WBPC 2017 Pricing

Like I said in another thread I do not think its that badly priced. By my math after food in disney, park tickets and excursions on our cruise I'm paying $9k for a 4 night on dream and 5 nights in Disney in Sept. I priced out the WBPC and its a little under $9k for a family verandah for a 14 day cruise. Just wish the timing was different or I would really consider booking it.

I was hoping to book a secret verandah room but didn't have any luck even though I logged in just a few minutes after they became available online today. I did still manage to pick up a 7A, but on deck 6 instead of deck 7 which is my preference. I'm hoping that after some of the holds come off of the rooms in the next few days more cabins will be able to choose from.

Any

I'm a gold castaway and I got a secret porthole. I'm guessing since there are only 6 of these rooms we gold and platinums booked with the intent to keep them, and I'll be shocked if one opens up.

Did anyone notice the itinerary for the WBPC in 2017 has 2 days in the Panama Canal? Day 7 & 8 show "Panama Canal".

After we left Cartagena, the boat stopped in the evening and refueled. It took a long time. They were pretty much level with our room, so the fuel workers were waving at us. It was a little creepy. We ended up drawing the curtains. Their lights were so bright and it went in to the wee hours of the morning. My guess would be that it has to do with the refueling situation.

That's funny. Our first Panama Canal cruise, the fuel barge was right outside our window. Not the best pictures, but:

I would be tempted to book just to go back to Cartegena and buy a case of the coffee wine. Seriously. I bought a bottle when we were in a little shop on our private tour last year. I didn't open it for months later because I saved it to share with my mom. O.M.G. BEST thing I've ever tasted!!!!! So I started hunting all over looking for this coffee wine but couldn't find it. Contacted the company that makes it and, no, it's not sold in the US. Devastating. So I've looked at flights to Cartegena.............

Yeah, I noticed that too - looks like 2 Panama Canal days followed by 3 days at sea vs 1 Panama Canal day followed by 2 days at sea. I have no idea what this could mean....could they just not be sure what day they plan to go through and so have both marked for now?

Any

I very much suspect it's a mistake and fully believe we will go through the locks on the day after Cartagena, as we did in 2015.

We are going and got a 5a for about $6400. We booked early the first day when it was listed at $5500so not sure why it was up already. The $6400 includes tax and OBB.

6?? Thought there were only 4?

We hired Dora from http://www.cartagenatour.com/ and she was AMAZING!!!! Definitely get off the ship in Columbia. I actually set up the tour via our FB meet up page and a group of people all went with us and it made the rate super reasonable. We were able to basically do two of the tours DCL offers in the amount of time it takes DCL to do one. I asked to skip the "new city-mall" and spend more time in the old city. It was AWESOME!!!!

How many can go on one tour and what was the pricing like? I don't see any of that posted on the website.

Yep I just got off the wbpc. The ports are weak but I went for 14 nights instead of 7 nights on the fantasy for about the same price.
The ports are what keeps me from doing this cruise. Ive been to Baja more times than I can count. I think the price for 2017 is high at least it is for 4 people.

Basically - a Panama Canal cruise is a Western Caribbean and a Mexican Riviera cruise - joined by the Canal. The ports on DCL really don't do much for me. However, I changed my mind about Disney's PC cruise after going on my first Disney Transatlantic - with an equally mediocre itinerary. I loved the sea days on the Transatlantic, so I'd be willing to book DCL's Panama Canal cruise...one of these years. :teeth:

I've been wanting to do this cruise. I've found that the prices have gone up considerably for those of us who cant use the MTO rate.

For 2A 2K opening day 2015 would have been around $5,200
Same cruise for 2017 I think it was over $6,000 on opening day and if you were to book today would be $7,078.

Would really love a 1 bedroom concierge for such a long cruise and that price has gone up A LOT over the last few years. For 4 people in 2015 I recall it being around $14,000ish now its $21,000+
