Ways to Identify Posts I've Read?

I've looked to see if I can figure this out on my own, but so far no luck. Once I visit a post, is there a way that I can identify this post in the future? I post regularly on a cruise board and after first reading a post, the link changes colors.

I am just starting to lurk on the DIS boards again after a long absence...we are contemplating a trip to WDW next summer and I need to get current on all the latest happenings! I've been reading some of the trip reports, but find it frustrating to click on a link and start reading and then realize I just read the report a few days earlier.

I know how to subscribe to the threads, but I just want a quick way of identifying posts that I've already seen. I know the threads with new posts show up in bold print, but I don't always want to read all of the replies...just the new reports.

I think I know what you are referring to, but this still doesn't show if I've looked at the post before...or perhaps I don't understand. :confused3

Do you mean the little "box" that appears next to the bold faced thread titles? This just takes me to new posts since I was logged on the last time...it does not show if I've viewed the original post before.

On the cruise board, all thread titles appear in blue until I click on them...then they change to red and stay that way. When I log on the next time the thread is still shown in red so that I know I've looked at it. "If" there are new posts to that thread, then the title will be in bold face type with the "view new posts" box on the left.

Oh, I see what you're saying. You're not talking about cruisecritic, are you? I believe it's the same type board as this one. I don't know a way to do what you want, sorry.

Bye the way Welcome to the DIS. :Pinkbounc

Yes...I am talking about Cruisecritic. I figured since the board setup looked the same there must be some way to get the links to "change color"...but darned if I can figure it out!!

After 3 cruises, we are ready to head back to Disney. I used to pride myself on knowing EVERYTHING about the WDW, but we haven't been since 2000 and I feel like a complete newbie!
