I have a really bizarre question for someone who is a dermatologist. Do you treat hair? I have had a problem with sections of my hair being "tacky" when wet; it then dries to looks like a bad perm...kind of frizzy and dry. I have had these ends cut only to have it return on the freshly cut hair. My DD thinks I should see a dermatologist, but I just don't know if this is their/your area. I'd be happy to PM more details if anyone has a comment. I am desperate!!!

My dd is going to see a derm for her scalp :headache: I'm not sure if they treat hair. She goes on wed if you dont get an answer before then I can ask them for you I guess..

I'd think you'd need to go to a salon? I don't think dermatologists treat hair. I know any problem I have with my hair, my stylist can usually figure out and treat. You'd need to go to a high end salon though probably... Aveda salons teach their students and they are really knowledgeable about all sorts of hair issues....

Do you color your hair? Once I colored my hair too many times during one time frame and the texture became something like you are describing. My hair was just severely damaged, so I got a short cut and then let it grow back out.

Have you checked with your GP about vitamin deficiencies? If your body isn't getting or absorbing enough of certain nutrients your hair can get very brittle or fall out.
