We are coming in to town on a Saturday and staying at Fort Wilderness. We won't do the parks Saturday or Sunday, but will head to Magic Kingdom on Monday. Debating on where to eat Saturday or Sunday night. Any thoughts on taking the boat over to the Contemporary for Wave of American Flavors and watching the fireworks from there?

The Wave is awesome! Its one of my fave places to dine, and definitely a hidden gem. I had a steak...it was so tender and flavorful. I highly recommend it. I like the food much better at The Wave than Cali Grill. For fireworks, you can go to the 4th floor balcony at the Contemporary (open to all) and watch from there.

The Wave is great! You of course can't see fireworks from the restaurant but the Contemporary has various viewing spots.

Awesome! What time would you make reservations for dinner if you wanted to get to a viewing spot to watch fireworks at 8?

I would definitely recommend it! Or you can go to Ohanas for another firework viewing restaurant.

I have not eaten there, but I have read so many good reviews of the place that I am making a point to eat dinner there in my upcoming stay at the world.

We were surprised at how much we enjoyed the Wave. The menu is somewhat more limited than some other restaurants - but everyone in our party of 7 enjoyed. We only went there initially for convenience because we were staying at Bay Lake Towers - but have made it a point to return.

Ohana usually needs to be reserved really far ahead, but maybe they can catch a cancellation opening the day before.

I'm a fan of The Wave, even though it doesn't have any views to outdoors.

Oh believe me, I don't prefer Ohana either! I went in January and had terrible service. I just recommended it for the firework experience which the OP wanted. Out of the two, I'd definitely go with The Wave for sure!
