Waterslides!

I just watched a video tour of Aulani and the two water slides look faster and “scarier” than expected.
Do you think they are too old for a 4 year old? Is there an age restriction? Thanks!
Also- is the snorkeling at the resort worth it?

They have a double tube that you can share. I would do the 4 year old in the double tube with an adult and a life jacket.

I would agree with CaptainAmerica. I always used the double tube and a life jacket with my kids at that age. They sat in the front of the tube and I sat in the back of the tube. I would not recommend the enclosed slide. Only one person is allowed down that slide at a time and it is dark going down! My kids were not brave enough to go down on their own in the dark until they were 6 years old.

My daughter did the double slide at 4yo and hated it, but she’s a chicken I think it’s safe and suitable for a small child riding with an adult.

She’s now 5 and can swim but I wouldn’t send her down the body slide on her own . . . even if she wanted to. I have seen other small children go down the slide and enjoy it, though.

The Menehune playground has two small slides, one of which is a dark slide. You can test the waters there before moving on to the big slides.

The Menehune slides were closed when were there about a week ago. I agree that going down on a double tube is a great way to start and see if your kid is ready. The lifeguards at the top of the slides are wonderful too.

Here now, slides are open. I'm seeing lots of little kids going down the slides. Lots and lots of screaming. Not sure if it's good or bad

The inner tube slide is completely open except for maybe 10 feet at the very bottom. The body slide is completely enclosed. Both slides start at the same place. The body slide dumps into one of the pools and the inner tube slide dumps you out in the lazy river.
