Anyone know if this is still offered? It was a tour around the AKV & AKL and the savannahs followed by dinner in Jiko.

Thanks,

It is still available and It is awesome. I tend to be sort of a cheap person when it comes to tours, fancy meals etc but this was well worth it. In fact DW and I plan on staying at AKL again in Early Nov just to do this again.

Thanks, is the only way to get info and pricing about it to call? I can't find it on the Disney Site?

tia

You have to call.
The Wanyama Safari and Dinner can only be booked by the itinerary planning office or Concierge at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Call (407) 938-4755 for reservations. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

WoooHoooo!!!:cool1::cool1:

Just booked it for the trip in March with my adult DD!!!! Cannot wait! Thank you for your help ;).

I've actually done this tour with my cousins in the past and I look forward to going again with my daughter :yay:

I've been fortunate enough to have taken the Wanyami tour and dinner twice. Both times, there was just an answering machine when I called, but they were VERY prompt about calling back. Just wanted to let you know, in case you're like me when you leave a message-wondering when or even if they'll call back.

deecee, just curious what they are charging now for this, and is this the 3hour tour that includes dinner?

It's really limited to the number that can attend, I heard. Is it difficult to schedule with this limitation?

We did this safari in October and it was fabulous. We booked it when our 180 day window opened. Didn't want to take any chance of missing out.

You can actually book before the 180 day window. Last year we called the concierge as soon as we booked AKL which was at 7 months out and they said that the booking window was not open but they would take my personal and payment info and book it for us as soon as the window opened. Sure enough the morning of the booking window opening I got an email confirmation from them. So basically if you have confirmed AKL reservations call them and they will get you in if you are worried about missing out.

That was probably a concierge service, not one available to non-concierge guests.

No, I was staying in a studio on DVC points.

Yes, and both times I was staying in a DVC value studio. I thought it was quite unusual that I was able to book it thru the cincierge service, but that's how they identified themselves.

It was $190/pp when DH and I did it in October. That included tax & gratuity. I haven't heard of any price increase since then.

I believe the Wanyama is limited to 12.

You're welcome and I hope you get the chance to do it! :thumbsup2

Here's the room you gather in:

I'm leaving all the savannah pictures out. You will see lots of animals from Okapi to Giraffe to Zebra to Tommies to Waterbuck to Red River Hogs....... (and much more! ;))

The evening concludes with a wonderful dinner for the group (9 of us) at Jiko: :goodvibes
