Just curious if anyone else is struggling with poor Hitchbot's demise? I live fairly close to where she was "born" and have been an avid follower since she was just a chip in her family's eye. Not wanting to bring up the discussions that are flying around social media connected to "Americans are violent people", just wondering if I'm the only blubbering fool over a cute robot in yellow wellies??

It's an interesting experiment, and I don't fully understand the appeal for Hitchbot myself, but from what I've seen elsewhere (yes, even Gawker) there is some love for... it?

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think you're alone.

I hadn't actually heard about Hitchbot until a couple of weeks ago when I heard them talk about him on a podcast my husband listens too. Then a week later the poor thing is destroyed I watched an interview with the creators, it's not even so much about the money to put him back together but the hours it would take. Bummer.
