Seems like i read here awhile ago, about a way to soften cookies that were already baked. I made them yesterday afternoon but they were left out all night and now are a little too crunchy. Is there a way to soften them up again? TIA! :goodvibes

I would just pop one in the microwave for about 10 seconds. See if that helps!

I've never tried it with cookies, but I have put a piece of bread in the bag with brown sugar to rehydrate it. It might work with cookies.

Store them in an airtight container with a slice of bread.

My mom used to put an apple slice in the container to soften them up - no idea why - but it worked!

Put them in an airtight container (a ziplock will work) with a very fresh slice of white bread. One per container, depending upon size. Seal it and the moisture from the bread will be absorbed by the cookies (without imparting an additional flavor).

Keep the white bread slice fresh (replace it) to keep the cookies soft.

But I like the dunk them in milk idea best! :teeth:

I put them in an airtight container with a small dish of water. Just be careful when you open it so the water doesn't spill out - you want soft cookies, not soggie ones.

Thanks all! I like the dunking idea too :)

I don't have white bread so will wheat work? I guess its worth a try! And i'll do the apple, too.

The wheat should work. The key is for it to be soft, and not have any hard crust, ect.

Apple sometimes imparts flavor.
