How do you leave Thank you’s for the CM’s out and around Disney (in addition to meal/house keeping tips).
I am from NYC and was going to bring some postcards of the city and have my daughter and I write notes for them during our stay.
Is there a better way? I heard that you can also leave a comment with guest relations?

Best way is to let their supervisor know they did something really nice. Go to guest relations and get a card to make your comments.

Definitely send written compliments to a supervisor. The hardest part of this is remembering to do it. Some sort of on-purpose system works best. My kids were trying to "make magic"for the cast members and carried index cards that they asked CM to autograph. Then a parent wrote what and where next to the name, and we made a point of going to guest services as part of our "good bye WDW routine, to fill out the forms.
The plus to something like this was how thrilled most CMs...ok, all of the CM's...in ordinary jobs, were, to be 'asked' like a celebrity. The con was that index cards got mangled easily, and one at least that we really wanted to reward, was unreadable due to being in a ride soaked pocket!

Great idea. I'm sure supervisors are always getting negative responses. What a nice gesture to appreciate a CM:)

I made up thank you cards the size of business cards. We hand them out to CMs that have made our trips extra special.

One CM hugged my husband and started to cry. :goodvibes

Written compliments to a manager really do make a difference. Cm's are recognized and rewarded for positive feedback.

I have gotten a thank you for notifing Disney of a CM who went above and beyond. They told me it would be noted.

They do notice. And I like to tell the positive and the negative with a way to improve

A verbal thank you to the person and then a written communication to a supervisor is the best. Handing the CMs pictures of cards means that they will have to hang on to them somehow or if they can't trash them. The note to the manager is very valuable though.

Agreed. They're working, which means that they can't go put the card somewhere, they can't just hold onto it, and putting it in a pocket may be impractical or impossible.

We made little business cards that said "thank you for making my birthday trip so magical" and gave them to CMs who were extra special during our trip. I also made sure to text myself the CM's location, name and hometown, so I'd have the date/time (stamp from text). I always try to send an email to guest relations after our stay with the most magical moments and thank yous for the special CMs we've encountered. We've been treated so kindly and experienced so much intangible pixie dust, I just like to take the time to say thank you on the record. If it is at the resort, I also go to the front desk and ask to fill out a guest card to say thank you, which as I understand it, goes in their record as well.

Guest relations has ALWAYS emailed me back a personal email and let me know that my positive comments will be relayed to the CMs. I've never had a negative comment to email about, so I'm not sure if it would be handled the same way (hope to never have to find out)!!
