They are video tapes called walk away the pounds by Leslie Sansone (I think there may also be a DVD), here in England they are called walk away the weight. They are basically an easy exercise programme based around walking which is low impact and suitable for almost anyone. There are different tapes based around 1,2 or 4 miles and I think also some toning ones. they are available from amazon either .com or .co.uk depending on where you aer. Hope this helps
I used them for the first time today. Did the 1 mile walk, and I really enjoyed it! It wasn't too strenuos at all, but I still felt that I did a lot- and they went by so fassst!! You're done before you know it. I bought mine on QVC- I thikn it was like 38.00 for 4 tapes and the toning bands.
Got the set at Target- like they said $19.99 -came with 1, 2, and 3 mile tape AND the resistent belt (velcro big belt thing with stretchy things hanging off that have handles- in the videos they have part of the walking workout using those and the stretchiness (sp?) of the hand things attached adds the resistance so you get a workout of the arms/etc also -not just walking & walking exercises.
I really like them because I would like to walk and walking around the neighborhood/park/etc is not easy when you have 3 young children with you. LOL But this I can do in my livingroom.
I just bought a set yesterday ... 1,2,and 3 mile tapes, with water-filled balls for weights. I did the 1 mile last night, and again first thing this morning. It was harder than I thought it was going to be. Not sure when I'll be brave enough to attempt the 2 mile I couldn't get to Curves last night or tonight, so at least I will be doing something to help make up for that loss of workouts. I do find that she is easier to follow than some of the ones you see on TV, so that's a good thing. People here on WISH who have this program seem to really like it so I decided to give it a try too.
I have the tapes but not the weights (balls) can anyone tell me how heavy are they? I haven't really looked for the weights yet I have just been using some weights (designed for the ankles that I roll up and have strap which I can hold onto easily - 5 lb each).
Those who use, what are your thoughts on the round weights?
Did 3 mi for the first time yesterday and really liked it! I am so uncoordinated am glad that I am in my own studio so others don't get hysterical when I am out of sync with those pros!!
Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to see if they have them at Target, if not, I'll order them from Amazon. I've been walking on my treadmill for 30 min a day, but I have to break it up into 10-15 min at a time. It's been so long since I did ANY exercise at all that I am veeerrrrryy out of shape. I probably couldn't even get through the 1 mile tape right now, but I think I will get them and do as much as I can and keep increasing it. This sounds like something I would like doing.
