Way OT: Dust Mite Allergy Blankets

Yesterday my son was diagnosed with a Dust Mite Allergy. I need to encase his mattress, box spring and pillows in the dust mite proof cases. I found the website that the allergist gave me has comparable prices to Amazon, so I'm using the Dr. approved website for those.

My question is about blankets:

If you have a Dust Mite allergy and maintain a low allergen bedroom, what bedding do you use? Cotton blankets (or other types) that get frequently washed? A comforter with cover that gets frequently washed? A comforter made from the allergen resistant material?

Thank you in advance. I have no idea about these things, and I don't want to get useless things.

We just used her regular bedding but it got washed in hot water once a week.

Regular sheets and a down alternative comforter that can wash in hot water. Don't forget about the stuffed animals if he has them.

My son's allergy was pretty bad, so we did allergy shots and he is so much better now. Good luck.
