 5 1/2 hours, and it's time for lunch! Woohoo!

wow you got the willpower:thumbsup2

Normally Ken comes home on Thursday's but he's not which is good since his side of the bed is covered with the kids dirty laundry :rotfl2:
And I've completely turned his chair in the rec room into my workzone for cleaning up my volunteer work :rotfl2:

I'm ready for a weekend, and I still have a day and a half of work :sad2:

But I was really happy to watch :happytv: LOST last night :cool1: And I'm so happy Jack shaved off that horrid beard. I'm not sure what game Sun is playing, but its looks like she's manipulating Kate.

And I managed to get the kids to daycare on time today without arguing with Shaelyn :cool1: instead I was snapping at Kaleigh  I had her pick out her clothes last night, but she didn't pick out her socks. I was able to get dressed, brush hair&teeth and she was still standing staring into her drawer deciding which socks to wear

And now its time to get off the computer and get back to work. :crazy2:

Aww but I am laughing about Kaleigh...that was Olivia...

also it remind me... that my two neice...

when my sister in law dressed up at first Neice Nicola she was only about 2 half years old then changed her second neice Lorraine when she was baby. Turn around discovered that Nicola took everything off and stand naked.... Oh sister in law was mad with her as she was ready to go out... she had to dressed her up again... that was long times ago...

as i write this i'm waiting for her as she gets an MRI. been here about 90 minutes!

hope she is okay with MRI...

You have got to stop talking about Donuts.....I want one so bad and dunkin Donuts is so close!!

:rotfl2:Sorry Lisa! When they get us donuts from Dunkin Donuts, I have no problem staying away. They're always a bit hard compared to the yummy ones they get more often from a great local bakery.

No gym for me tonight. I worked 7-7 (except for an hour for Tyler's med check). My head is pounding and I needed to get off my feet. Can't do the gym tomorrow either because I'm going to bingo right after work. So just yesterday and Saturday. Not good......but I'll try to cut back on the unhealthy foods and do smaller portions and try to exercise a bit at home to make up for not going today or tomorrow. :thumbsup2

I'm having a horrible day. Ethan has had an attitude all day and is apparently starving to death. Brooke has been crying because she can't go to her friend's party. I volunteered in Brooke's class today and did about two hours of copying and making books and then when I went to drop it off for her she had two hours more work for me to do. This is the new teacher because her teacher had her baby. She doesn't know how to do anything. The first grade teachers usually all work together so that the volunteers are only doing one project but for all three first grade classes. She refuses to do it this way and for some reason it seems like a lot more for me. Anyway, now I'm cooking and I have to go to Boy Scouts but there is nothing inside me that wants to do that right now.

The murder at Tech last night was terrible. Daniel had spent 5 hours studing in the same cafe as the murder during the day yesterday. The suspect was sitting in the cafe and the decapitated his victim right there in the cafe. Can you just imagine???

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Alone and in a new country, graduate student Xin Yang reached out to other Chinese students at Virginia Tech when she arrived two weeks ago, trying to establish her life on campus.

She went to social events with international students, got in touch with the campus center that works to help them adjust and appeared to be making friends as she settled into her accounting program, those who had met her said.

But one of the friendships may have led to her death: Police say she was decapitated with a kitchen knife while having coffee with a Chinese doctoral student in a campus cafe Wednesday night.

The killing stunned a campus that still has vivid memories of the mass slayings in April 2007, when a student gunman shot 32 people and then took his own life. The stabbing was the first slaying on campus since then.

"An act of violence like this brings back memories of April 16," university President Charles Steger said. "I have no doubt that many of us feel especially distraught."

It appeared Yang had met her accused attacker, 25-year-old Haiyang Zhu of Ningbo, China, only recently, said Kim Beisecker, the director of Cranwell International Center, which works with international students. Zhu, a doctoral student in agricultural and applied economics, had been assisting her in adjusting to life at Tech, something the 500 Chinese students often do for new members in their community, she said. They both attended functions for international students, she said.

"She was a very sweet young woman," she said. "He was known as a polite young man."

Though they apparently didn't know each other well, school records listed Zhu as one of her emergency contacts. Beisecker said that may have been because Yang knew few people on campus.

"As best we know, she had made a fair number of friends, but only in the last week," Beisecker said.

What led to the attack is also a mystery: About seven other people who were in the coffee shop told police that the two hadn't been arguing before the attack. Beisecker said there hadn't been previous signs of trouble between them.

Police received two 911 calls shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, and were on the scene in a little more than a minute to take Zhu into custody, Virginia Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum said.

Zhu was charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail. His attorney, Stephanie Cox, did not return a call seeking comment Thursday.

Classes were held as usual Thursday and the sprawling 2,600-acre campus appeared normal, with students skateboarding, talking on cell phones and chatting with friends.

Tasha Lockhart, a sophomore from Ocean City, Md., went to her biology class in the Graduate Life Center's auditorium Thursday afternoon. She said she felt "a little bit" wary. Her instructor told students to be aware of exits that were away from the main entrance in case of trouble, she said.

After the arrest, a campus alert system put in place after the mass shootings by Seung-Hui Cho in 2007 sent out messages to 30,000 subscribers by e-mail, text messages and telephone voice mails Wednesday night, University spokesman Larry Hinckler said.

Because a suspect was in custody, the messages were sent out as notifications rather than as emergency alerts, he said. He said 60,000 messages were sent in about a half hour.

The school offered counseling to students, faculty and staff, and officials contacted students who were injured in the mass shootings as well as the families of victims.

"It was a very retraumatizing kind of experience," said Debbie Day, director of the Office of Recovery and Support.
