Wanted to know what ways you already use to organize your stickers, papers, eyelets, wires, stamps, etc.?

I am in the process of setting up a "cropping station" in my home. This is going to be my area where I have all my supplies and nothing else goes there. Help!! I'm not the best organized person, so anything ideas you give me will only make it better!!!

Thanks
Michelle

I bought a cabinet from IKEA which has 6 cubes with doors on them. Everything goes in there and the doors can be closed, so I can hide it all.....

Of course, 90% of the time it is all over my table and not remotely tidy - but it's a great theory

Have you seen the wire storage cubes from target? You can make shelving with them to store your paper - It works pretty well and it's nicer than having your paper hidden away in a filing cabinet.

I also really like the PSB for all my stickers etc - although I do find it scary to see just how many stickers I own.

I'm not really the right person to advise though, my scrapping area is not a tidy place.

ok, what is a PSB?

I have been using shoe size clear boxes to keep my stuff in (by type ie. punchies, stickers...) but certain items are overflowing. I also have paper holders for card stock and patterned paper in both 12 x 12 and 8.5 x 11.

Always looking for a better way to organize my mess.

I bought a cabinet at the beauty salon supply store, like the ones hairdressers keep nearby to hold rollers, combs, etc. It's an upright, about 4 ft fall, with 5 pull-out drawers, some of which have dividers. It's on rollers so I can move it anyplace, and has a sliding panel that comes over the front so I can load it in the car and take it to crops without having the stuff in the drawers fall out. I work directly out of the drawers, and immediately put my supplies back when I'm through using them. It doesn't work for paper, though, and I have something different for that.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm finding out from the postings that I'm not the only one that is not a completely organized scrapper! Maybe that's better for the creative process!!! Ha!

Bev, I'm going to head to Target and look at the bins. Anyone find folders to store your 12X12 paper in that are safe for the acid free paper? (OK, besides the Making Memory folders that are kind of pricey). I keep acid testing the folders that I have around my home and I've come up with nothing.

Thanks again to all of you for your advice!
Michelle

You can find lots of photos of others scraprooms/scrapareas at

I did a search for "scraproom" but try other wording and I am sure you will come up with even more pics.

One thing I have noticed in all these rooms is very few of them go vertical with their storage. I use vertical storage as much as possibe since I have a small house. I absolutely love my simple 6' bookcase next to my table where I keep magazines, stacking paper trays, small drawered storage boxes, photo boxes, albums, etc. I have also just added a rolling two tiered hanging file cart from Staples.

As far as the archival safety of the hanging file folders, I really hadn't given it much thought. I guess I hope the paper won't be in the files for too long before I use it and transfer it into a more archival safe environment. But I have been using hanging file folders for several years now and none of my paper has turned yellow or faded in any way.

pas2, thanks for the website. I'm going to head over there now and check it out. Seeing how other scrappers keep their areas organized will help get the creative juices flowing.

Thanks
Michelle

A PSB is a Paper and Sticker Binder from Crop in Style. I love it because it's portable and it has all my stickers, stencils and toppers all in one place. Plus my kids love to look through the pages, they think the stickers are so fun. The plastic pages keep them protected from their grimy hands! ;)

I got mine at Michael's using a 50% off coupon and it made it really affordable. My LSS sells the refill pages by the page so I can customize it to my needs.

I think my new hobby has become organizing my scrapbooking supplies!:D

Thanks Figment,

I might just have to get one og those albums to store my stickers and die cuts. I have been emassing them like crazy since I haven't had time to scrap lately, but have more supplies than most stores at this point. oh well, i will get back to it really soon now that most of the wedding stuff is planned.

Organization for me is tough too! I would love to get a crop station but that is long down the road! I did buy the xxlarge crop in style tote bag and love it! I also bought their dticker binder! Well worth the money! I was able to combine my sticker file, die cut file and letter into one easy to flip binder!
Good luck!

Thank you for all your input. I love this site! I get all my scrapbooking questions answered and every Disney ? I can think of answered.

I have the PSB Crop in Style and love this. I also use the 12 x 12 page organizers to plan a page that I'm going to do at a crop. I put the paper, stickers, diecuts, etc. all together so I don't have to go through everything if I already know. OK, so that's IF I already have it planned out...not very often!! Ha!

Thanks again!

It took me awhile but I have a relatively nice system now. I have the plastic three drawer cabinet. Top two drawers hold, chalks, cutting systems, rulers, stamps etc. Bottom drawer is a file drawer so I bought hanging files and labeled them with all the events I scrap, Halloween, Christmas, School, vacation, camping etc. Inside them I put all the goodies I buy for the pages. Not paper though....that I keep in a 12x12 pizza box....dont laugh they are very very sturdy and keep the edges from being ripped or damaged. I love it. Then I keep my 8x10 paper in the little shelf unit I bought that sits on the desk. Sort of the drawer style, you know how they are four little flat units that sit on top of one and another. My scissors are in are carosel on the table. I keep all pix in a shoe box labeled with dates. Markers are in my CIS folder that also holds my power layouts for taking to crops. That way I can grab the book, the folder and a few do dads, shove them in my carrier and off I go.

hope this helps.

Cindy
