Hi Wayne,

Just about to book when i noticed another thread thanking you for their stay on your recommendation of the Marriot Courtyard LBV on Park Palmway - BUT is there 2 in LBV? because the one i was looking at was on Vineland Ave as part of the Marriott village. Could you tell me which one you have stayed at please?

Thanks Karen

Wayne last stayed at the CBM on Palm Parkway - he recommended it to us and we stayed there in October.

It's a nice enough place, two pools (we used the smaller one which was near our room - a 1 bedroom suite). The breakfast for quite nice in the restaurant one morning.

The hotel is in an excellent location in our favourite area - LBV.

The rooms were ok, but TBH we had been spoilt beforehand by staying at the Marriott Residence Inn - we had a King Suite and it was HUGE!

CBM - both the ones in LBV - get good reviews on Trip Advisor.

We prefer staying at the one on Palm Parkway purely for access from the hotel.

The other is, like you say, in the Marriott Village on Vineland Ave. Not been in but we stayed at Fairfield inn at Easter which is within the same complex, I believe it is very similar (rating not quite as good on Tripadvisor)to the other but our problem at Easter was the traffic getting out of the Marriott village, not too bad if you want to go up Vineland Ave to the Premium outlets or IDrive but to get to Disney, LBV, SR535, LBV or I4 it was upto 20 mins of queue. A couple of times I turned left onto SR535 then u-turned or once went up Vineland Ave and right round the block, 15 mins but could not face sitting in the line. One of the problems is people driving down the left lane then pushing in at end.

Thanks both - only just spotted it - The Marriott Village is the only one that comes up with virgin, so am i best to book flight and hotel seperate then?

Sorry just read Annie's post, what kind of rate do you have?
We stay there basically for the value, we want a good clean room with free internet in a good location, CBM's (or Fairfield Inn) fit the bill for about £25/night. If we spent more time in the hotel then we might look for somewhere a little more luxurious but just to sleep they are perfect for us.

Is it a busy time you are going? it might be just the School hols that it gets so busy.
Saying that, not 30 mins ago I was looking at next Xmas and considering back at Fairfield Inn again, the traffic is just something you deal with.

It looks good, and like u say, we too only really want somewhere to sleep at the end of the day. Location sounds great, which matters, and we always eat out. Would like a reasonable pool area i spose on the odd day when r 6 yr old just cant cope with the parks anymore and we need a lazy day!! Apart from that and a clean room, thats all we want. The dates we're looking for tho, are 20/12/08 to 03/01/09 - peak i know!!!

As a matter of interest Wayne - what are the Sheraton chain of hotels called now, stayed at the Sheraton Lakeside Years ago..

Karen

It probably won't be warm enough to do much sitting by pools, but you never know with weather there at Xmas, we have had it mid 80's and we have had to de-ice car every morning so who knows next year.
Sheraton are still going strong, they have plenty of hotels there but not the Lakeside, they sold it off to LaQuinta then it was bought by someone else and now Best Western, see below we have stayed there under every name.
I believe BW dont actually own property its just a franchise not 100% sure.

Will you be flying back to Manchester on the 3rd?
It looks like we are, was going to book now but I have to be up at 3:30am, so hope price is same tomorrow. It would be Flying Xmas day until 3rd Jan, maybe Fairfield Inn.

Yes, Flying back on the 3rd - want to book myself this weekend too.

Let me know who your booking your flights and accom with please?

Thanks Karen

Karen - if you're looking at Sheraton there's the Sheraton Safari literally just down the road from this Courtyard on Palm Parkway. We've stayed there a couple of times and it's a good place; our friends are staying there for a week next August when we all go over because they couldn't get the CBM Palm Parkway for the dates they wanted (their friend has given them the use of a week timeshare in this is one of the hotels).

We stayed in a one-bedroomed suite in the CBM - the bedroom had an ensuite bathroom; the lounge had a bed-sofa which DD used. It had a small kitchenette which suited us, although no implements or plates/cups etc, but you can pick up something cheap enough if you needed to. The suites are on an exterior corridor (tbh I prefer interior corridors, but these were ok).

Like I say, the location was superb with everything you need within a few minutes walking distance.

I don't know what we paid per night because I used Air Miles. I always find Hotelopia and Travel Republic best for prices, but just shop around.

Happy planning:cool1:

Hiya
Just to say another thumbs up for the Marriott on Palm Parkway, we stayed there in Jan and it is in the perfect place, a 15 min stroll to DTD, and about a ten min drive to Seaworld. Also there are a good no. of places to eat within a couple of minutes walking, would definatly stay there again.
