Has anyone ever bought anything online from Wayfair? Was it a good experience?

We're going to get a king size bed and I saw a bed frame/headboard that we both really like on Wayfair. I have no idea what the delivery or customer service is like from Wayfair so any input would be appreciated!

Didn't have a great experience. Ordered a loft bed, and the delivery date kept being put off (weeks later). One problem was the free delivery meant that the truck would pull up to my house, but we had to get the bed off of the truck. I ordered it a month before the kids were going back to school, knowing I could get ds15 and his friends to get it off the truck, but it never came.

After about 6 weeks, with me calling and emailing, they finally admitted that they lost it. I did get a refund, but it was such a PITA, especially since I wanted to get ds15's room done before school started up.

I have ordered many things from Wayfair and have had every good service. Most recently we ordered a bathroom vanity which when delivered they brought it right into the house. They often ask for feedback on products I have ordered and I am very happy with their service. I receive their emails and often find great deals there.

I have ordered quite a few things from them and had a good experience :thumbsup2. I have not ordered a large piece of furniture, but my brother ordered a leather chair that arrived with a mar or something and they told him to just keep it and they sent another one.

Interesting! We had a similar experience with Target.com. It was even on loft beds!! I had ordered two and kept getting emails pushing out our shipping date and I had to call several times. I think they sold the beds when they didn't really have them. The same beds were carried by many other stores but all showed "out of stock". Anyway, it was a big pain.

I needed a costume for my daughters school play. Found exactly what I needed on Wayfair.com However, they was no sizing information. I emailed them, and they sent me the same link that I had already found. That went back and forth for a while. I called them, no one could tell me what size it was or what was available.

They were ok, we bought an electric scooter from them. Have you looked at Overstock? We bought all of our bed frames from them. Their prices are ok but free or flat rate shipping helped a lot. I have also bought memory foam mattresses from ebay. They come rolled up vacuum packed in a bag. Very cool when you cut open the bag they nearly jump up in the air as the are expanding so fast... If you do the ebay route for the memory mattress pay attention to the rating system...it is different then what you see in the stores... The stores use a weight per area calculation but ebay uses a pseudo comfort rating...

I've never ordered from them, but they are one of my customers and are a great company to work with.

Like most Internet retailers, they don't stock their products. Everything is drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. Which is why some people have amazing experiences and others have horrible experiences.

This is how it works... you place your order online today with Wayfair, that order automatically emails directly to the supplier. If the supplier has the item in stock, they'll ship it to you. If not, you'll get a back-order notice. Wayfair works pretty hard to make sure that everything they show on their website is always in stock. But, sometimes suppliers lie to them or put them off and you end up getting bad service.

Sometimes you'll place a big order - several different items from different manufacturers. Those orders might all come from different places and arrive in different boxes on different days.

If you are ordering really large items, they will usually be shipped on an LTL truck instead of UPS/FedEx. In that case, unless you pay extra for "white glove" delivery, expect to do some heavy lifting yourself. Those truck drivers only do what they are paid to do... nothing extra.

I didn't answer your question, but I hope I gave you some insight into why reviews of companies like Wayfair are difficult to decipher. If you have other questions, I'll be happy to try to answer them.

I work for a top American drop-ship supplier, but we don't make beds... sorry.

My sister ordered some stadium seats from Wayfair for Christmas gifts and everything went fine. My best friend's niece works for their marketing dept and apparently their plan is to mostly use social media to expand their business. My best friend said that if she wants anything from there, she sends a link to her niece, who sends her back a special friends-and-family link to buy the item at her discount.

As above stated it is all drop shipped some things come fast some slow few never. Most important with large items it is curbside delivery so if you can not take it in your house yourself do not order from them. They will however use a local trucking company so you may be able to pay $$ extra to bring it in or give the driver 20.00 to bring it in your house but you will be setting it up and this is by far a maybe. I have had drivers leave the pallet as well as if it comes on one it is yours they do not want it as they will have to pay to dispose of it.
In other words if you want OK delivery/service buy from your local store and pay the 100.00 delivery fee.

I recently bought an end table from Wayfair. The delivery came from a company called Prestige. I was home when it came and all went well. The guy even sat the box inside the door for me. It was heavy

I've previously purchased some things from them with no problems, but then I was in the middle of a "situation" with them the last few days. ;)

Back on 2/21 I ordered two Queen comforter sets for our guestroom, and on 2/28 I only received one set via UPS. So I emailed Wayfair customer service right away and told them I was missing one set.

They emailed me back and said that they would check with their warehouse and IF they found that they didn't send the second one (like I was lying about it) "then they would gladly order a replacement set, at no cost to you"

Gee, that was kind of them to offer to send it "at no cost to me", seeing as how I had ALREADY PAID FOR BOTH SETS when I placed the order. You can tell I'm still a little hot about it LOL.

I took pictures of the box and packing and emailed those to them (the shipping box showed right on it Queen Sage Comforter Set QTY 1).

Today they answered that they have shipped the second set. So I guess all's well that ends well - and I will probably order from them again in the future if there's a good deal. BUT next time if I'm ordering more than "Qty 1" of anything from them I think I'll split the order into 2 separate orders. :thumbsup2

Also, ITA with jensen's post above that said about them drop shipping orders, because I ordered from Wayfair, but it was actually shipped from CSN Stores in NJ, packed in a Kohls box!

I ordered a tv console thing that stores the video players and cable box, etc, and 3 bar stools. Both orders came really fast, well-packed, no problems.

Sometimes if you are browsing their site, and then you go to something else, a little popup will show on your screen for 10% off at Wayfair. I used this both times.

I have ordered from them a few times. One time in particular was my son's changing table. It arrived damaged. I called them and they said they would send another one and that the manufacture would be contacting me to pick up the damaged one. However, it's been 3 years and no one has ever contacted me to pick up the damage one.

The new one arrived undamaged and fairly quickly. And so I am very pleased with their customer service and merchandise.

Thank you all for such great input! As a few of you noted, I'm concerned about the delivery. I don't know if I'll be able to accept delivery unless DH is home and can get our neighbors to help off-load the truck. Typically everyone is only home on weekends so that might be a deal breaker. No possible way I can move a king size bed frame off a truck myself :lmao: I'll have to see if the "white glove" service is available for this item.

I really appreciate all the feedback! Oh, and I have ordered from Overstock in the past (two small storage ottomans) and had great experience with them, but they don't have any beds we both like.

We ordered a king size bed from them last year. It was by far the best price we could find for what we wanted. When it was delivered I wasn't even home and the boxes were left on my porch. They were insanely heavy so I couldn't move them but my son and husband were able to with no problem once they got home.

There must have been a mix up somewhere because there were no foot rails so I called customer service and women tried to tell me that the bed I ordered didn't come with the foot rails only the frame. That was clearly not correct and I showed her the exact place on the web site that the stated the foot boards were included. With that fact clearly stated she spent some time trying to look into what may have happened. At the end of the long conversation she promised to look into everything and e-mail us with an update and if necessary would simply order us another set of foot rails. She was true to her word and e-mailed us two days later saying there must have been an error in the processing but she would order another set of rails and would e-mail again when they would be delivered.

The very next day the rails showed up.....but they were not the one's the Customer Service Person re-ordered they were the original ones that must have gotten separated from the original order. I e-mailed the company back to let them know the additional rails were not needed.

So overall I was quite pleased with the company. The bed however was crazy impossible to put together. The directions were very poor and my husband who is quite adept at such things was not a happy camper.

I would order from them again without question.
