Now that I got my free ticket upgrade (thanks codes and rates forum), does anyone have a suggestion on which water park to go to with a 4 and 6 yr old. The 6 yr old will be very upset if he cannot ride the adult slides but he is only 47 inches... Also would children this age like Disneyquest?

I think Typhoon Lagoon would be better for younger kids. Blizzard Beach is more about the slides and such.

BB would be my choice. They have an area called Ski Patrol that's just for kids. It has kid sized slides, rides, etc. There's another area close to it for younger kids but your 4 yr old will probably like Ski Patrol also. The water isn't to deep, you can sit on the side and watch them come down the slides if you don't want to get in the water with them. They also have a family raft ride and lazy river tube ride. My dd's were 6 last trip and they loved BB. They thought the kids area at TL was babyish and were scared of the wave pool. One got really scraped up when she got knocked over by a wave and my ds12 had a really nasty scrape from getting knocked over by an adult who'd been knocked down and pushed by the wave. BB also has a wave pool but it's smaller then TL's. Some of the adult slides your 6 yr old will be to small for but you'll have the same problem at TL. Mine spent the whole day in BB and loved it.

DQ is another story. It depends on your child. My ds12 loved it, my dd's not so much. They weren't tall enough for the bumper car things or roller coaster. They're not into video games that much and most of the things they had seemed more geared to older kids. They could do some virtual things like the raft ride but weren't really impressed. The things one dd really liked were in an area where you had to pay extra for each game. If your 6 yr old really is into playing video games with dad then he would enjoy it, but the 4 yr old might not.

I vote for Typhoon Lagoon! They have more "adult" type kids slides (make sense) that my kids love! They can go down in their own tube and couldn't swim at all when they did this, very fun, very independent for them and safe.

Also, the biggest draw is the wave pool. Put a life vest on them and they LOVE it!

If I had to choose only one TYPHOON LAGOON all the way!

No doubt in my mind. First it has the kid friendly cartoon atmosphere they will LOVE. The wave pool is much more tame and better for their age. TL wave pool is so powerful you will have to hold them tight. The lazy river is equal. They have this family raft ride you all will love and they will want to do over and over! AND they have the Ski Patrol Training area that he will be totally in love with. Zip line, slides, icebergs... check out this guys site. He worked there. My Dsis was just there with 7 year old twins and they had a blast !!!! (I don't think they are 48" and they went on just about everything. One even did the big drop next to Summet Plummet).

I would wait on DQ unless you have a ticket that will expire. I didn't take my youngest until age 9....

I vote for Typhoon Lagoon. My 6 year old loved all of it. Free of charge you can get a life jacket for the kids-- my kids can swim but it made the 6 year old feel more comfortable. We all agreed that it was the best day of the entire trip. When you are looking for a spot to make your base camp walk further back into the park and get one of the shaded spots---you'll be glad to get out of the sun for lunch or just for a break. Also, be careful to re-apply waterproof sun screen. We did this but still managed to get slight burns on our shoulders.

Are kids allowed to leave their life jackets on when they go down the slides? We've been to waterparks before where they weren't allowed to go down the slides with a life jacket.

Yes. My DGD wore hers all day.
