Can you all believe that we only have
TenPin_PinSign.jpg
Days to go!!!

Okay I'm still here!! Thanks Heidi for caring.
I have been really busy. I'm still taking my sommelier classes and have lots of homework, if drinking lots of wine is considered homework. It is to me. Noah had a birthday (now 6) this weekend and my Dad has been visiting for the last 5 days. He left this AM,..boo hoo,...I am a Daddy's girl. I feel like I need rehab from all the partying we did. But rehab is for quitters, and I'm no quitter!!
ANYWAY,....with all that has been going on, the cruise is really all I think about. We are leaving Thurs the 29th and are staying with some good friends in Cocoa Beach for 2 nights. I think I will have them drop us off at the DCL terminal around 10:30 AM. Unless you think I should go earlier??
I have tons of shopping, organizing and packing to do. But I work well under pressure.
I will post again soon,......Allison:wave2: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I am swamped at work right now, trying to get my desk cleared off before I leave so the wonderful people I work with have plenty of places to stack the work while I am gone...... ugh!! Plus we have had 9 members of dh's extended family in from out of state, so that has been taking a lot of time as well. I am trying to keep up with reading the posts as much as I can, but man, you guys are chatty!!!! ::yes::

I am planning to get packed this week, so I can know if I still need to do any last minute shopping this weekend

I will try and check in a couple more times, but if not, we will see you at the Goofy Pool!!!!

Linda

We'd be happy to join you at 3:30 at the Goofy pool! Just look for this little girl:

alyssa2.jpg

and I'll be the one she's attempting to drag around the entire ship in 20 mins or less ;)

She's been asking at least 10 times a day "How long until our Disney cruise?"

FYI, I'm divorced and have primary custody of Alyssa. I kinda figured this would be a perfect vacation for the two of us. Never done anything like this, though we have been to St. John many times. I'd highly recommend going there if you've never been. Obviously options are limited given time constraints, but the north shore beaches are the best I've ever seen.

Jeff

wow it's been a bit busy on here. I have been slightly loaded down with work (trying to get all my junk done before we leave), so I haven't been able to post.

as we were laying outside with more than a bow tie but not much more

hmmm funny, i am getting my bow tie tan line ready. :earseek:

Jason -- great job on your Relay, Round of (insert beverage here) on MonkeyBoy!!! Staying awake for 31 hours... good practice for the cruise.

Speaking of MonkeyBoy... Damn nice pic... latest upgrade even better.

As the DW has mentioned it has been great weather here the past few days. Ahh... so many little soccer players out there. DS (Teddy) had his first lacrosse game and loved it. I think the helmet and pads makes him feel like a power ranger. Not to mention the stick he gets to hit other players with.

Well we have the most weed infested front yard so while it's nice and cool I guess I'll go help Ryan weed it.

I find gasoline kills weeds fast... grass goes too, but hey no more lawn to mow which leaves more time to drink that avatar.

Homemade Margaritas sound good
Of course they do. :rotfl:

(though not right now nursing a hangover)!
Of course you are. :duck:

Philly Jen... Old Bay and Shrimp... Crabcakes??? I thought we only did this in Maryland... great to see others are using our secret. Ever try dipping the shirmp in butter as well? While watching the Ravens?? How bout bring a few Philly CheeseSteaks on board.

And hey no worries about the foot... nothing a few shots of my friend Jack Daniels won't fix. :cool1:

See you all very very soon

Arrrr Matties.... We be boozin while we crusin!!! :boat:

BTW, monkeyboy, I'm a Web Developer. So I guess that adds to the geek quotient. Sounds like we could do some real IT damage ;)

Go Teddy! My husband was(way past tense) a college All American Lacrosse player-(attackman). He can't wait until our girls can play. They start the girls out around 8 yo here. Maryland is a huge LAX area, Philly is coming around. We are from central New York(Syracuse) which is a big lacrosse town too! Anyway, I am sure you aren't thinking about college for Teddy yet;) We live just about an hour from Princeton. Hannah has informed her grandfather(thank God) that he will be paying for her to go there to become a dr. She's 5 but hey, it doesn't hurt to have a dream!

Butter.......my favorite food group! We have made Hamburgers with Old Bay bread crumbs we love it so much. We also steam a lot of clams in beer and garlic. Then we cover them in hot sauce and lemons....I know we are screwy but it makes us feel like we are on vacation! It goes great with the margarita on the rocks food group!

We are Maryland wannabe's here in Philly. I will be in Timonium?? tomorrow for a meeting in the afternoon.
I am thinking it will be about an hour and 15 minutes from me. If its not.... I will be late:)

Anyway, gotta get to work and daydream about vacation some more...

Philly Jen works for me since there's 2 of us. MD Jen and Philly Jen. I will work on the Cheese Steak thing. I am not sure how all that grease will go with my formal wear in the same suitcase::MinnieMo

Hey all! I'm still here - been a busy weekend/beginning of the week... Didn't manage any packing but did find a Tropical dress - woohoo!! Plan on starting to pack this weekend..

Welcome Jeff - glad you found the board! I've got a DS5.. lots of 5-6 year olds on our ship!!

Well, just wanted ya'll to know I was thinking of you :p , but gotta get back to work (I know, can you believe I actually have to work????).

Have a good one and cya'll soon...

-Tracey
:wave2:

Hey Philly Jen ....
Timonium is where Joe's company is based and where we lived when we first got married. You will be just about 40 minutes from where we live now! Yep, an hour and 15 minutes sounds about right from Philly.

Around here they have lax leagues starting at age 5 and up for boys and girls. Madalyn can't wait to start playing but was upset when she found out that girls don't wear helmets. We told her that the boys clobber each other but the girls aren't allowed to do that and she said "But i want to clobber people!" And she sounds a lot like your dd ... she has already informed me that she is going to be a Mommy/Doctor/Rock Star when she grows up.

Hope everyone is doing well!!!
MD Jen

Welcome to all the new posters!! Can't wait to meet you on the ship! Justin (DS nearly 6) is really excited to meet the other cruisin' kids!!

Heidi I'm still here, I have been entertaining out of town guests (plying them with beer) and getting ready for Justin's party this weekend and MORE out-of towners for that event. We ordered a DCL cruise themed cake and I will post the pix. He wanted to have a b-day party for school friends before we go, and then DH's whole rowdy family decided they'd drive out too. Last year during the week before the cruise, we had Justin's party, Easter, and my gallbladder out. Aagh! I keep wondering if my appendix will give out around Monday next week!!:crazy2: The only thing keeping me going is knowing that the cruise and mulitple KONK COOLERS are within reach!! WOO HOO!!

YES,I finally made it and am officially on vacation from this moment on.No more work for me,except if there is no miracle and my apartment is clean and my suitcase is packed, when I wake up tomorrow morning.
I guess I can forget about that, but I have the whole day to get ready.

Welcome to all our new cruisers, glad you found us just in time.

I have one more question about our dismeet :is it at the Goofy pool on deck9,or on deck 10 above the pool?
Please be patient with me,overworked and totally confused.Help me out with this untill tomorrow,I will drop by and say good-bye to all us crazy folks.

Take care
conny

PS:I have no idea how I will make it through 9 days without you.:wave2: :wave2:

It has been crazy around here...we had two soccer games this past weekend, many tanning appoitnments to attend (priorities, priorites), Tom played golf all day Saturday and again yesterday, we had a surprise 39th birthday party to go to for a good friend, last night was Brownies, tonight is soccer practice, tomorrow is Daisys, the fun is never ending around here!!!!!!! And to top it all off, Tom left for Vegas this morning (in search of Heidi's bra) and won't be back until Friday night! He'll be back just in time for another crazy weekend of soccer, Brownie & Daisy field trips, a birthday party and a first communion!!! (Oh yeah, and more tanning appointments for me). When will I ever get a chance to pack???

I am seriously beginning to wonder if we will even be able to pay our bar tab on the cruise...I can't seem to keep myself out of the mall!!! I'm spending money like crazy! We'll be so broke that we'll have to drink the free water on the boat...but at least we'll look good!!! Don't forget to look for Lindsey, Sarah & Abby...they'll be hard to miss because they'll be dressed alike! Yes, it's true...I'm one of those mothers!!!

Okay, I have a confession to make...I am a beer drinker! I'm afraid that I'll be hanging out by myself because the rest of you are so into all of the frou frou drinks! I'll definitely be trying some of them, but my drink of preference is beer! Labatt Blue Light to be exact...and I can't even get that on the ship! The konk koolers that we've been making at home are yummy, but you can only drink so many of them because they are a little on the sweet side. I know that I definitely won't be hanging with Heidi at all because I can't even say the G word...you know...gin. I had a bad experience many many years ago (great bar in the town where I went to college had four dollar pitchers of mixed drinks on Thursday nights) and to this day the smell of gin makes me gag! I'll wave to you from the other side of the pool Heidi!

WE CAN'T WAIT! WE CAN'T WAIT! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!

We're leaving next Thursday after school and driving straight through...we made record time to Orlando in February (17 hours and 18 minutes to be exact) so Tom is pretty confident that we'll be in Cocoa Beach in roughly the same amount of time (give or take an hour)...we'll be meeting up with my parents and some good friends from here (they have a daughter Lindsey's age). We're all staying at the Ron Jon Resort on Friday night and will be at the terminal as early as they'll let us on Saturday morning.

WE CAN'T WAIT! WE CAN'T WAIT! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

Okay, I have a confession to make...I am a beer drinker!

Ahhhh... fellow beer drinkers unite!!!!! :grouphug:

While i drink just about anything, I will mostly be found drinking an ice cold beer. The problem I have is it is on the warm side on cruise ships, so you have to drink them very fast to make sure they are cold. Then again is this really a problem.

Geez you guys I thought I Had an addiction! LOL You all are putting me to shame (my posts are just longer) but it was SO fun to read it all this morning! Got the kids to school, Tanner to preschool so now I have 2 1/2 hours to myself. I'm eating some seriously spicy mexican food trying to burn yet another starting cold out of my system...and pushing Zicam up my nose like a Cocaine addict!

Ok so this will once again be long.....if you get bored easily or dont want to read..here is your chance to "back out!"

Reine--I saw that travel channel thing on the RV park and I thought why in the hell would people with that kind of money want to stay at an RV Park??? I mean if I had that kind of dough I'd be at the ritz carlton getting to and fro in a limo...to each his own I guess! We leave in 7 days...I can't believe it! I never thought we'd see double digits now we are in single digits! YIPPEEE

Jen (HAKM who is now Jen and the other Jen is JenL) I'm jealous that you have so much packing done. I looked in my closet yesterday and almost had a full blown panic attack...and that is just a small portion of stuff....since my next 7 days will probably just slowly saunter by I figure I have time right?? LOL Glad to see we have yet another board addicted cruiser! LOL about not realizing you have more to pack than you thought..that is EXACTLY what is going to happen to me. I keep putting it off thinking it's too early but I know next Tuesday night I am going to be resembling a chicken with no head! I wish you luck on your driving! We are flying and I dread 4 hours...so I feel for those of you in a car longer than that (but then my family all hate to drive longer than 2 hours) Wow cool your hubby finished off your project..that is what would happen around here too! Ryan would have to bail me out but then I hated school so I just stopped going! LOL CONGRATS to Hannah and the Tooth Fairy!

JennL-Just another crappy day here...but it's heading your way so enjoy it! LOL High of 50 here today with 2-4 inches of snow forcasted for my front lawn on Wed night and Thur morning...now I KNOW why I can't wait to get out of here!!! I did another tan at another salon and I thought I was fried but it turns out I did just great! I'm actually sporting quite a line for me!! Hope you get time today!LOL about Joe...you'll learn to play boy sports when you get older especially before going on a trip! Hope the injury is feeling much better! Thankfully you still have a week!

Jason--The monkey scares me as well (and I live with it) Oh you mean the picture of the monkey..yeah that scares me as well! I don't know what kind of MONSTER I've let loose around here but I do apologize in advance!

Allison--Glad to hear all is well but sorry to hear you've been so busy with drinking wine! er homework I mean ;) Cool about the Birthday but sad that your dad had to go home! That is one reason why we'd never move until our parents died neither of us could stand our parents in our house for longer than 2-3 hours but sorry you miss him! Hey I REALLY LIKE YOU ......Ryan and I have said forever that AA is for Quitters! LOL I'm glad you are alive and in only a week and a few more short days and we will be looking for each other with smiles on our faces and drinks in our hands!!!

Linda--Glad you too are alive and well even if you do have many family members and a ton of work! Hopefully things will settle down before but if not at least you have a wonderful relaxing vacation to go to!!

Jeff--Your dd is darling!!! And us meeting at the pool will be a blast!!!! That's great that you have custody of your little girl and are such a great dad! That's all kids need..someone to be great with them! We've been to St. Thomas/St. John once and I loved it there...I can't wait to go back again!!!!

Joe--You crack me up!!! lOL about the bow tie tan line getting there....now THAT would make frighten me and young children!Cool about the soccer player and I was laughing when you mentioned the power ranger...Tanner thinks he is that and he doesn't even play soccer! ROFLMAO about the gasoline! When I was growing up one of the kids in our neighborhood was supposed to mow the lawn but thought that setting it on fire sounded better...bad decision! Think I'll stick to making Ryan do it and I'll drink the avatar! Glad the foot is feeling better....it's nice when buddies like Jack can help it feel better isn't it??

Tracey--Glad to see you checked in as well..at least all the "slackers" from the weekend are now checking in!!!! Sorry you actually have to work but way cool you found a tropical dress. I think I'm just going to wear a cheap plastic lei! LOL I'm going to pack this weekend too!!!

Amber (or should I say Ambah like Boston Rob on Survivor?) it's great to see you still around and still waiting for the Konk Koolers! Good idea plying beer to the out of towners...we find if we just tell them to leave it works too! LOL Oye on doing the Birthday party...seems we've had a few of those on here lately!! The cake sounds cool though...post a pic!!!!Ouch on the gallbladder thing! That couldn't be very fun although I assume it was easier to eat greasy food after right?? LOL Last year at this time I was still recovering from my hysterectomy so I don't think I could have traveled...kudos to you for being strong! Only 1 more week only 1 more week til we can meet up with Konk Koolers!!!

Conny--WOOOHOO You made it!! Who cares if the house is clean as long as you are packed and ready..the depression of coming home will be enough to deal with..if the house is a mess then it means doing less laundry just add it to the rest of the mess!! Actually I'm a fine one to talk..my house has to be spotless before we leave...it's something I am SO anal about! I make sure I get everything clean and put away and the dishes washed and put away..then everyone eats on plastic, paper and styrofoam. The goofy pool meet I say we meet on Deck 9 by whatever fast food thing is right there (I can't remember what is there) or the bar or something easily accessible to spot! Since we will have our mini meet the night before we can easily see each other and those who join us and then it will be easier to grab the rest!!! I'm jealous..I wish I was leaving tomorrow!! Oh well only 1 more week!

Julie--I must say you are a MUCH better wife than me! NO WAY would Ryan play golf on a weekend twice without suffering serious consequences or cost! LOL Just reading everything you did last weekend and the coming weekend made me exhausted!! I'm sorry Tom is gone but I sure do hope he finds my bra! LOL I miss that puppy!!!!I've been hitting the tanning salon as well...I figure 2 more times should do it! I know the feeling about the bar tab..not because I'm spending it at the mall but because I think we will be wasted pretty much the whole time! LOL I think it's cute you dress your girls the same!!If I had 2 girls I would but I guess thankfully I dont. I love my 1 but I don't think I could handle more than 1..the boys are SO much easier! LOL Hey being a beer drinker isn't bad at all! I had the same kind of experience with beer you did with Gin (well beer and tequila for me) but on deck I plan on drinking froo froo drinks most of the day and saving the gin for later at dinner, on the balcony, at the shows, on the way to the show, on the way back from the show, on the way to dinner, on the way back from dinner...you get the point. I'll drink mostly froo froo drinks when I'm around you ok?? LOL I promise I will try to not get you sick!! Ouch the drive time sounds painful! I thought 4 hours on a plane sounded bad but definitely that amount of time in a car would make me nutso! We may drive to Denver in August and I dread the 8-10 hours in the car each way and we have a built in DVD system with wireless headphones and I still dread the "are we there yet?" WE CANT WAIT EITHER!!! ONLY 1 more week basically!!! I can't wait to meet all of you guys!!!

Joe--Oh yeah when you buy beer on a cruise ship buy the bucket. They bring like 6 of them in a bucket of ice..seemed to help our tablemates on our last cruise without kids!!!!

Ok..well I'm off to finish cleaning up the house and finish my now freezing cold mexican food!!!

Happy Tuesday to All!!!
Heidi

I know I'm crusing the week after all of you but wanted to wish everyone a fabulous cruise. Please take care of Hydster and make sure she enjoys herself. She is allergic to Gin and Tonic so please try to keep that away from her as well. LOL - Mike

Hey, I'm all for beer over frou frou drinks! Beer is good food! Not that I get the opportunity to drink much these days. But on the upside, guess that means my bar tab won't be hefty!

I bought my daughter several new dresses to take on the cruise this past weekend, but, of course, she wanted to wear them right away. And since it's been so nice in the DC area the past few days, she's been outside getting all kinds of nice grass stains and dirt on them :crazy2:

Ah well, guess it's back to shopping this weekend.

Jeff

Tom had a celebrity citing (or is it sighting? or siting?) already...he has been in Vegas for less than an hour and already he's seen someone famous...she's not exactly a celebrity, but she's more famous than he is...he walked into the MGM to check in and there was Heidi from The Apprentice sitting in the lobby talking on her cell phone wearing one of her little ruffley mini skirts! She is going to be a "celebrity" in one of the booths at the trade show that he is attending...hopefully she won't be the most famous person that he sees though or he'll be disappointed...last year he got his picture taken with Carmen Electra at this same trade show...not the smartest cookie in the box, but easy on the eyes (but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't her brains that he was checking out anyway)! I told him to keep his eyes open for Jessica Simpson...she was at the MGM Sunday night filming the VH1 Divas Concert along with Patti LaBelle, Cyndi Lauper and Debbie Harry...don't you think that it would be more fun to see one of them than to see Heidi from The Apprentice???

AAWWW Mike so nice of you to wish us a good cruise! I won't be able to wish one back to you before you go so good cruising to you too. As for the gin allergy SHHHHHH you said that was just between us!:teeth:

Jeff--Well maybe on the cruise you can do a little bit more "beer tasting" if your dd likes the kids clubs!!! If not then yep your tab will be smaller than ours (it probably will be anyway LOL) How cute that you bought her some dresses! I love little girls in dresses. It's when they get older and more complicated that I find I don't enjoy dressing up my girl. And more shopping for more dresses....now see THAT is something I can handle! Maybe I'll go roll in the mud in my formal dress so I can get something new! Good idea Jeff and daughter!;)

Julie--LOL about Tom seeing Heidi from the Apprentice! I saw those 3 girls were on VH1 Divas the other night (why anyone would want to watch them is beyond me...I tivo'd it for the 30 second Tom Jones snippet! LOL) but Carmen Electra was on the Diva program as well. Some of the women from the "old days" looked SO bad! I mean I'm no hottie but geez Blondie??? She looked more like Dagwood than Blondie! LOLOLOL And what's the deal with Patti LaBelle's ****s??? Those are some HUGE KNOCKERS!!! I love Jessica Simpson to look at her but watching her sing is like watching someone with a tic up there (no offense to anyone with a handicap) but she moves her neck so weird!!! DARN I wish he could find my bra! LOL Tell him to LOOK HARDER since it's tiny it might be hard to spot!:earseek: I KNOW I'd rather see some of the other people than Heidi from the celebrity but maybe that's because I look at HEIDI all day??? ROFL!!

Ok off to down MORE cold medicine...I'm getting a nasty cold it seems..just what I need right now to feel like shi**!

Heidi

Great to see everyone is checking in! I too have been swamped with end-of-school stuff but always manage to get in my daily, er, hourly, dose of the Dis Boards!

Conny--

Travis and I are thinking of driving up to Disney this weekend (probably Saturday) and was wondering if you guys would like to get together and spend a day at one of the parks?
