Way to get CC rewards bonus AND Target 5% discount?

This is my first time dabbling in using a CC to pay for vacation expenses, which I'm doing to get the rewards & discounts. Basically, I have a Redcard for $300 and a bank CC that gives me $500 bonus rewards after spending $4,000. Since our tickets cost $3,000 (10-day MYW for 8 people) and our dining easily cost at least $1,000, this is a great way for us to get a free $500 for money that we are spending anyway. However, I still want my 5% from buying Disney GC for Target while using my Redcard if I can get it. Now, the tickets come up basically the same whether I buy them from a discounted ticket center or pay full price from Disney using 5% off GCs, so I'm just going to buy those directly from the discount ticket center using my CC. For the remaining $1,000, is there a way to get my CC bonus AND the 5% Redcard discount? Does it still work to use two forms of payment on the Target website, one being a Redcard, and get the discount for the whole amount? Any other ways I'm not thinking of here? Also, travel expenses get double regular rewards, but do Disney tickets count as travel? I've read they do at UCT, but I'd be getting these from another ticket place.

You cannot "double dip". Your CC will give you your bonus only on the amount which you actually pay with the CC. If you use the CC to pay for a purchase on Target .com, you don't get the 5% REDCard discount.
Any other ways I'm not thinking of here?
Use your CC to purchase a discounted Target GC on a website like Raise, Cardpool, or Cardcash. Get your CC rewards that way. Then use the Target GC on the Target .com website to purchase your Disney GCs. Set your Target CC as your default form of payment but pay using the GCs. The 5% will come off the price of the Disney GCs if you do it in the right order.

It all depends on how "another ticket place" is coded in your CC's database. If they are coded as travel, then you will get your double rewards.

This is what I meant when I asked about using two forms of payment on Target .com (not getting CC rewards for money not spend on the actual CC), only I thought it would work with Redcard + CC, instead of Redcard + GC. So it has to be Redcard + GC to get a discount on the entire purchase?

I understand about being nervous. I just started trying all this out myself. It was super easy though. I ordered a $150 e-GC to Shula's, then went on Shula's website to order a physical GC since I didn't think the e-GC would work in the restaurant. Worked like a charm, so I went back to Raise and ordered a $100 one and did the same thing. Since that worked so well, I went back to Raise and purchased 2 $50 Landry's GCs to use at Yak and Yeti's. If I need to purchase any more Disney GCs, I will definitely go to Raise first to buy the Target GCs and then use those to buy the Disney GCs. Oh and by the way, I went to Raise through my Swagbucks portal to earn more money that way. Everything so far has been easy. And seeing reviews that say that Raise has a 100% guarantee gives me even more peace of mind.

Raise.com is great! Lots of us here use them pretty regularly.

If you don't want to dabble with Raise (not because it's unsafe but because you are nervous), you can just buy target gift cards with your real credit card at target (getting the CC Rewards) and then use them ONLINE with your red card as default payment and then entering the gift card, to stack the 5% red card discount. You can only order 3 Disney gift cards in a single transaction at target.com, so plan accordingly For this to take a few weeks to get a lot of cards!

Doing it that way, I look at it by saying that I have saved enough for everyone to have a free Mickey Bar or two!

At Christmas when they had the 10% off gift cards was a good day! $300 gift card for $270 with credit card rewards of $5 ($35. Saved). Then turning that into Disney gift cards online with red card --> another $15 saved as it costs $285 for $300 worth, for a total of $50 saved for $300 gift card purchase. Without the Christmastime 10 % bonus, you need to use a place like Raise or EBay churning to achieve the same results.

Theres ways to do it, but its not really worth the trouble.
